Woodie's Auto Service Woodie's Auto Service, particularly ***, is the absolute worst when it comes to mechanics

Woodie's Auto Service, particularly ***, is the absolute worst when it comes to mechanics. They treat you poorly and are solely interested in taking your money! They don't have a clue about how to fix my car and keep inventing new problems to charge me for! It's all about the money with them. I strongly advise against going to any of their locations because they're all equally terrible.

Woodie's Auto Service Horrible experiance

Horrible experiance. They installed equpment on my truck and they didn't know what they were doing. The bully bar they installed fell down the very next day. I called their location to get them to correct the issue but they won't call me back. I spent over $500 after they quoted much less. I was willing to pay if it was right however they don't stand behind their work. Don't take your vehicle here...

Woodie's Auto Service The staff at Woodie's Auto Service can be quite rude

The staff at Woodie's Auto Service can be quite rude. I've been going there for years to get my oil changed. I have to do it frequently because I drive 500 miles every week, which is more than their average customer. But today, they told me they don't want my business anymore just because I only get oil changes. They keep trying to sell me more expensive services that are often unnecessary. It's funny because in 2020, when everyone was on lockdown, I brought my car there and they hardly had any cars to fix. Their staff even mentioned how difficult it was to keep the business running with so little work. Now that their parking lot is full, they suddenly don't want my business. It's hard to trust a business like that.

Woodie's Auto Service Not totally upfront

Not totally upfront. My 2016 Town and Country went into limp mode. I called and asked if they accepted CarShield and would look at my van. They didn't seem too happy but said yes and there would be a diagnosis fee. I had the van delivered to the facility in ***. After a day, they came back with a diagnosis that the *** had gone bad causing the transmission to fail. They said the transmission fluid was *** and smelled burnt. The repair cost would be $6K. CarShield rejected the claim, saying they don't warranty the transmission failing from outside electronic sources. Being retired, I couldn't afford the repair cost. I had the van delivered back to my house. I decided to repair the van on my own. First, I ordered a computer for $328. Next, I drained the transmission and changed the filter. The fluid was red and there was very little partial on the magnet. Telling me no one ever really checked the fluid. The computer arrived and was installed. After installation, it came back indicating the 2/4 solenoid was faulty. Ordered a solenoid pack for $218. Installed the solenoid pack and refilled the transmission with fresh fluid. All codes cleared and test drove the van. All good! So for $600 in parts, maybe one not needed. And about 8 hours of driveway labor, this 72-year-old fixed what I feel Woodies didn't want to mess with because it was dealing with CarShield. If you want minor repairs, general maintenance, and such, it might be the place to go. But if you have a MAJOR REPAIR UNDER A CAR WARRANTY, STAY AWAY!

Woodie's Auto Service This is a complaint about Woodie's Auto Service & Repair Centers located in Huntersville

This is a complaint about Woodie's Auto Service & Repair Centers located in Huntersville. On May 25, 2022, my car started misfiring. The manager said it wasn't the spark plugs or fuel cleaning agents. The diagnosis was a timing chain kit, and they quoted me $4,438.62. We asked if a new engine would be better, but he said to replace the timing chain due to cost. I paid $139.59 for the diagnosis on June 13. I went back to Woodie's on July 1 to pick up my car after the timing chain replacement, which cost me $4600. The manager informed us that pieces of the timing chain had fallen into the engine, but he did his best to retrieve them all. The car spent a total of 18 days in service.

On July 1, while driving to the beach, the car started misfiring again, so we called the manager. From July 6 to July 14, he told us that based on the warranty, he had replaced the engine with a brand new one from another company. However, we noticed a vibration and complained to him both over the phone and in person. He said it was normal. On October 17, we went for an oil change and vibration check, and on November 14, we had to pay $464.31 because the car was smoking and had no energy. The hoses were broken, but the manager said he didn't know if it was related to the vibration. The shaking continued from November 18 to November 30, and during the diagnosis, they broke the fuel pump. However, they replaced it at no charge, but only informed us about it on December 28, 2022, when my wife and I confronted him about the converter diagnosis. The mechanic said it wasn't the converter.

Ever since we picked up the car, there has been a strong smell of gas inside. They quoted us $1796.38 for a new catalytic converter on December 21. On December 28, we discussed this with another specialist who did a computer diagnosis and found a fuel injection and fuel pump code. They said the car had enough pressure on the exhaust, so a new catalytic converter wasn't needed. However, on December 29, we took the car to another specialist and had a brand new catalytic converter installed for $1240.75. On January 7, 2023, they told us that the car had contaminated fuel. It feels like a ripoff!

Woodie's Auto Service I went to get my window fixed at Woodie's Auto Service at 10:30 am

I went to get my window fixed at Woodie's Auto Service at 10:30 am. They said they could fix it. At 12:00, they called and told me the total and that the part was coming in. At 2:00, they said they were putting the part on. I've been waiting for my car to be serviced since 10:30. I asked what was happening with the car at 3:00, and the lady at the front desk said they ordered the wrong part and were waiting for the new one. She didn't bother to let me know what was happening with my car until I asked. At 4:30, the part still hadn't arrived, so I asked for my car back. When I got my car back, my car door wasn't on correctly, and I couldn't close it. The man at the front said they were rushing to put my car door back on. I think the customer service and car care were handled poorly, and something needs to be done about this.

Woodie's Auto Service I took my car to Woodie's Auto Service to fix a problem with the speed sensor

I took my car to Woodie's Auto Service to fix a problem with the speed sensor. They told me that they needed to do a diagnostic before they could fix it. After checking my car, Logan said that the alternator was actually the issue. I had never experienced any problems with my vehicle before this. I insisted that it was the speed sensor, but he assured me that the alternator was the problem. They replaced the alternator, and then I got a call from Logan saying that it was actually the speed sensor. I only came in for that specific issue, and now they wanted me to pay $955 for a job that should have cost $216. I picked up my car, and Barry told me that my fan might be defective, but I would only notice problems when I'm stuck in traffic. When I started my car, hot air came out of the AC. I called Logan, and he said, "the tech put the belt on wrong, come back tomorrow." About 30 minutes later, my car started smoking, and the engine almost caught fire. The next day, they examined my car for an hour before Barry told me that they wouldn't do any more work without additional payment.

Date of the service: 1/7/2022 Transaction amount: $729.92 Business commitment: Brake service and Wheel alignment Invoice: ***
On the date of service, I dropped the vehicle off to get brake service and wheel alignment done. When I picked up the car and drove it home, I noticed the car was still pulling to the left. Before I took it back to have them work on it again, I wanted to make sure that there was a problem. So I took it on the highway, and from there, it was apparent that the wheel alignment was in really bad shape. It was in such bad shape that I was afraid I would get into an accident due to the severity of their poor workmanship. Therefore, I rushed back to the service shop and asked for a printout of the alignment report. They told me that they didn't have it anymore for whatever reason and that they could not pull it out from their computer system because they don't keep such records. However, and thankfully enough, they redid the alignment and sent me on my way. Before I left, I asked the customer representative (***) for the alignment report, and he couldn't be any more annoyed by my request. He was very quick to tell me that he didn't have the report and showed signs of frustration. Eventually, one of his associates pulled it out from under his desk and gave it to me. With the report in my hand, I was finally able to leave the shop thinking that all is well. But I was wrong to make that assumption. This time, the car started pulling to the other side and was shaking the car (a problem that I didn't have in the beginning).

Woodie's Auto Service I wasn't completely honest and they misdiagnosed the problem

I wasn't completely honest and they misdiagnosed the problem. Before I went to Woodie's, I used the check engine scanner at Auto Advance. According to the reading, there was a problem with the thermostat. On 4/13/2022, I went to Woodie's to have my car looked at. I explained to the person at the front desk and handed them the computer print paper, which stated there is an issue with the thermostat. Woodie's wanted to charge me $119.87 for their diagnostic. After waiting for 8 hours, *** told me that there was nothing wrong with the thermostat or the car. They were also supposed to reset the trouble codes. When I got into my car, the check engine light was still on. Instead of going back to Woodie's, I trusted my gut feeling and went to another garage. I ended up paying $119.99 to have the car diagnosed. According to the information they gave me, they found a number of code issues and the thermostat was one of them. After spending $496.85, the car was fixed and it's now running fine. I thought I could trust Woodie's with my car. It seems like Woodie's is going downhill these days. I guess they decided that profits and personal greed were more important than hiring qualified technicians and ensuring customer safety. I bet anyone, even a 5-year-old or someone off the street, could operate a code reader better and diagnose the problem than the technician who looked at my car. As a result, they have definitely lost my business. Lastly, just because we're in a post-pandemic and high inflation period, doesn't give Woodie's the right to take advantage of regular people just to make a quick buck. If the manager or owner of Woodie's are honest people, they should do the right thing and refund me my $119.87. The invoice number is ***.

Woodie's Auto Service In late July 2022, I brought my car to Woodie's Auto Service to get the front brake pads and rotors replaced and have the rear brake drums

In late July 2022, I brought my car to Woodie's Auto Service to get the front brake pads and rotors replaced and have the rear brake drums flushed. After just 3 days, I started hearing loud squeaking in the brakes every time I stopped at a light. I use my car a lot for work and sometimes drive up to 300 miles per day. So, I took my vehicle back to Woodie's within 1-2 weeks. They said they visually checked the brakes and took the car for a short drive around the block, but they didn't find anything wrong. They said it only took them about 15 minutes to figure that out. They gave my car back to me a few hours later.

Several weeks later, I decided to take my car to the *** Dealership. They showed me a video that revealed the front rotors had heat spots, which the senior technician said were caused by the aftermarket brake pads that Woodie's had put on my car. The technician also pointed out in the video that a mounting bolt was missing on the front driver's side, which connects the *** wire sensor and Brake Hose. This missing bolt caused rubbing against the axle, and the ball joint needed to be mounted correctly. Fixing all of this cost me an extra $875. Additionally, I had to replace the battery, which added to the overall cost.

On 8.23.2022, I spoke with ***, who claimed to be the manager of Woodie's Auto Service at ***. He admitted to using aftermarket brake pads but said they had been working fine for the past 10+ years that Woodie's had been using them. He said the pads were under warranty and could be easily replaced. However, it was clear that these pads were defective and were the cause of the brake issues and stopping problems with my car. I have a video that shows these defects. They told me that even a junior mechanic should have been able to spot these issues. The quality of the work done was obviously very poor.

I believe I should get a refund for the money I paid at Woodie's. I also think that Woodie's Auto Service is using cheap parts and charging excessively high labor rates to make a profit.

Woodie's Auto Service I went to Woodie's Auto Service (Mallard Crossing) to fix a broken alternator and alternator belt

I went to Woodie's Auto Service (Mallard Crossing) to fix a broken alternator and alternator belt. It cost me over $800. Woodie's assured me that their work came with a "3-year-36,000 mile national warranty on all parts and labor." On May 12th, 2022, while I was on a trip out of state, the new alternator and belt they installed failed and had to be replaced by a garage in ***. I had to pay around $530 for that repair. While my car was being fixed, I called Woodie's to let them know that I would be making a warranty claim since their work failed within the warranty period. They gave me the warranty office's phone number and told me to call them. When I did, the warranty company representative told me that the specific Woodie's location where the work was done was not covered by the warranty. I called Woodie's to inform them about this. They said it was incorrect and that they would handle the problem. They texted me asking for copies of the *** for the repair work done to replace the failed parts. I gave them the invoice that showed the repair cost ($530). About a week later, they called me and said, "we will get you some money. Go to the Woodie's location where the repair was done and talk to the manager." So I went there today (May 29th) at 2:00. The manager wasn't there. At first, an employee told me they didn't know about the issue, but then said "there was an issue with the warranty." He called the manager, who eventually came to the store. The manager told me they decided to refund $500 for the parts and labor because "it was close to what you paid the shop in *** to fix it." I told him that he still owed me over $300 to honor the warranty. He refused to pay more than $500.
