Werke Classic Coach claims to be in the business of vintage and classic motor vehicle restoration, including buying, repairing, restoring and selling vintage and classic motor vehicles. I engaged this company to restore one of my cars and to restore one of theirs, for my eventual purchase. Both cars were delivered out of state, supposedly "finished", but with significant shortfalls.
On the mechanical side, defects included burned points, plugs and condenser, inoperable clutch, poor alignment, improper fuel line connection, dirt in the fuel tank which was carried through the carburetor and engine, etc. Cosmetically - the cars were missing parts, leather seats were spray painted instead of purchased new or restored in the proper color, there were imperfections in the paint, etc. Within a few days neither car operated.
Repeated communications with the owner and his son were not returned. Now the owner is trying to hide behind a corporate veil by closing down his legal business name but continuing to operate in the business. While this group has significant years in the business of restoration, they have proven to be unethical and have not provided their agreed-to warranty for their work.
Beware of this group which uses the same name as their internet domain name. Also beware of Ebay activity under the username: coveclassicmotorsports.
Beware of his changing Ebay usernames: "werkeclassic" and then "coveclassicmotorsports" and now "gmcspeedster57". Whywould one need to keep changing their username?
I have worked with Gary for 7 years and restored 3 Alfa Romeo with him. He is the best in his field and does immaculate work. His fees are reasonable and the end result is fantastic. Did everything I asked and showed me how some earlier work by others was poorly done, which he corrected. I have also worked with many other shops and I feel his rises to the top of the field. I am not sure what issues you had but I believe you are not telling the whole story. I think I know the story. Brian Cooper
