This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

I purchased a wallet from Walleteras (walleteras.com) in January of 2020. I had a minor issue with the wallet and sent two emails to their support email for advice. Both emails were ignored so a couple of weeks ago I left a negative review (2 of 5 stars) for the product on their website with a detailed explanation of my problem.

The review was respectful and detailed. However, after submitting the review I noticed that is was not posted. After performing a little research I discovered that I could find no reviews less than 4 stars. This would suggest that they are scrubbing any negative reviews. Below is the content of the original review:

ORIGINAL SCRUBBED REVIEW

I wanted to love this wallet, but can't. After searching off and on for weeks to find a suitable replacement to my 10 year-old wallet (Egyptian leather) I settled on the Americano. Aside from the form factor, the RFID feature was essential. Unfortunately, as the title suggests, this wallet will NOT remain closed. I suspect that the reason is because the leather is too stiff. It may also be a design issue.

The wallet was purchased in January and has about six months of light to normal usage. I currently have only 2 credit cards and an ID, so it is not overfull. While sitting on a table the wallet remains open about 1/2". I've tried leaving heavy weights (books) on it overnight and also working the leather to condition it to no avail.

This normally this wouldn't be an issue for someone who keeps it in a back pocket, but I usually keep mine in the side pocket of loose fitting cargo pants/shorts. Because it is prone to open it makes it a little more awkward fishing it out, especially if there are other items in said pocket. The stiffness is also an issue with regards to the corners. This is the first wallet I've owned that had moderately sharp corners. This makes it uncomfortable to handle, unlike my old wallet that was soft out of the box.

I reached out to Walletera support for advice on how best to condition their wallet. I tried on March 21st and again June 13th. Both of those requests were ignored, so you should assume that [protected]@walleteras.com is a dead account. For this reason alone, I will not be purchasing any future Walletera products.

I am going to search online for recommendations for softening the leather and hope for the best. If it doesn't work I'll be buying some RFID sleeves and switch back to my old wallet.
