VANTAGE BEWARE

Due to false and malicious posts on the complaints board, Vantage Corporate would like to give consumers accurate and valid information on who Vantage Marketing is.

Vantage Marketing is a summer sales company that hires on college students during the summer to sell pest control door to door. Vantage's purpose is to provide college students the best summer work experience and internship in business, sales, and leadership. Vantage will prepare their employees for future careers while building their resume and earning the highest compensation in the industry. Students will not only make good money, but they will develop skills that will benefit them the rest of their life.

Each sales representative and sales manager will receive excellent training both in pre-season and throughout the summer. The required pre-season training program will take them through a variety of sales and leadership methods and philosophies through books, training manuals, live modules, videos, on-the-door training, and required pre-season selling in Utah. Vantage's goal is to help every representative be prepared and ready for the summer and reach his potential. They meet with their sales managers every week throughout the year to prepare them for the summer.

Vantage's pay scales will not be beat! Whether the student is looking to be a sales manager, sales representative, or recruiter, Vantage will compensate them fairly for their efforts and production. As the Industry leader, Vantage has the capability and resource that is necessary to help the students and sales representatives have a successful summer. The earning potential Vantage offers is unmatched so it’s up to the sales representative to put in the time and effort that is required to do well.

Please feel free to contact Vantage Corporate for further information and/or questions.

My wife and I worked for Vantage the summer of 2015. We were only working for 2 months because of schooling. They promised us an apartment with a full kitchen and training for both my wife (who would be selling with me) and me. When we got there, they put us in a hotel for the entire time we were there. My wife NEVER got trained because they didn't think she was worth the time to train because, and I quote, "girls just aren't good at selling so why waste time". The manager only cared about his top sellers and didn't try and help those struggling. Eventually we had to quit because cops kept getting called on us and the manager wouldn't move us areas.

That being said, my brother in law made over $20, 000, but he was also getting screwed with "fees" and "accounting problems in the main office" so he isn't going back to them. Take that for what you will.

I worked for vantage summer of 2010. I was never given the money that was promised in my back end check. Being a naive college student, believing I was working for honest men, I soon found out I was very wrong. In fact when asked to see my contract I had with them they told me they lost my copy and have no record of it anywhere. Tom Karen mocked me... However I mock their idea of a "honest" company. Any people looking to go with this company will find out they will be surrounded by dishonest men with huge egos .

I feel bad for people who read this entire page.. which includes me I guess. If I didn't have my trainer from my mission (the most honest and humble guy I know) give me all the details, good and bad, on the company and the experience, I would continue to just not care about summer sales job and never touch the things. I don't know, I just don't find any credibility in the negative comments, they just seem unreasonable and like they're reaching a little to give a bad image. The good opinions vary from honest credibility to just trying to sell the company. There's a reason I really will never touch politics, a lot of times it's who can slander the other more intensely. Well, I guess I just wasted time when I can just go discuss this with my buddy bud. Peace out!

Hahahaha! Why did incite change there name then!? It's that simple! All the comments backing vantage up are all the managers. Say what you will but a honest company would want to keep there name not change it! All there hard work o supposedly honesty goes into that name! A name is a foundation for your company! If there so honest answer the simple question... Why did they change there name then!? You guys sticking up for them sound ###ed! Hahaha! Kids these days.

ATTENTION ANYONE WHO WANTS TO WORK WITH VANTAGE: READ MY UNBIASED OPINION!

I worked with Vantage over the summer of 2012. I hated the nature of the job, more specifically, the door-to-door grind. It's a sucky job, to be honest, but it paid me well enough for me to be glad with the decision. I didn't get paid an extravagant amount like ANY door-to-door sales companies would advertise, but I can live comfortably on the money I made for about a year. In spite of the good money, I don't even want to work for them again this summer because I hate door-to-door sales THAT MUCH. If you do want to make a lot of money and you can handle four months of a horrible door-to-door grind, this is the company for you.

Many of the complaints above say that Vantage doesn't pay its backend payments. I'm here to say that's FALSE. I received all of my up-front paychecks and my October/February backend checks. In fact, I just deposited my February check this morning. Vantage paid me every single penny that they owed me. On top of that, I got a cruise, a free trip to Six Flags, a buttload of incentives... etc. When you read the complaints above, be aware that door-to-door sales can be a little cutthroat. The people who posted that "some people didn't get their backends" are probably competitors who want to steer potential recruits away from Vantage.

That is all. Hope this post sufficiently defended one of the last honest door-to-door sales companies.

These negative reviews are such bull crap. Jacob Orchard made this post up. He is a now a competitor working for another company. I know several reps that worked in his office and said that he is extremely shady. I don't personally work for Vantage anymore so I have nothing to gain by writing this except to at least give readers the truth. Working with Vantage was one of the best experiences I have ever had. It was no doubt a hard job that challenged me but I am so glad that I did it. I made over 20k my first year doing it. Vantage is a great company to work for. My team in Raleigh did very well last summer. Almost every rep that worked in my office is returning for another summer. Don't believe the crap you read on hear from competitors trying to slander a good companies name. I could give you a list a mile long of reps that worked for Vantage that are now returning because they had a good experience. Vantage takes care of its reps and keeps its promises. If someone didn't get a backend check its because the rep was a piece of crap and didn't work. You don't get a backend if your not owed one genius. I got mine just fine. In fact it was a little more than I even thought it was going to be.

These positive comments are funny considering I still haven't been paid for the accounts i actually earned, also "back-end", funny term, I know over 5 people that still haven't been paid their back-ends, tom and shandon know who they are, who I am, I am disappointed . I got to meet with Tom Karren over the summer, he helped train me, gave me positive remarks, helped me in a lot of ways, the very first day I sold with him he sold one in my name. From the experiences I had with them they were nice to your face, but when they aren't around and it's the end of the summer they don't give a crap about who you are or about what you have done for them, they are power and money hungry, and will stop at nothing to get what they want. Anybody would tell you everybody that sold for Insight pest solutions, or Rove pest control, through Vantage marketing got screwed out their a-holes. Sure, Josh campos, who is a good man, did well, because he's a VP, and other's who worked in the Terminex branches. My final remarks are to Tom and shandon Directly, what you have done is criminal, It's been over 2 weeks, I have not received a check that was supposed to be paid to me October 10 for sales I earned, not my Back-end, actual sales, and isn't it criminal acts that make a criminal. I'ts also funny that you have denied access to the website to check are cancels and then make up phony numbers, prove it you shameless entities.

Vantage is not Honest

The first thing you need to know about Vantage is that all of their statistics are made up. I worked for incite last summer in their Sacramento Branch. We were the third highest producing branch in the company. They claim that only 1 in 7 of their reps made less than 12, 500 last summer, however, in our office, I would estimate that, only 1 in 7 made over that.

Their averages (21000 for a first year, and 53000 for an experienced) are also completely bogus as well. They claim that they serviced 35000 accounts last summer (assuming that their were no cancels, and there were) when divided among 700 reps that only yields 50 accounts per rep. On the first year pay scale that is only 7000 per rep, which is well below the 21000 they claim (and that is assuming that everyone sells at 500 per account, which never happens, and that one were to get the tuition bonus and 1000 worth of incentives). With 50 accounts that is 9500 on the experienced payscale with the same assumptions (well below 53000). Now about half of the reps left partway through the summer, assuming that those that left sold no accounts then that would leave 100 accounts per rep. The highest estimate of what reps would be paid would be 16, 500 for a first year rep and 19500 for a second year rep (and these numbers are extremely over blown). THEY COMPLETELY LIED ABOUT THEIR AVERAGES.

Incite/Vantage seems to change their name every year and operate in the same unprofessional way. They posted those same averages last year, which incentivized me to work for them. I worked hard 60 hour weeks and pulled out far less than their claimed averages even though I was an above average rep for my office. DON'T FALL FOR THE SAME TRAP.

They changed a lot of their policies mid summer. In the beginning of the summer first year reps were paid 75 and experienced reps were paid 100 up front. Mid summer they started paying all reps substantially less (50 for a first year and 75 for experienced) backtracking on what was in their own contract. They also changed the backend date. Originally 75% of all unpaid commission was going to be paid in October, but they later denied this and said that it meant that only 75% of all commissions would be paid at that date despite everyone that worked their knowing that they were changing their mind.

Ever wondered why INCITE is now VANTAGE? Why would an extremely successful company change their name (its not like they are introducing a new product or that Vantage is a inherently better name than Incite)? They changed their name to AVOID LAWSUITS from the apartment complexes that reps stayed at during the summer. Even though reps paid $500 dollars per month for an extremely overcrowded apartment, Incite did not pay the apartment complexes rent. They changed their name to avoid being sued. Additionally I knew a number of reps who were stuck with repair/energy bills from reps that had left early during the summer. They had to pay hundreds of dollars in addition to the rent they already paid.

FINALLY, YOU WILL NOT GET PAID YOUR BACKEND! Incite owes me almost 3000 dollars and although I tried to work it out with them they were extremely rude and unhelpful. A bunch of my accounts from the summer just disappeared and they also claimed that I was on a different pay scale than the one I had been promised/ spent the whole summer on, even though I was still listed on their website as being on the higher pay scale. Right now I am in the midst of the legal process to get it back (Don’t worry about me I will). I was not the only one they cheated. They owe my cousin over 20000 in recruiting pay. They also cheated my former manager and every other rep from my office that I have talked to out of thousands of dollars.
Please don’t work for them, I would like to save you from the same situation that I am in.

I fully agree. Me and my friends are working with Vantage this summer and we have had nothing but a great experience. The owners are awesome and will do anything for you. I was referred by a friend who worked with them last year who did great. Don't believe the lies that people post on these sites.

The Truth With Nothing to Hide!
I worked for Vantage Marketing last year (formally Incite Marketing) and had an extremely positive and successful summer. I can't believe the lies and malicious comments "anonymous" people have posted. They are simply not true. Shandon Cole and Tom Karren are men of integrity. They are competent and extremely successful businessmen. I was paid every penny I earned last year, as well as all of my friends. At times, I was given more than I earned through both office and corporate incentives. Vantage Marketing is the highest paying and most honest company in the business. Because of their reputability, they have been able to secure clients with the biggest and best pest control companies in the business. What that means for anyone who works with them is that we get to work for the most legit pest control companies in the best markets.
I believe that Vantage Marketing provides its employees with a better chance to succeed than any other company. They are able to pick the best markets to go to, and they have tons of experience. I felt like last year all they tried to do was to knock down any obstacles that would prevent me from succeeding and then help me accomplish my goals.
If there was a better company with more honest men that provided a better set up for success, I would find them and work with them. There just simply isn't a better opportunity out there. Out of all the years I worked, I had the most success last last summer, and it wasn't just me! I saw everyone around me having success including my little brother who sold for his first year.
Every summer there is always someone who claims that they got "screwed out of their money", or that "the company is not honest and wants to cheat everyone". These are the kind of people that get on a website and post long-angry-anonymous complaints. I have never met one person who works hard all summer long, develops good sales skills, and is successful at pest control sales that ends up thinking or feeling this way. It is always those who would rather complain than make sales. People who think they can't have success because other things are holding them back, or that they deserve more money than they actually, contractually, have earned. People that don't have what it takes to be successful at this hard of a job. It's never the successful people, it's always the failures that seem to feel this way. Sadly, some of my own friends have fallen into this category. The funny thing is that I've noticed this same trend with these same friends in almost every job they have or task they undertake.
It comes down to a simple math equation. You earn a percentage of each total contract value that you sell. The more you sell, the more you earn. Every single time I've seen someone get upset, it is because they were lazy and did not work as hard as they could have, or it is because they refused to look at the facts; how many they sold vs. how many were serviced in relation to how many they were paid on.
Vantage Marketing is not only bound by contact, but they are willing and happy to pay out any rep all that they have earned. I saw, in person, Tom Karren and Shandon Cole sit down with any rep who had questions about their pay and were willing to come in and speak with them. They spent hours with some people going through every account to make sure it was accurate. They have always been willing and available to sit down with anyone that would like to come in and discuss any questions they might have, and to show them why they were paid what they were paid. It's simple math. You are paid on what you sell, and that is exactly what happened with me last year as well as all my friends.
Vantage Marketing is the best company to work for. They will provide you with more personal attention and a better set up for success than any other company. Please call me, text me, or email me if there are any questions, or if you would like to know more about the company and why my brother, my friends, and I all choose to work for Vantage Marketing.

Please come to the source.

I worked last summer (the summer of '10) with Incite Marketing--now under the name of Vantage Marketing. My experience was that of perseverance, determination, and an incredible amount of hard work. If you're looking for the truth about Vantage Marketing, I'm all yours.

I spent 4 months of my college life last summer working for Incite Marketing. The owners of the company are obviously Tom Karren and Shandon Cole--two of the most honest, hard-working, and trustworthy men I've ever encountered. I don't know that I can express to you the frustration I experience as I read the false statements listed above.

Beware of Vantage? Seriously? Goodness, if you're going to sell for ANY company over the summer you should do your research, but why wouldn't you do your research through the source? Before last summer, my first summer selling, I spent months researching and analyzing companies. I finally after a long, hard look at things, made the decision to go with Tom and Shandon and their company.

I promise you right now, that here on this board are many, many false claims about Vantage Marketing, Tom Karren, and Shandon Cole. These men have allowed me to support my family, free myself of debt, and find a line of employment that I enjoy! If anyone tells you that selling pest-control, or any other product over the summer is a blast, they're lying to your face! This job is HARD! But, seriously, what worth pursuing in life isn't hard? Am I wrong?

Call me, email me, comment, whatever you want. I promise I will be 100% honest with you. If you don't trust the source then I don't know what you can trust. If anyone of you were to meet Tom Karren, Shandon Cole, and the company they represent, I PROMISE you that your concerns would be resolved. These accusations are false. For heavens sake, I was there! I was paid every dime I was owed. I was given everything I was promised. I worked my trash off, and I tell you now, that if anyone reads these accusations and complaints about Vantage or it's owners, call me. Now. Please. I will, without any hesitation, ulterior motive of recruiting, or any attached compensation, tell you the truth about Vantage Marketing.

I came with Vantage because I care. I stay with Vantage because they care. You don't understand if you believe this stuff that has been posted. Please, with no reservation, I list my personal contact info. Contact me anytime. If you want the real info, put your pull-ups on, man up, and go to the source.
