Schneider National - Drug testing

On February 25, of 2020, I went to Schneider's Green Bay Wisconsin location for pre employment training. I just recently graduated CDL school 2 months prior so I had only been a CDL holder for 2 going on 3 months. Very new to the industry. Due to the fact I had little to no experience, training was a requirement in order for me to be a driver for the company. I remember coming into classroom approximately 7am and taking a quiz on basic road rules and CDL knowledge. I was the first done so I was first in line for the drug screening portion. I was met by a lady who seemed eager for me to get started with the drug screening. I didn't quite feel the need to use the bathroom but since she kept asking if I were I ready, I figured yeah…I should have enough to take the test. The first test I did was the hair follicle. The examiner shaved my entire right armpit. For the urine screening I produced just enough to where it was right on the line. The examiner looked at it and said it wasn't enough. So I was placed on shy bladder procedure. After 10-15 mins of drinking water and waiting, I was told my next test would be an observed test. I asked why and was told due to the temperature of previous specimen being out of range. That's the moment when I started to question myself about being there and actually wanting to work for the company. That was definitely a LIE! Then I said ok cool… no problem. I'll do the observed test. So I sat for another 2 mins waiting. A guy came from the office and asked "Are you going to agree to observed testing?" I told him yes. He then said ok let's make sure you understand the procedure. He asked me to follow him into an office room and there explained to me that it wasn't just watching, I would need to pull my pants and underwear all the way down, lift shirt, and spin around full circle. I've never heard of anything like this in my life. I'm quite sure criminals who are court ordered by law to submit drug tests don't have to perform this type of procedure. At this point it was like… who would really ask someone to do this? It's not like I was an employee, this was just training with no guarantee I would be hired. I thought about it and it made me feel super uncomfortable. Not to mention the guy that would be observing had more of a feminine posture and wore a ponytail on the top of his head. Which ultimately added more to the feeling of being uncomfortable. I just couldn't… this was too much. I said no. I don't feel like anyone should have to feel this low, uncomfortable, or have a feeling they need to degrade themselves for a company. It all felt wrong, from the false out of temp claim, to the get naked procedure. I left approximately 7:32am. I was only there for a very short amount of time. A few days later I received a letter in the mail from Schneider stating I had a refusal violation and to report to Clearinghouse. As I said, I'm new to the industry. Didn't really know what all this meant. Fast forward… it's Oct 2021, due to that violation I haven't been able to work. Although my hair follicle results were negative. I've been treated and viewed as a drug abuser by every company. Also found it strikingly odd another trucker explained this same scenario with Schneider in a YouTube video a year prior. Seems like there is way more to this than what meets the eye.
