I go to this store every 2-3 weeks (give or take) to buy candles.. And I mean $300-$500 worth of candles, which is easy to do. This place isn't cheap. I was at the front of the line where they keep all the crap they hope to have you fill your trolley up with last minute and a cashier opened up. A woman came up behind me and I told her she could go ahead of me so I could pick up more "crap" at the front of the line, as their marketing scheme yanked me into. She also began picking up more "crap" and we began to laugh about it as more cashiers opened up. The manager, and her power trip, stepped out and began yelling at us, "cashier *, *, and * are open!" I looked at her and her and said quite loudly, "we're shopping!" evidently, she realised had decided not to be so lazy, and actually walked around to the line to ask us, if we were ready rather than scream at us, she'd have noticed we were actually putting things in our trolley and not just sitting there gabbing.
So, I put the items back on the shelf, and walked to the cashier. Looks like their plan to get me to buy more things in the end backfired because of her loud mouth.
By the way, I dropped $600. On candles.
Way to go, home goods... Hiring a bee-eye-tee-see-aaaach for a manager. I plan to call corporate tomorrow to let them know - and that they need to stop hard selling the credit cards at check out. If I wanted one i'd have one. And now i'll never get one knowing someone like that runs the store.
Desired outcome: No outcome. Just let her know her attitude and power trip of scolding like we were a bunch of unruly children was not appropriate
