Carfax

I bought a used 2003 Corvette from a Chevroet dealer in Nov 2007. With it I received a clean Carfax report showing no accidents/damage. 16 years later, Dec 2023, I was attempting to trade my 2003 on a newer model. The dealer ran the Carfax and it showed an insurance entry of an accident and total loss in May of 2002. This was 18 months PRIOR to my purchase, and not reflected, but now, 16 years later the entry shows. The car has not been in any accident and certainly never totaled. To further back this up it has been titled in 4 states since the supposed incident, and all titles are clean and NOT salvage titles. I have written to Carfax twice, presenting the supporting documentation, and received no response.
