Masonite

I purchased an exterior door and frame which was suppose to be rot resistant. 20 months latter the door frame had rotted. The purchase ticket clearly stated the door jam was rot resistant Masonite. I filed a complaint and the Masonite representatives claimed it was not calked properly voiding the warranty. The supposedly rot resistant jam is made of a composite of wood and a Masonite product. Water will wick up this product just as it does a regular pine door frame.

Do not buy this product if you your exterior door is directly exposed. Masonite's warrantee is full of loop holes that protects them and not you.
