On 8/31/2023 at 8:50 a.m. I went into Paneras-Rapid City, SD. to order my daily breakfast, and, to request a credit for an over charge the previous day of 12.85.
As, I am a customer often twice a day and therefore was not concerned I would have any issues. I spoke to a counter person who said she would get the manager. When the manager came out-Ms. Dunn-I was asked "What is the problem"? No introduction, no "How can I help", etc. I explained the issue and told her I did not need money back simply credit in the store was fine as I am there every day. That I was a member of her SIP Club and so often came in twice a day.
She said she could not help me. That unless I had a transaction number, she could not assist. I explained that with my credit card she could look up the transaction number. Which, she went and did and told me that the over charge was not on there. I said I would show her the bank statement which I pulled up to which she stated that "it does me no good that could be a hold charge and I have no way of proving that you were overcharged". She proceeded to explain in a loud agressive manner that she had a business to run and could not just hand me money. I told her she did not have to be rude, to which she said "well, I have told you four times, I don't know any other way to explain it to you". This was a humiliating experience and totally unacceptable. I was polite and kind and expected the same. I have been in was appalled at the level of rudeness and dissrespect of this employee.
Desired outcome: I wish to be notified what actions were taken to remedy this type of behavior. A simple "retraining" is not enough to make a statement to this employee that her behavior not only embarrassed me, but, the company she represents.
