I work at the distribution center through DMSI, and we were given our discount cards. Today, on Friday, June 9th, around 2:45 pm, I went to use mine at the Rock Hill location, but it kept showing invalid numbers as they scanned my card. Two cashiers called up one of the supervisors, Andrea. It's worth noting that I used to work at this Ross, and Andrea never really liked me much. When she arrived and saw it was me, she made an ugly face. Then she tried my discount card once, looked at me, shrugged, and said, "I can't do anything." Her customer service was terrible. She could have at least tried to act like she wanted to help, but she didn't even want to attempt it. Her attitude was evident from the moment she walked up and made that face. She did a horrible job of resolving the issue, which, in the end, was never resolved. I ended up returning all $48.10 worth of items I had intended to purchase.
Later, when I called back to speak with her after leaving the store the first time, I was put on hold for 5 minutes before having to call back and have someone go get her to pick up the phone. It's worth mentioning that when I worked there, she would give her discount out to people who didn't even work at Ross, which goes against the policy of not sharing discounts. But hey, that's none of my business. As I was leaving the store with my purchase, she started questioning whether I "actually work at Ross," seemingly trying to embarrass me as if I didn't.
Overall, it was a very unprofessional and terrible experience. In my opinion, she either needs to be retrained, fired, or put on some sort of suspension. You shouldn't be able to treat a paying customer who is also part of the company in that way just because you hold some secret animosity towards them. It's highly unprofessional and reflects poorly on the company.
