Trustpilot claims to help consumers rate businesses. I recently had a bad online experience with a store called British Corner Shop that sold me expired food and then was really out of line in how they resolved the problem. I rated the company badly on Trustpilot and they asked for proof of purchase. I sent them a photo of the invoice, the order number, a screenshot of an email exchange with the company that included the order number, as well as photos of the expired products. My review was flagged for a breach of terms of service and silently removed with text indicating a violation of the terms of service displayed next to my name. My login also now appears to be blocked preventing me from placing other reviews. I do not believe I violated the terms of service and I have asked them to explain and they provide a different answer each time. When I asked Trustpilot why the company was allowed to remove my review (and seemingly instantly post sham reviews that contradicted the direct points I made), they again asked for a screenshot of an e-mail exchange with the company that mentioned the order number. I had already sent that TWICE, but I sent it again. Then they said they wouldn't accept e-mail from a Yahoo address, so I resent from an Apple address. At this point, I decided to review Trustpilot because it was obvious they were just putting up roadblocks for legit customers trying to post legit reviews. Trustpilot removed my review saying it included defamatory speech, coarse language, or personal information. I believe that statement, which was posted next to my name, was naccurate and thus libelous. Danish TV did a report on this company, based in Denmark, and called them a mafia, extorting businesses for good reviews. I now seem to be blocked from leaving reviews, and I don't believe there is any good reason for that. This company is a total scam and should be stopped because they are operating fraudulently and they know that their reviews do not actually reflect the customer service ratings of the company. I have a lengthy and absurd e-mail exchange with the company but it includes personal information so not sure I should post it here.
Trustpilot - company reviews website
This company is obviously in the business of posting fake reviews for scam and rip-off companies. If you post a real 1 star review they will email you and say they need solid proof that you used the company or they won't post your review. And when you email them a copy of a Paid PayPal Invoice they email you back saying that's not good enough. That is exactly what they did to me. And yet on their website they have dozens of 1 and 2 line 5 star reviews for the same rip-off company. AS IF all those people also took the time to email them an invoice and more just so their 5-star review would be posted. Like REALLY! It's a very sad day when a company sets up a business that helps scammers continue to gather more victims by placing a lot of fake reviews. What a shame and what a joke!
