On Tuesday, January 24th, 2023, my daughter, Rachel Newbolds was interviewed by store manager, Sherry Hicks and hired for store clerk. On Friday, January 27th, 2023, Rachel showed up for her shift and Sherry asked Rachel if she was "hitting on her!" Rachel was shocked and humiliated and said, WHY would you say that?! Sherry responded, "you removed a piece of hair from my mouth the other day". Rachel said, "I did?". To which Sherry responded, "I cannot be your friend". Rachel then responded, "okay?" leaving her feeling confused and very uncomfortable. Rachel, then went to do her job and a co-employee, Cindy, told Rachel, "Sherry has been talking about you"hitting on her"to everyone and anyone who would listen, including customers! Sherry, also talks and undermines all the other employees to each other creating a toxic and unstable work environment. Sherry, is VERY unprofessional, rude, a gossiper, cusses at everyone, a mean and nasty person. Rachel, obviously has quit her job, she is not gay, she is happily married to her husband of several years. BUT what if she was gay? Sherry, is a racist and homophobic, totally unacceptable behavior by a"store manager." Rachel will be seeking legal advice on the best way to proceed with this issue.
