On the evening of June 30, I was shopping at my local Family Dollar, entering the store at approximately 9:10 PM. A short time later, maybe 20 minutes I had to use the bathroom due to a health issue I have been suffering from for a while, an issue which consists of flare ups and exacerbations that are urgent and sometimes unpredictable. I had to go immediately to avoid a humiliating incident, since there were no restrooms available in the store. I. eft my basket right where I was and dashed out. I didn't see any other employee but the one checking and there was someone in line they were with, so I couldn't say anything my basket to anyone.
After finding a place to address my issue and returning to the store I was immediately told to leave and I wasn't able to explain myself or respond at all to the man who I assume was the manager when he falsely stated that "I spent 45 minutes there filling up a basket that the employees now have to put back." This was at 9:45 because I asked the man, so I left the store without any items.
I had every intention of coming back and buying all of the items, so much so that I left my phone in the basket. I did not even get a chance to say that. I do not have a car, so I walk and it was incredibly frustrating to have done so much walking to come back home not only without my items, but no phone as well.
Desired outcome: For the staff to be more available for customers when assistance is needed as well as *sensitivity and understanding* and not be so quick to throw people out of the store without regard to the situation a customer may be dealing with
