I walked into the store 13 mins before they were going to close to exchange an EXACT item from a conditioner to a shampoo. I went and grabbed the shampoo and headed directly to the register taking into consideration that they were closing shortly, only to be left waiting while Dominique, the store manager, stood behind the counter talking with her associate about her failed engagement before she noticed I was waiting to process my even exchange. She had her associate tend to me but then she didn't know how to process an online exchange. Dominque then stated she couldn't process an even exchange item because of the date of the receipt. I once again repeated it was an even exchanged for an unused item from a conditioner to a shampoo. I explained I had purchased two and she began to speak of the return policy. I clarified her response for her and repeated myself that it was an exchange, not a refund. I began to look for the receipt in my rewards account for the second purchase of the conditioner where I should've gotten a shampoo since she was being difficult in what should've been a simple exchange. She processed it under the other receipt and then wanted me to pay the difference in county tax, again I told her it should be an even exchange and to just process then without a receipt and instead she turned her back and had her associate finish the exchange so I decided to take my conditioner back and I would exchange it at the locations I usually shop at because I had never experience such poor customer service at an Ulta store.
