Lowe's - Personnel knowledge and performance

I totally can understand why more and more people are shopping at Home depot rather than Lowe's. I will give you a reason. But this is one of many reasons why from now on I will be shopping at Home Depot.

Yesterday (November 14, 2021) I went on line shopping for "pendant Lighting" for my kitchen island. I found a variety at Home depot and a variety at Lowe's. Since it was a bit more convenient to shop Lowe's I decided to inquire with the chat feature that Lowe's provided.

I have to admit that was a joke. Honestly. The first chat representative I spoke with, naturally asked me for the item number. Which I provided. Searched my nearby local store and said after approximately 7 minutes, "Sorry, I do not see that item available at your store, or the nearby stores".
(This I already knew since I did the search myself) But Ok, I appreciated he did re-check for me. I then asked him how I could order the three pedant lights I needed, along with the professional installation I required.

That was the hard question. He said can you please hold while I get another chat specialist that would answer your question? OK... Rather than he give me incorrect information I appreciated he transfer me to someone who knew the answer(s).

This other chat specialist arrived, and after giving her the item numbers and the quantity of item(s) I required, again, did the same search I did 20 minutes ago and about 7 minutes the first chat specialist did.; Arriving at the same decision. They would have to be "special ordered" That wasn't a problem, as I told her I was not really in a rush for them.

I mentioned, I do have a military Discount that I would like to apply to my order. Oops... Wrong question. She went onto say the easiest and best way to order these are to go to your local Lowe's and have them order them directly. After all this, I agreed. Rather than have a on-line mistake I rather go to the Lowe's in person.

I think I am a gluten for punishment. After retiring from the military after 33 years, one would think I saw enough aggravation.

So, yesterday I went to the local Lowe's bringing a copy of the on line items I needed and proceeded to the customer service desk. Wrong choice. This associate told me I had to go to the Lowe's sales person in that department, which was Electrical. After searching and walking through different asiles looking for the electrical sales person. Not finding that particular individual. who would take my order. Other Lowe's representatives would not entertain taking my order stating I would have to find the electrical asile person? OK... Getting more frustrated by the minute, I finally found someone who was in the Electrical Department. Showing him the printed copy of the items I needed, he stated, "forthat I would have to go to the Pro Window. They would take my order. So again, I found the Pro Window, and saw I was the first on lIne. Finally finding success, I showed the gentleman what I wanted to order. He stated sorry, the pro window is actually closed you would have to come back tomorrow (Monday).

With that, the frustration was reaching paramount proportion, I walked back to the customer service asking for the store manager, knowing a managerial specialist would rectify this dilemma I washaving.

Well, after waiting another 5-10 minutes, and what I thought was a store manager, assisting me ultimately was not, but some shift supervisior (Tanya) I told her how long I was in Lowe's trying to order these items., and being shifted from person/place to place. She told me, after taking my copied paper I printed"I will make sure someone calls you tomorrow (Today) to have your order placed. I mentioned to her in no uncertain terms no one will call, and I will be going to Home Depot, which I should have in the first place. Again, she stated someone will call! I laughed to my self, and left Lowe's for the last time.

I know this complaint will turn on deaf ears and nothing will come of it. But that's OK, because I feel better I am stating all this. In closing: I have never been to a more disorganized store in my life. Aside from the personnel, not knowing what;s going on, or the knowledge of the products, or at least to find someone who can make believe in helping you.

Thank you Lowe's for giving me this opportunity to vent.

Good-bye

Robert A. Costa

Desired outcome: Nothing
