On 5/22/10 I purchased a Lincoln LS from Scion/Lakeland Toyota. At the same time I also purchased a premium warranty policy for $2, 680.00 to cover a period of 36 months from the date of purchase. I have since then had several expensive repairs and on both occasions the warranty company provided excuses as to why the repairs were not covered. On June 6, 2012, I had extensive repairs totally in excess of $4, 000. The warranty company sent an investigator to the repair shop and said the repairs were not covered by warranty because the car had in excess of 55, 000 miles. The car when I purchased it had over 60, 000 miles so when the warranty was purchased it already exceeded the 55, 000 mile limit making the warranty defunct before it was ever purchased. My experience is that one excuse after another is offered when any repairs are submitted as a claim. If the reason for refusing to honor the claim is disputed, the warranty company offers another reason in it's place. I have attempted to resolve this with Richard Pryce at Lakeland Toyota for months. He has promised to follow through and has not done so. The repairs occurred in June. It is now October and I am still being given excuses with no resolution in sight. I would never do business with this company again and absolutely would never advise anyone to purchase a warranty policy as the company has no intention whatsoever of honoring the terms of the warranty-EVER.
