There is an assitant store manager who was transferred to this store. He was transferred there because of problems he had in another store. He immediately came into our store and started perusing everyones attendance record. He has singled out women, having tenured women who had been there 18 years and 13 years, fired. He then focused on me, a woman, and has gone to great lengths to have me fired after I just received an award for having led out district (11 stores) to number 1 in Installed service leads and sales. He gets away with this because the store manager has no guts and won't question him. It is pathetic to see these assistant store managers and department heads abuse company policy but when there is a legitimate reason for an error that occured, I got fired. Plus, knowing there are men who have the same type of infractions on thier records, why are they not disciplined the same way the women are. He actually did write up one man for leaving the sales floor...to go take his diabetes medicine. His name is Jim Tate and he is the worse example of management there is. He is the poster boy for how NOT to work. He hides the whole time he is there. If you call him to the front for a customer, he gives you 20 questions while the customer is standing there hearing everything. Then, he MIGHT come up and talk to them. The very thing that is drummed into every associates head, that is customer service first above all, got me fired. How ironic. I took a call from a suctomer having a $3800 shed installed, and was about to cancel it over a $250 permit, which caused me to walk in the door a few minutes late. I did talk to the customer and avoided her cancelling the order. Forgetting to clock in, I didn't notice until the following day when the time clock beeped indicating a mispunch. Looking up my time I saw that and filled out a time and attendance slip. I filled in my regular work hours because I was there and dealing with a customer issue. For this, I was fired. Teach your associates to give A-1 customer srevice but when it serves your vindictive purpose, fire them for it.
