On 7/12/23, I went to the CVS pharmacy (why650 San Ramon Valley, Danville) to pick up a prescription. This was after the lunch break and the pharmacist was an Asian male, short, and appeared to be in his thirties. He was standing in the area next to the register talking loudly and laughing. He did nothing else to relieve the ever growing line. I completed my transaction with the clerk who stated the pharmacist wanted to talk. The male came out and I explained I had been taking the meds for over 5 years and was totally aware of the interactions. He insisted on asking me medical related questions and I advised he was violating my privacy/Hippa rights. At this point, in a loud voice he states”it says here you have problems with your liver”. I said again there is no problems and he walked off.
I strongly believe that this person and others I encounter, form an opinion from the prescribed medications and minimal medical history they document.
I retired after 24 years of law enforcement and was exposed to bodily fluids. I contracted hep C and went through the interferon treatment which left me with bad side effects. I also have severe back problems and suffer chronic pain. In short, I am not someone off the street trying to get high and should not be question by a loud condescending pharmacist who is rude. The staff at this store has recently turned over with this being one of little respect for the customer. They are not doctors and there appears to be inflated ego at play with judgement being made on minimal info.
Desired outcome: Official reprimand to the pharmacist and training for him and the other staff
