Ralphs Grocery - e142

i have just been to ralphs and had a very unhappy experience. i wrote a check there as i always do and they said code E 142 they cannot except my check. I asked what is code E142...they said you cant write more then 2 checks a day..i said i did not write 2 checks today...they said...go call scan. I said by why I don't have any outstanding checks? Meanwhile a couple behind me started screaming at me - lady get out of the line so we can pay - we want to get out of here. I could not beleive this was actually happening to me..I said please be patient I just want to know why they won't take my check. I am in here all the time and never had a problem.

I called from the managers booth and i stood there 35 minutes with having two knee replacements and a cage up my back has changed my patience waiting standing up for any length of time if it is not my choice. The guy named Lamont kept on asking me over and over again for the routing number of my check and my license number. the he asked me what year was my drivers license issued. I was so embarressed and absolutly humilated in front of all the checkers and box boys and patrons. I could not beleive it - I felt like I had been arrested and being held a prisoner now with my shopping cart which they would not let me leave with the groceries till i called.

they could not find any unpaid check written by me...so I handed the phone to mr. Washington ...and he said to call another number that is RALPHS direct and again they could not find any check written by me...so finally the manager said sorry and hour later...and I said I am sorry to...and asked him how much money do you make an hour? He said it does not matter. I said well it does, because you just wasted one hour of my time...he said well here is a gift certificate for $10 I said, sorry. If I as a customer makes a mistake you make them pay $25 so this time you made the mistake...PAY UP?

...all i bought was a pizza and some grapefruit juice, a dvd ...but they put a call into the manager and said i would not take their $10 gift certificate I wanted $25.Manager said the head guy will talk to me tommarro. I said well if I have to come back a second time and wait another hour be prepared to pay me $50 for 2hours...

I was not happy when I left at all. A very unhappy customer Sondra Berry Young [protected]

I have noticed that Ralph's store almost every week would have an item on sale for an excellent price, and the same item nearby for a regular, or even sale price, much higher than in the other location. Then when you buy the item it is charged at a full price, 2-3 times higher, and they hope you'd accept that. If you do not, they do a "price check" and tell you - "look, this item is on sale for $9.99, not $3.79". The item is exactly the same, volume/brand/quantity/ID number. But, they say, " we are out of " the cheaper one. Or "the quantity is wrong". But now they are so bold that everything is the same but they just don't give you and explanation. I have watched this happen to poor senior citizens that are forced to give their last penny to get the medicine they need, that costs them triple of what they came to the store ready to pay. And now it happened to me several times - and all they say -"We can give you a 1800 number to call" - and which idiot is going to call such a number to waste another hour out of their life. Even homeless value their time and emotional life more that speaking to a computer about "leaving a customer comment" for 30 minutes.

THIS IS AN OBVIOUS SCAM, NOT AN INNOCENT MISTAKE, AND WE ALL KNOW THAT. THIS HAPPENED MORE TIMES TO US IN THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS THAN IN ALL OF OUR LIVES BEFORE. WE SHOULD NOT JUST TAKE IT BUT NEED TO SPEAK UP.

I, PERSONALLY, WILL AVOID PLACES LIKE THAT, AND WILL SPEAK FOR THE WEAK AND POOR PEOPLE I SEE COUNTING PENNIES TO PAY UP TO RICH FAT SUPERMARKETS.

Beware of Ralphs super service center, 2805 n hwy 89 Chino Valley, AZ. Took my vehicle in for services, received quotes that were way less than bill turned out to be example [8 quarts trans fluid quoted $76 but charged $252] Asked also for cooling system flush, charged for two gallons anti freeze when car only needs three quarts and they used the wrong type so must pay someone else to do it right! My bill ended up being over $2600 and they would not even let me ask one question! Car was done [according to them]but still made me wait until I demanded my bill so I could pay get my key and get out of there! BEWARE!

I went in to Ralphs at 23716 El Toro Road, Lake Forest, CA 92630
to purchase four $50 visa gift cards. I had never purchased any before. There was no price listed at the point of sale so I assumed they were for sale at the face value of $50. When I purchased them, I noticed that the store charged me $4.95 for each of the four cards. I told the manager I did not know that they were charging me $4.95 per card so I wanted to cancel the sale. He said it was too late "all sales were final" I told him that had I known that I never would have purchased them. It was not displayed anywhere other than on the receipt.By the time of obtaining the receipt, it would be too late. I think this is a classic example of bait and switch. I have contacted the company but they refuse to refund me $4.95 per card.

Ralphs Grocery - bad service

I went to Ralphs on 211 E Foothill Blvd. After I've selected some groceries and proceeded to the checkout counter. I punched in my telephone number for the Club Card account. The Checker, a woman named Cathy Rivier, took and slid a DVD that I was going to purchase intitled Carrie across really hard scratching the cover of the DVD. She made a remark very nastily that it was a really old movie and called to a co-worker and confirmed it out loud with them. I looked at her and said that I thought her behavior was rude and asked who was the manager. She pointed to a lady with long curly black hair and a red sweater and then shouted do you want to know my name too? I don't give a f**k!. She snatched off her name tag and then slammed it down on the pay counter on my hand. I then took it and threw it off. I said that I would file a law suit and then she said that she didn't give a f**k and was going to kick my a**. I went to where she was and told her go ahead, kick my a** and that is when the manager game and stood between us and then asked me to leave. I told her that I wanted to speak to someone because she had hit me on the hand. The manager, Duane, came out and asked me what happened. After I've finished explaining, he just asked me if I had paid for the groceries. I've contacted the police to report the woman for battery but they all just stuck together, lied and said nothing happened and that she did not hit me. The officer went by what they said and did not even give me a police report.

On a previous time, I had gone there on fathers day to purchase a gift for my father and brought some crab legs and a bottle of rum. The cashiers were passing them around and playing with them making comments. I just left them on the counter and made a comment to them that they were not supposed to play with food that people are trying to buy.
