Tom Montgomery, owner of the US Wellness Chamber of Commerce, has been scamming chiropractors across the country for the past year. He offers the doctors to become the Corporate Wellness provider for local corporations but in fact all he does is take the doctors money and rips them off. Please everyone stay far away from this company.

I have personally been ripped off by Tom Montgomery. I bought into his BS and not only lost my money but had 7 fellow doctors all lose their money. I was told I would be compensated for bringing other doctors into his program and all I got was 12 months of song and dance. I filed complaints with the BBB, Texas Attorney General, NJ Attorney General, and a few other organizations. I think it's quite clear that this company is a complete scam. I was also threatened by Tom Montgomery that he would sue me for millions because of my review of his company on this site.

His new venture now is financial wellness workshops - a non- profit organization offering a free, Grant -Funded credit Program and a free home buying program for credit challenged buyers. I am sure he is scamming families out of their money promising them that they could be their own CEO of their own company and enjoy the tax benefits of owning their own business. You should be licensed but though his company you'll pay for of $5000 and make weekly payments while building a team of Educators to get the word out and Consultants, showing people how to save and mange their money. 700credit.org and the new one mysmartmoneyplan.org. I don't trust a word this man says anymore and I am sorry I signed up.

I am a family doc in NJ who was struggling to pay off student loans when I signed on with Wellspring in 2008. I found the company on the Internet when I was looking for a way to pick up some parttime work that would add to my take home pay. It all sounded so good...I get training from the company, get set up with corporate contacts, go onsite to give health talks, review employee lab results, make recommendations, etc., the same stuff I do in my office practice. Tom actually flew up to NJ to meet me, nice suit, showed me pictures of his kids, very personable and charismatic. I was aware that I would be paid a monthly stipend, but then came the fine print...the monthly stipend would equal the amount that I owed a "leasing company" that he got me to sign on with to "pay for" the training; in other words, I signed a lease in the amount of about 35K to get training from his company, then I was to receive a "stipend" from Tom monthly to cover this "lease." Sign away I did and created my own nightmare... How did I not have the business savvy to see through this? Any doc reading this might recognize that we are not the brightest when it comes to business decisions. Other than buying my home, I had never dealt in large sums of money like this before; besides, I had borrowed a ton of money to go to medical school, this seemed like the price to pay to get involved in this company. And Tom really seemed on the up and up, I trusted the guy b/c why would I have reason not to? The first month, the "leasing fee" was withdrawn from my bank account around the same time Tom deposited my first stipend, phew! No problem there! I went through my training on the phone and online with another family doc he had recruited, standard health and behavior modification motivational stuff. Second month: no work contacts yet, but the "leasing fee" was withdrawn from my bank account...and no stipend from Tom! Frantically, I called his office freaking out that $1395 had been withdrawn from my bank account and had not been replaced by Wellspring (the 35K or so I borrowed for Tom had been disbursed to him as his training fee, but I was paying the third party lender back). I did not speak to Tom, but just freaked out on the phone at whoever I was speaking to and within a few days the $1395 was in my bank account. The third month, I got a call on a Friday afternoon from the doc who had "trained" me telling me that he had just discovered earlier in the week that Tom was a fraud, the whole thing was a Ponzi scheme, he had about 30 chiropractors and family docs from around the country sign these leases (and he pocketed the money) and promised to cover their leases with a monthly stipend, except that he was not paying anyone a stipend and there was no work to offer! When he ran out of docs to sign up, he ran out of money to pass on to those who were already signed up. He was in the process of calling each of us to tell us the story. A bunch of us managed to start communicating by email. Some docs started paying back the leases on their own. Some brought lawsuits to try to stop the leases. Then I got a call from the FBI--Liz Lehrkamp was the agent working on the case at the time. She told me Tom had done this before, had other sham companies that he signed up doctors for, then collected the money and folded. She thought he was probably very good at covering his tracks and did not know if they would be able to bring a case. She said the govt had to prove he did all this intentionally and was not just "bad at his job." Tom starting emailing us acting totally innocent about it all, blaming other people in the company for driving it into the ground, asking us to stick with him, he thought he could reorganize and keep the company going, etc. THEN I GOT SUED. By Axis Capital, the third party lender I had borrowed the money from in the first place. Not a pleasant experience. Some guy knocks on your door one evening and serves you with papers at your home in front of your kids, there is a car marked "county sheriff" parked in front of your house, your husband is shaking with rage that you have been so stupid as to get the two of you into this position and you feel like jumping off a bridge to make it all go away. I took everything to my personal atty--he told me my best bet was just to declare bankruptcy, the lease I signed with Axis Capital was air tight and the contract I signed with Tom was impenetrable. He told me to not even show up in Court to argue for myself, b/c I would be laughed out. I signed, I owed the money. I started to get very nasty and threatening phone calls from Axis Capital, some thug telling me I would lose my house, be ruined, demanding immediate payment, wanting me to fill up my credit cards with the debt I owed to them, etc. We did seek advice from a bankruptcy atty but decided not to do that in the end. The court found against me (decided I did indeed owe Axis the 35K) and then the bill was sent to collections. I have not paid it off yet and there is still an outstanding judgment against me. Some time after the dust settled and I could look myself in the mirror again with feeling filled with self-hatred, I looked Tom up online. Surprise! A new company called US Wellness Chamber of Commerce with his name on it! There was mention on the website of two Texas companies who had signed on with him--I immediately called them both and told them my story and they dropped their affiliation with him. One woman was so grateful, she said they had been a little suspicious of the company, but could find no reason not to work with Tom, she thanked me repeatedly for saving them the hassle (or worse) of dealing with him.
I was saddened to find in these reports that he is still at it. This man is the ### of the earth. I wish only bad things to happen to him and his family. My only hope is that he is creating such bad karma for himself that someone will eventually get him into big, big trouble. He needs to be behind bars. Or maybe some old style Western justice down in Texas would put an end to this. He is evil.
ANY DOUBTS? CALL THE FBI, LIZ LEHRKAMP WAS THE AGENT WHO WAS WORKING ON THE CASE IN 2008. ASK THEM TO LOOK UP TOM MONTGOMERY AND WELLSPRING. AND THEN THANK YOUR LUCKY STARS THAT YOU READ THIS BEFORE SIGNING UP WITH HIM!

Yes, the newest website that he started is www.healthypeoplegrant2010.org It is still out of Frisco, TX if that tells you anything. Tom Montgomery is shifting things around to get everyone off his tail! It looks like he failed again.

All of you should really study everything about Tom Montgomery and his motive behind everything he does. I have investigated him and his work. So far, I would like to share that there's nothing but a win-win opportunity for everyone. The corporates get their employees to improve their workforce because of their employees are feeling better about themselves physically, mentally and emotionally. Their spouses get benefits from this wellness program as well. The companies get higher productivity and lower rate of absenteeism. What's so bad about that? Eventually, it creates a better economy and then of course better health environment for America. There are some trials and errors with everything someone creates, but as long as they keep improving their system, things will become better. I believe in someone who puts in their efforts in creating things to improve the community, economy and better lives of others, rather than listening to someone who sits still and likes to pick on and finds faults on things and about others. Until we change our mindset, our country, economy, environment will not change. Thank you.

He has ripped a few off in Atlanta, including myself that were too eager to jump in with our hook, line and sinker. Contacting the FBI in Texas with this complaint along with other authorities is the most direct way to stop him.

Getting people not to fall for it will take time and some how Linked In has got to pull all stuff off concerning the Healthy People Grant 2010 that comes from this source.

Like any program the individual doctor needs to get involved and not just sit back and wait for Thom Montgomery to babysit them. Thom has weekly teleconfereces telling the Coaches what to do and how to do it. It is the responsiblity of the doctor/health coach to recruit risk managers to go to companies. Or the doctor can do what I do and contact companies and set up meetings. These companies are dying for help.
I have seen many programs over the 38 years I have been in practice and this is the best for corporate wellness. I have also seen doctors get involved with various programs and do nothing but sit on their thumbs and cry foul. If you would just call two company's I bet you could schedule a meeting with at least one if not both.
Quit your whinning and do something that you were told to do.

So you don't think this is Thom Montgomery I am signing my name.

I know of people who are $60k+ in losses from this man and company.

Call the FBI and ask about this man or company.

Take this as your wake up call as this man will talk you into believing this is all an up and up company IT IS NOT!

Thomas Montgomery, Alias Dr. S also the CEO of United States Wellness Chamber of Commerce is truly running a scam. I signed up with the organization followed the directions thus realizing a month into the business that's its not working. None of the people are interested in doing the business with this organization. Simply because Thomas promises to deliver presentaton that are filled with holes. I contacted Thomas a month into donng the business to request my money back. Thomas said just send me a letter in writing and let me get with my Board of Advisors. I do now beleive the Board of Advisors are ficticious and he is a one man show. I also beleive he gets people into this business with no intentions to deleiver any of the things he has in the paperwork. It is also my understanding that Thomas has secureed money through a private grant which will also be exposed shortly. We will be contacting them to let them know if in fact it's true, how he's operating. I did that and i didn't hear back from Thomas. After two weeks i contacted him then he tells me i'm not able to get a refund and I can't quit. I told him i do not want to do business and i also informed him that he's not fulfilling the responsbilities of the US Wellness Chamber of Commerce and would like my "2x money back guarantee" that he promised. Thomas and i have been going around for month about me getting my $495.00. He never had any intentions of giving me my money back.

I am would not only like to file this as one of the many formal complaints. But i will be contacting FTC AND the FBI. I will also like to file a class action law suit against him and his company. I have a law firm who is interested in taking the case. I need for anyone who is interested in bringing any rriminal charges against him and his company, please contact me via codiemjy@swbell.net. I will be collectitng information to submit to attorneys law firm.

This is an ongoing scam and Montgomery has a few aliases... not only his name but also his company. Any posts by this "Dr. S" are from Montgomery himself. If you have fallen prey to this man, please contact the FTC or FBI. This "company" has had to revoke it's nonprofit status. There is another lawsuit developing against him so if you do your research, you will see there are quite a few other disgruntled folks ready to get this guy behind bars.

I agree that Montgomery and the Chamber definitely over promise and under deliver. They continually charge doctors promising to set them in contact with local corporations, however nothing ever comes to fruition. Because of their past, they have changed their company name multiple times to help continue their scam. I would advise others to avoid this company.

I don't agree with these negative comments at all. The Chamber's leadership team has worked diligently for over ten years to help create a healthier nation. This year alone, they have positively impacted thousands of people through their wellness programming including with new clients like AAA, Sysco, and Jackson Hewitt.

If you have a beef with Montgomery or the Chamber, then go through their arbitration process as you should have done originally (as we all agreed to do so through our Chamber agreements).
