Absolutely a SCAM! The Government has the exact same service for less money. They also charge a non-refundable $45 which is meaningless. Highly recommend NOT using them. Complete SCAM!

Gary - you have to read the fine print to find out that you won't get the $45 back. In the larger print it says they will refund your money within 24 hours. Also, they don't provide any additional services that government can't do...and they won't charge you as much. If you used this service, then you were ripped off. Also, what does the $45 go towards if I change my mine? It's ridiculous to charge that much while giving 24hour notice. I did call several times and there were at least 2 people who were nice, but were completely unwilling to help. The service is a scam, but best of luck to you if you don't want to do research about it beforehand. I'm posting this complaint so that other people know NOT to use them and as you can see, there are other people who agree.

From these reviews it seems you all have been having issues with this company.

Here is one alternative [i have seen it many times at work] go to your local state attorney/court house [if they are the same building] there is a passport renewal office [mine does, idk about other state attorney/court houses] where you just pay a processing fee and that is it.

Yep, their services ARE NOT NEEDED. You'll only pay twice. You pay them $90 and then the post office another $100 —$130.

Just go to the post office!

THEY ARE A SCAM! Just go directly to the Post Office for a passport renewal. All they did was send the forms you get at your local post office.

I could not agree more. PLEASE do not use this company. You got off easy with only losing $45.00!
You do not have to use this company. Even though it looks like you would need to use them to get a new passport. please just go to a Government office or the post office. You can print all the forms for free on the Government web sight. This company is a complete SCAM!

Total scam. After I quickly realized i still needed to go through all the regular hoops with getting a passport i tried to call and cancel my order. They said they would cancel but would charge the $45 non-refundable fee. Does it really take $45 dollars to take / place / refund an order... I realize i should have researched the company first but the US passport name through me off.

I would advise anyway to stay away from them.

I gave them my info and $69 and they sent me back the WRONG from with the info filled in and instructions on what to send in to the Department of the state AND the fees to process! I sent it all in and more fees to Dept of Sate and they sent it all back telling me it was wrong form! There is NO need to use this site and it is a total rip off!

Don't be stupid and give them your SS number, your address, your parents name, etc. This is a perfect way to share your information with an identity theft group. WE ARE ALL STUPID FOR NOT DOING OUR OWN HOMEWORK. NOW THEY HAVE YOUR PARENTS NAMES, THEIR DATE OF BIRTHS, WHERE THEY WERE BORN, YOUR NAME, YOUR SS NUMBER, YOUR CC NUMBER, YOUR PHONE NUMBER, YOUR ADDRESS, YOUR DOB AND WHERE YOU WERE BORN. WE ARE ALL A BUNCH OF STUPID PEOPLE ..ME INCLUDED.

This is most definitely a scam. The government would not even accept their forms! I protested through my credit card company but to no avail. The $45 for absolutely no service is ridiculous. I wish I had not been so trusting.

I did not receive my passport service. I called to find out what the delay was and I was told they tried to contact me by phone, which they did, but did not leave a message. I was told they sent me an email. I did not receive an email and asked them to send me a copy of the original email. They can't provide me with that. The company is very deceiving to consumers. I am usually a smart consumer. I wish I had looked at the BBB and Dept. Of Consumer Affairs before trusting this company. There are warnings about them all over the internet. Shame on me. Shame on them!

I totally agree with this position. I too was burned for the $45 non-refundable fee and will make others aware as well. I believe this is an integrity issue and should be dealt with accordingly.

These people are total ###. They run a dirty lowlife scam business and vehemently defend their actions. They also quietly tweak their website to cover their ###. Not much, but just enough so they have their legal bases covered.

Passportonline is totally SCAM website. I recently try to renewal my passport. I did not search on web get this website. My wife pass it to my and it was late night and I did not pay much attention. So, I follow the steps and try to renewal my passport. However, I did not have my current expired passport with me therefore I did not complete the process. To me, the whole transaction should be avoid because it was not complete succussfully. I didn't even know I was charged for $129 until my wife notice me the online statement. So, I call them and ask for refund but they collect $45 non-refundable fee.

I notice similar items in your stories, such as "their directions didn't work." I'm wondering if it ever works or if this is just a way to get your credit card information and then to collect a $45.00 non-refundable fee." Did most of you NOT receive the proper downloads, documents, forms and/or instructions?

Worst mistake ever.they advertise that you can order your passport online, instead they are a third party company. Instead of making one stop at your post office, you have to make several stops to get all your stuff together. In the end, they dont even know what they are doing. I talked to them twice and there was nothing about an authorization letter. They dont know what they are doing. Just go to your post office and save your money! I got my passport in 9 days through the post office.

uspassportsonline.com charges you to mail your documents to the government. uspassportsonline.com is not part of the US government. They stole $159.00 from me. I didn't not sign any documentation. I didn't send them any thing and when Bethani Gee of uspassportsonline.com in Florida called me I told her that I didn't want them doing anything for me. She agreed to give me a refund, but didn't and now I'm disputing this charge on my credit card. Less then five minutes after I had submitted my credit card info to uspassportsonline.com I left the site and found the USPS site. I did it all form the USPS site in about 10 minutes then I went to the post office the next day and sent my passport to the real State Department not the phonies called uspassportsonline.com. Today three weeks later I have my renewed passport.

What a debacle. This website sure tricked me. Too bad there are always dishonest people out there who live by stealing from those of us who work hard for our money and enjoy traveling the world. The saying "what goes around, comes around" is so true but I only wish that I would get to witness it.

This service is tricky scam. It looks like the real deal. Being my first time getting a passport renewal, I wanted to see what the total cost would be to get a passport renewed at the cheapest price possible. Usually most sites, will allow you a final confirmation of the bill accompanied with a "SUBMIT" button... Not this site. It says three easy steps where all the pages have a "NEXT" button. Then, it is at the end - after they charged your card - where they breakdown the total amount, including the $45 nonrefundable fee. I called the next morning, as soon as I possibly could, to cancel the service and the representative resolved my case with the exception of mentioning how much the cancellation fee costed. I called back again to resolve the cancellation fee, as I revoked their services within 24 hours.
Terrible customer service and horrifically scamming site.

The website is tricky. It said next not submit so my daughter thought it was next not submit order.  She was trying to see how cheap she could get a renewal and how fast it  would. They didnt have  a button to CHARGE the card.. just to type more info. She didnt realize the card was charged until she received the email receipt
and then she called me to cancel. But too late they insisted they paid us govenment $45 reservation fee that they can't lost that money. When I called they kept saying "You called me liar" that I didn't said at all. The attitude was terrible.

I agree with everyone here. The site is cleverly designed to trick people into thinking they can fill out a form and get their passport renewed quickly. They are not up front about where the money goes on their site. They also have a "next" button after you fill out your credit card information that fools the customer into thinking they can review their purchase before actually confirming it as almost every online site does. After you click "next", your credit card is charged and you are hosed.

After calling to cancel, the representative told me he would take care of everything subject to the cancellation fee. He was not up front about how much the cancellation fee and went out of his way to brush over it. In fact it seemed like the speech he gave was designed to attempt to make the customer feel comfortable and brushing over the cancellation fee. When I asked the representative how much the charge was, his voice changed completely and he mumbled the amount. The tone in his voice showed a great sense of shame. It's obvious that the representative knew that the company is doing something wrong -- scamming people out of their money. When I asked why the cancellation fee costs so much, the representative could not give me a good answer. This complaint is not about the money. It's about the terrible and shady business practices that uspassportonline uses to scam people out of their money.

Sounds like we all get to meet "Stephanie". The only "idiot" is the person that believes you are not working for the US Passport Online, LLC. "HappyCustomer01" aka Employee of the company. Y'all have no morals and charged me $45 for the 20 mins that it took me to call and cancel. Then lie to me about BS charges as the reason why you couldn't refund me.

You are an absolute idiot if you think this company is a scam. Just because you either don't know how to read or are too lazy to do so doesn't mean you should give this company a bad review. They are very clear about their service and all of the information is on the website before you enter any information. You can even call them and ask questions before placing an order. I needed my passport for a trip in less than a week and US Passport Online, LLC. helped me get my passport so I didn't have to miss my trip. All of the case managers I spoke to were very helpful and informative, especially Dana. If you don't need your passport expedited, then you shouldn't have placed an order with them. Do you sign contracts without reading them first? Then stop complaining about them taking $45 for your dumb mistake.
