I signed up for 18 months of Urban Active gym time and paid the amount with a credit card. a year later I get a threatening phone call from a collection agency saying I owe money. When asked why, all they could say was "it was in your contract". Not a good answer - I am sure no one pointed it out. then I get an email saying I owe money and to call the local gym. I call and find out I owe money for a facilities fee. It's an ok gym but I am thinking I won't rejoin, you never really know what your final cost will be. Look up Urban Active in Ohio and see the grade of D. Ask about extraneous fees if you feel you want to join. Don;t take their first offer of a monthly fee, keep trying for a lower one. they will try to stick you with a $49 setup fee - make them waive that or give you more months time in place of the extra money.

I think Attorney general or BBB need to step in ! they are bunch of liers working in the place ! they tell you all the lies possible to get you signed up and collect your credit card # or bank info ! their equipments are old and broken and they charge maintanence fee as one of their hidden fees that they don't tell you about. research more before signing up !

My experience with both the Urban Active in Powell and Graceland is the rudeness of their employees. They are very brusque and disrespectful. The gyms really need to give a refresher course to all of their employees regarding customer service.

There are alot of hidden fees that you dont know about when you sign on. One is a $15 maintenance fee that they just take out of your checking account twice a year, yet the machines were "out of order" for over a month in the fall. What was my maintenance fee used for? If you call the office they are no help. They give you the run around. They won't give you the number of the home office. Very very "unfriendly" if you have a problem. If no problems its a wonderful gym. If there were a gym as close to my home as this one is I would quit this one in a heartbeat. They also will not add classes that are actually convenient for the people that would attend them. They are not "user Friendly" at all. They stand there and try to look busy and as soon as you approach one of them they take off. I have written to the home office several times-never get an answer back. Get everything in writing or they will not honor what they tell you. Watch your bill every month as they add fees. They charge a $10 fee to end your contract that has already ended.
