University of the People review: Refund of unprocessed application for student admission

On 23 October 2020, I was excited to apply at the University of the People to further my studies online. The opportunity was appealing and a tuition free education was a wonderful prospect.

Subsequently on the same date, I made a payment of USD60.00 as per the requirement of the University of the People in 2020 to pay an application fee. I made a payment but never received proper service from the University of the People.

Since 30 October 2020, I attempted for months to reach out to the University of the People to provide proof of receipt of payment or acknowledgement of my application but all my attempts were futile.

However, on 1 June 2021, I received an email from an Admission Advisor of the University of the People who promised to refund me. To date no refund was processed by the University of the People.

I remain frustrated and disappointed with the unethical conduct by the University of the People that collected application fees from me without regard of my intentions and took advantage of me.

Claimed loss: USD60

Desired outcome: Refund USD60 and apology.
