Uniquely Cats Veterinary Center, Boulder, CO review: Outrageous prices, and poor treatment of my sick cat

Be warned I had such high hopes for healing my senior cat's (15 y/o) sinus infection and getting him on his way to improved health through holistic nutrition at our initial visit last week. Instead I received the highest bill i've ever seen for an initial vet visit and senior bloodwork panel at over $600. Six hundred dollars! Was told they wouldn't treat his sinus infection because the root cause was a bad upper molar. So I needed to get my cat in for a full dental right away with a cost estimate of $2,500 - $5,400. Read those numbers again. Insane. I was able to pay nearly the full $600+ due at the time of service except for $68 which i'd take care of end of month when my pension check came in. Their bulldog receptionists (shae) called me nearly daily demanding I pay the remaining balance immediately. Meanwhile, my senior cat is getting sicker and sicker as his sinus infection traveled to his lungs. I took him to a completely different vet today who has over 40 years in the business. He took a look at the lengthy report I was sent by uc about my cat's bloodwork results along with treatment plan of the outrageous dental procedure. This experienced and truly wonderful vet and human being, who is there to care for the animals and the people who love them, reviewed this outlandish report and cost estimate I received and he called absolute bulls* t! Then he diagnosed and lovingly treated and provided medication for my cat who is already feeling better this evening after starting meds. Yes, he needs a dental but our new vet will charge a price that's back on planet earth at a few hundred dollars once his infection is clear in a couple weeks. I'm disgusted by the unscrupulous gouging of pet parents by vets who are in it for the bucks. Uniquely cats: you should be ashamed of yourselves. Do not reply to this post stating you're sorry I didn't have a better experience and that I should call your office to discuss further. If you want this review to go away, then refund me half or better of what I paid you for absolutely nothing. I was quoted over the phone that the initial visit would be $200 and possible bloodwork an additional $100. Still too high but I agreed to that. Bait and switch. Shame on you.
