I am dealing with a man David Parker, LT. in Kabul, Afghanistan. The letters sent to me are all from scam sites, love letters. This has gone on for two weeks and then I get the request to request leave for him, and to send five hundred dollar ITune cards for communication to what he is calling, Transit Department. Being in the Army previously as an Administrative Specialist, I am aware of how all leaves work. I cannot request his leave, he must. Says he can't access his money. Gets upset when I send him the sites I pulled his plagered letters from. He tells me he loves me. Found through OKCupid dating site is where it all began. Has a Massachusetts phone number which he also texts from but does not answer the phone. My family was all military, including my husbands. They could call from anywhere outside the United States, so I am not understanding why this particular guy can't, and is asking for these funds. Sent me a military group picture, with everyone in camoflage and then his military uniform picture and a picture without a shirt on. The last two pictures are in a room in a house. Looked up the phone number and it is washington st, Massachusettes. Can you help me with this?

I met this guy on Tinder. He claim that his name was Matthew Whatley. I could absolutely report the same things that have happened to others. Claims he is in Syria, that his son is ill, that he will b coming back home next month. Even so far as to have the same pictures. How can someone do this...I am assuming that this is a total scam. How do I report this guy or get him caught?

WARNING WARNING!

I have also recently have been chatting with him ("Matthew Whatley, age 44"), he contacted me via Tinder. That ended abruptly today after I found him in a ton of lies. He told me he was currently in Demascus, Syria (5 month tour) and would return December 23rd. He would also be retiring when he returns. He is currently stationed at Ft McCoy (has been there for 3 years) Says he lives mostly on base and has an apartment in Wisconsin Rapids I have a friend that is a Ltd. Colonel in the Army and there are currently no troops deployed to Syria at this time. He sent me a picture of himself in his uniform, I asked when it was taken and he said a month ago. The US flag on his uniform is red, white and blue. When deployed overseas the flag is subdued, another lie on his part. He told me he was an Army medic combat, anyone in the Army calls themselves an Army combat Medic. Then he sends me another picture of him and his supposedly 12 year old son (who lives in Pennsylvania and goes to a Military Academy) and he has on a uniform that has a MP badge. Really, are you a Medic Combat (Combat Medic) or Military Police. When I questioned him on these things he got very defensive and basically told me to go to hell. A bit more info, he hasn't dated in 5 years after a devastating breakup. He lost his dad when he was 21 and inherited a home in Beverly Hills. His mother passed away last year. He is an only child. He says he is from Pennsylvania. Looks like he has 2 FB accounts (both with pictures that he sent me). Stay away from the creep, not sure what he is looking for but he is BAD NEWS!

I was sent a friend request from a Tomarchio Mark Anthony the picture of US Army soldier so I accepted it. Then he sends an IM and starts talking to me. I asked him about his family he states that he lost his parents when he was young and that he has 10 yr. old son which the grandmother watching was he is deployed and they are the only family he has. He states am Watson I work as US Military am from New York but presently in a country called Nigeria. We Where deployed over there to fight some terrorist called Boko Haram. I knew from his spelling and grammar that this was a scam so I asked him is this a scam and he said no. Next thing he is asking to request a Transit Leave so he could come see me. Curiosity killed the cat but not this cat. He gave me a telephone number of [protected] which I tried to call but keeps saying the google number is not available. I contacted FB and let them know that someone is passing as an army soldier they said they could not do anything about. I confronted the guy and told him I knew this was a scam that you cannot request leave of any kind for a soldier they have to do apply for leave themselves. He wrote back whatever. This guys are so slick women please be careful do not send any money to these guys.

I have been talking to someone I meet him on meetme by the name of SGM Matthew Whattley deployed to Syria widower for 5 yrs, wife was killed in a car accident when he was on deployment to Afghanistan and his son lived with his mom while deployed. Then he asked me if I had KIK or Facebook so we could message him that way. He gives me a number that I can text him and a email account of matthewrubin@textnow.me. I am sure this is a scam after 2 weeks of talking he said he needed to know if I could help him out by sending him money by Western Union to the DOD Secretary
Name: Sandra Rising
City: Lincoln Park
State: Michigan
Zip code : 48146
for medication for a chest cold and food because ISIS has managed to block all attempts to get supplies to them. So at this point I'm very suspicious and I tried to do all the research I can on line. So as I'm really suspicious but want to see how far this guy wants to go with this scam I send $150.00. Then he mentioned that it was only enough for the medication but he appreciated what I was able to do. Then as the next week goes on he stated that he put in for his Liberty Leave and wants to come back to the states to meet me and bring me to meet his mother and his son James in California. He then stated that he didn't put his Liberty Leave in soon enough and found out that his tour was going to be extended. So at this point he asks me to send a request to Transitservicedepartment@usa.com on his behalf stating that I was his fiancee requesting his Liberty Leave be approved. So when I research this email address I found this site. Attached are photos he sent me.

I have been chatting with this person about 2 weeks now, I have doubt on him, he wants me to send email to info.armyonduty@gmx.us, and said I need to send email to his commander requesting (his leave) for leave of absence, for this process I have to spend $4, 500.00, processing fees, which, for me it seems like spam, but the person who spoke with me seems genuine. There should not be any money involved if army request leave of absence, is it? I am confused. Please help...

Be careful, make sure you think this through. There's a good chance you'll send the $2, 500 and never see it again, but if you have it to waste then it is your decision.

scam! As a former member of the U.S. Navy I can tell you that firstly if the guy really was in the military he wouldn't be asking for money to come see you. Secondly if he really is a military member and deployed to a warzone then he probably has ten times that much saved up. Think about it... I the guy is single and assuming he has no bills then where is his check going every first and fifteenth of the month? it's going to a saving s account that's where it's going! Drop this guy and move on.
