What arrived was a biggest piece of rust ive ever seen . bolts into the manifold were broken and my garage had great difficulty removing them. after not having the car for 6 weeks finaly they got it going . Not impressed at all with the service. they said they would send me a letter giving proof the engine was low mileage becuase im selling the car . but after a lot of phone calls over a 10 month period i have had not success. Please save your money and go some where else.

Hello
I too have a similar story.. we bought an engine and were asked to send a cheque (I know this is stupid !) but at the time we thought they were a firm that were recommended to us by our garage, this turned out to be wrong as we found out later that they had found TRT or "Engine n Parts" as they are called on EBAY on 247 spares website.
The engine took over a month to arrive, it was the wrong engine and was certainly not as described, our mechanic said that apart from it being the wrong one, it was worse than the one we already had.
In short...we asked for a refund, were offered a replacement but for more money because it was better?! We declined as we had been fobbed off by so many people called Richard, Bob, Mr Rav etc with so many different stories about the delays etc we had lost confidence.
They are refusing to send our £1, 800 back until they get their engine back...and we are convinced that if we send the engine back they will say that we had damaged it and they would not give us our money back..
Unfortunately we live at the other end of the country from them. (or fortunately!) so we cant just pop around and do a straight swap, engine for cash.

Have found out that according to the Distance Selling Regs, we are not duty bound to send the engine back first to get a refund, because they never gave us any contract details and never gave us any terms and conditions at all including any right to cancel details... so they are obliged by law to give us an instant refund... BUT... they haven't and are now not returning emails, (I don't want to speak to them any more on the phone, as I hate their attitude)

The only positive thing is …..the boss of 247 spares.com knows about this and has suspended their account, from which they get about 18 K a month of business, ... then they send him a scanned photo of a cheque they had written out to us, to try to prove the matter was resolved, so that they can get back on the website.
Obviously they didn't send it even though I had asked them to send it recorded delivery.
Still waiting ...
I think the only way to get at them is to get through to all the spares websites, and if you have used one to find this lot, tell them as I have done and get them taken off the websites and cut off their oxygen.
I would love to hear from any of you other contributors... as I can’t rest until I see the end of this lot. And got my money back

ps I have found other angry consumers too.

Hello readers... This is my experience for this garage called TRT Engines Importers Ltd, 152-159 Moseley street, Cheapside, Birmingham, B120RY, Tel: [protected]...I had my Ford Transit luton van broke down on the 21st of June 2012. I have been quoted by this company to fit a second hand engine with only 45, 000 miles on the clock for £1, 500.00 fitted. I then agreed for this and they came to pick up my van with an extra cost of £100.00 on 26th of June, 2012. While they were working on the van, I have been asked if they can changed the tensioner plus timing chain for an extra cost of £250.00. I then agreed for that descision. The van has then been repaired and has been out on the 16th of August, 2012. As soon as I got home, as I live about 110 miles away from this company, I heard some knocking noise on top of the engine. I then informed the salesman called Bob. He advice me to drive to a local garage and let it be checked. I then informed him that it is still under warranty and I don't want to cause more damage for the engine. I then called AA to check for my van and I was told then that it is an engine problem. I called this company back and they were happy to have the van back with them to be repaired...On the 26th of August, Van is back to there premesis to be repaired. Days and more past days until it has been sorted...October 3, 2012 I then collected the van from this company and the director of the company was agitated towards me wanting to slap me as he was saying that I have ruined the engine, In the first place if they should have fitted a good engine then there would be no problems.
My van was back on the road, again as I was going home, I stopped on services and found out that oil is heavily leaking from front of the engine. I then stopped and rang this company and informed them about the problem. I have been adviced to add engine oil which I was always checking everytime.
On October 27, 2012, as usual, the van broke down in Bournemouth. Informed the company as it was still under warranty and they have agreed to repair the van so I ask the recovery people to send the van back in Birmingham. With all the phone calls since October, November, December and today the 11th of January 2013, I have not got my van back. I have been assured that it would be ready by Thursday or Friday but when I tried to call this company...Telephone does not work.. I have lost hope and patience with this company...This people really are so dishonest...
At the moment I don't know what to do next...anyone can help? I have asked Citizens advice Bureau and I will try to call them on Monday...

I wish to state my experience with TRT engines 152 - 159 Moseley Street, Cheapside, Birmingham B12 0RYMy vehicle a MAZDA 6 was collected by TRT engines on 21/02/12 to have a engine replacement at a cost of £850 for parts and £250 labour plus £192 transport costs, whilst they were working on my car they told me I would also require a new clutch and fly wheel which would be an extra £350. I was trust worthy at this time and agreed to the extra costs.
On 02/03/12 I was informed by my insurance company that my vehicle had been involved in a collision on Sunday 26/02/12 where my vehicle hit a third party vehicle from behind.
I was not informed by TRT that my car was involved in an accident even though they had called me on the 01/03/12 to say my car was ready for collection.
On phoning the garage I spoke to the assistant manager who stated these allegations are untrue and that he had personally looked at my vehicle and there was no front end damage, he reasured me and stated in Birmingham there are a lot of problems where people make false accident claims to try and get compensation for injuries. He stated that these persons had probably got my car details when driving past TRT premises. He also stated that my car had not left the garage and would not of been working on that date and it would only be my engine fitter who would be authorised to do a test drive, he also stated that where the accident took place 10mins away that is not where a test drive would take place. I felt reasured by this and believed what had been said to me; I made arrangements to collect my car on 08/03/12. My insurance company also phoned TRT and were told the same; so in turn closed the case and informed 3rd party insurers that my vehicle was not on the road on date of accident.
On collecting my vehicle on 08/03/12 there was substantial damage to my front bumper, the nearside wing had also popped from door pillar and on opening the bonnet it catched on the wing and caused damage. On the rear seat of my vehicle was a childs toy that did not belong to us. On confronting the staff present which included the assistant manager and the boss who i was told was the company director, whose vehicle with personlised plates was at the premises; they still were in denial that car had been used, on telling them that my mileage was up by over 60 miles, they changed there story and said it had been road tested but still denied damage occurred in a road accident. They said the toy must belong to the valoter who cleaned my car after work complete. I said to them that on the phone he previousy told me that he had personally looked at me vehicle and said their was no damage to my vehicle, he denied he had said this to me on the phone. These people lied and lied changing their story each time, they said the damage might of occurred on the premises however they refused to give me their insurance details. They stated they will keep the car and put a new bumper on, I refused as I knew they were covering up a potential road accident, and by this time I did not trust them. However much I argued with them the more lies they told and the more aggresive they got and at one stage it got quite intimidating. Due to the lack of information I had at this time and it being a civil matter I had to pay my bill in full to get my car back, and let my insurance company deal with it.
I have since learnt the third party vehicle suffered substantial damage. The driver of my vehicle was using TRT trade plates and refused to give his details at the scene however he phoned the boss of TRT who arrived shortly afterwards in his own vehicle with personalised plates (with TRT in the reg). Both the driver and the boss refused to exchange insurance details and left the scene. The third party has taken photos to confirm my vehicle and the boss of TRT engines was at the scene.
My insurance company have a recording of one of their first telephone calls to TRT where they admitted my vehicle had been involved in an accident, but since then TRT have denied this and refusing to co-operate. They have also been aggresive on the phone to both insurance companies and the accident investigator who attended their premises.

In Summary TRT engines used my car on a Sunday when they are not open for business for their own personal use and have had a accident they have then lied cheated and conned not just me but 2 insurance companies. However an investigation is now underway and West Midlands police have been informed, as my vehicle as been used without my consent so there is grounds for Taken Without Owners Consent (TWOC) and as it's been in a accident its classed as Aggrivated TWOC.

Due to this being an ongoing investigation I am limited to what I can say but I will update as and when there are developments, I will be looking further into TRT business dealings. And until TRT engines take full responsibility i will persue all these matters through the courts and not stop to they are closed down, to prevent these crooks ever doing this to anyone else.

By the way the reconditioned engine that they fitted... if that is what it is and not stolen!..Sounds and goes fine but is Leaking oil on to engine and smelling car out and engine oil on dipstick looks very used, the oil filter is old scratched and dented. On changing gear it is no longer smooth but quite clunky...not sure if this is new clutch being faulty or they have put a different gearbox in. The 3 month warranty is not worth squidly squat as I will not trust these people with my car again. I will be having a independent engine specialist look at my car soon.

In short avoid these people like the plague they are dishonest, lying con artists...
