Tri Clear review: Unauthorized charge to card & damaged product 92

This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

I ordered Triclear with the understanding I would pay $6.95 shipping for a free trial. I discovered a charge to my credit card in the amount of $69.95 instead. I received the product in damaged condition, leaking all over the inside of box. We were afraid to use Triclear, unsure of what had happened. I was shocked to see no return address information, nothing about customer service or where to send my return.

I later contacted Triclear's customer service and informed them of the problem. They offered to ship a new product for free and canceled my account, then instructed me to contact them in the event I wanted more... We'll see.

Country of complaint: United States

Thank you very much guys. Seems to me that the best solution as of now is ProActiv. I myself had very bad acne in a period of my life, but I get a prescription cream called benzamycin, and I apply it every night before I go to sleep. I wash my face 3 times a day with "neutrogena fragrance-free original formula" soap. I hardly have any pimples left. It takes a few months until you see dramatic results, but it's worth the wait.

I tried out their free trial and my son had such a bad reaction I had to take him to the mad, and he was put on antihistamines. I asked them to cancel the account and they said they would. Instead they took a months charge out of my account but sent no product. I am about ready to give up on free trial anything.

Signed up for the free trial (small bottles) and was charged (unauthorized) to credit card another $75.90. 'Scott' was rude and said I had to return the product and would still be charged $29.90 for restocking, even though it was used. Was also not told up front I needed a number sent in off the outside box long recycled. This is a scam. It is a poor product that does not work.

My 11 year old signed up for a free trial of Tri Clear, with out my knowledge. When the package arrived there was no information or number to call, and my daughter told me she had used my debit card to pay for the postage and it was a free trial. Four motnhs later I received another box, called my bank and foudn out they had debited my account four months for jsut over $70.00. I called the company, and they offered me $40.00 to return the one package I have received. This company is a fraud! The product broke her face out so bad and caused such a rash she had to have antihitimines and steroids, as well as have deep scabbing later removed from ehr face, after only 2 days of using Tri Clear. Thsi is a scam, please do not fall for thier scams, as they offer no way out! I have to change my visa debit card number, as they hit it again just a few days ago.

I purchased the trial for $6.95 shipping only. The next month I was charged $69.95 and an additional kit was mailed to my home with a charge of $76.90.

Triclear is refunding the $76.90 but refuses the $69.95.

What a scam!

I ordered the FREE TRIAL for 6.95 shipping & handling and got charged for the full month - 69.95 when all I wanted was to try the product on my son's acne. When I contacted the number I got from my bank - MY BANK- the lady on the other end could barely speak English and refused to let me talk to her supervisor or anyone that I might be able to understand. I failed to cancel in 14 days of receiving the box that appears to be a trial. There is no number on what few papers come in the box - there is no number on the web site confirmation they send you - BUT... they informed me that there is a number on the back of each of the bottles... who looks at the bottles for a contact number... I guess I will from now on - but please- please - PLEASE boycott this product if you are considering it... you can get the same results else where for a lot less money and no hassle!

Boy, I wish I had found this web site before ordering that junk. Not only was I duped into the $6.95 FREE sample, but then two weeks later charged $75.90 on my credit card. When some dork in their customer service dept FINALLY answered the phone, I was informed of their restocking fee, if I returned the unused portion, they will credit me back $50.00. Yeah, I wont hold my breath. They're thieves, crooks, con artists.

BEWARE! These guys are hacking into your computers, and helping themselves to your credit info...I never even heard of this product, and it arrived yesterday in the mail...addressed to my 7 year old son! My credit card was charged for the shipping charges, and the address it was ordered from was not my computer...SOMETHING IS DEFINATELY FISHY IN THIS COMPANY! Report them to the Attorney General or consumer Affairs...I did... SHUT THEM DOWN!

I was also under the impression that I was getting a free trial and was also charged 69.95. I called the customer service representative and was told that I would be sent instructions on mailing my package back. Never received it. I think that everyone who has had problems with this company should file a lawsuit against them. I know I am.

I received two packages from Tri Clear not knowing who they were who sent them and there was no invoice or bill or return address. When the third one arrived I sent it back and opened one of the ones I got before. All there was inside besides the product was a paper with some advertising from tri clear. I called them and canceled, this was in july. In october I was looking over my bank statement and saw charges from seven different companies! Including charges from a company called girls gone wild! I am a 47 year old woman, what would I want with a product like that besides one for acne, I have never had a problem with acne even as a teenager. I asked my bank for copies of my statements from april, 07 to oct 07. When I was through there were $675.00 charges to my account. All of these companies spun from Tri Clear I found out later. The fraud dept. of my bank has re-embursed all the money thank the Lord, except one from Tri Clear because my address was a deliverable address it wasn't considered fraud. I still can't believe this has happened. I have never ever, I swear to God, given anyone over the phone or on the internet my personal bank account info. I am changing banks and watching my accounts a lot more closer from now on. It seems everyone is out to get you these days.

What a scam! First they apologize for charging twice on the initial cost (I remember it as about $7). They told me to keep the second delivery free. This caught me off-guard for a charge 3 weeks later for $69.95. This was a promotional for free Skype calls. I've notified Skype to make sure they drop Tricler, called Tricler at [protected] and e-mailed them at support@tricler.com. Finally, I had my bank re-issue a new card (they are also going after Tricler). I did find some use for the product though - it makes a decent lubricant for door hinges.

My 18 year old son ordered the $6.95 trial offer of Tri-Clear acne treatment. His acne has gotten alot worse since using it. He was previously on Pro-Active with decent but not totally impressive results so he decided to give tri-clear a try. Tri-Clear is definitely a bad product! The claim that it works better than pro-active are completely false. To add insult to injury my son was not aware of the 14-day deadline to call and cancel so we were charged $69.95. I guess this is another one of those "live and learn" moments!

I was hit with the same thing as well. I paid the 6.95 shipping fee and was charged 69.95. When I called and asked they told me all I could get back was 40.00. I told them I wanted all of it back. These people are impossible to deal with. DO NOT order from them. It defiantly IS a scam.

Sold a product to a hard of hearing senior citizen. As i was told they only have to say yes when they call your phone and it locks you in to a product. On a fixed income and get several of these call could be terrible. I have tried to get information and this company is terrible to reason with. All they want to say is you are responsible for the postage. There is no way we need this product and to me it is a scam against seniors. Just another thing we have to be careful in our golden years.

I got the free trial for my daughter who lives about 175 miles away from me. I too was charged $69.95 for "free trial" and then began receiving shipments every month, none of which was explanined to me when I ordered. Since we have been in the process of moving, I was not able to call about returning the 4 boxes I received that I did not want until today. I was told they would only take the last 2 back, even though they are unopened and completely resellable. Makes me wonder how long the stuff would actually last.

I'm definitely going to call the attorney general in California, and the one in Texas where I live. Surely something can be done to keep these con artists from continuing to operate.

Tri Clear is a complete SCAM! The product doesn't even help my acne. Usually acne products I use, I can see some results or it's evident that I am using the products on my skin. Well with Tri Clear my skin looks the exact same. When I use Tri Clear, my face doesn't feel exfoliated at all! I noticed how the product kept coming to my home back to back. I finally decided to check my billing statement and noticed a charge from Tri Clear in the amount of $76.90! I only signed up for the free trial, but they keep sending me packages! The website doesn't offer any contact information and on the package there isn't a return address! This company needs to be stopped. I am going to call trouble shooter with ABC News Channel 11.

I agreed to try triclear for free, $6.95 for postage and handling. I then received 2 more packages that I did not authorize at $69.95 each. The stuff does not work and I do not wish to continue receiving it. Like other people who have complained, I can not reach a person to cancel further shipments. This stuff is way too expensive and I only agreed to the free trial. Will try to contact again to cancel future shipments and send the unused product back with a credit to my checking account.

I received a trial supply of Triclear through a survey SCAM. After the trial period, I did NOT authorize further charges to me card, but still received 2 highly priced charges to my account. One was reimbursed after a $9.00 restocking fee, but the second (which was at an even higher price) was not reimbursed -- which was not even opened and simply marked "return to sender." I have talked with their customer service and was informed that I was talking to a supervisor and that the second package was not received for almost 3 months and no reimbursement was to be made. Please call them EVERYONE at [protected] and get your word to them. They are a SCAM company and their product is pure chemical and will CAUSE acne.

I ordered a free trial of the so called acnefree product all I had to pay was a one time s/h fee of $6.95 .I received a package in the mail which I believed was what I was suppose to get. When I was checking on my account I noticed a charge for 69.95 so I called the number which was no longer in service. I checked on the internet for the name listed on the acne product it was called tri-clear. This company had its own site so I called to get my money back they said that it was passed the trial period I didn't order a trial period kit I ordered the free trial. The company informed me that even if I sent back the product that I would now get charged a $50.00 restocking fee. I informed the customer rep. that this charge was unauthorized that what I ordered was through a different company and wanted to know how or information was obtained by them. No answer to that they said it was done on their site or through a survey site none of which I did. Our financial institution will be looking into the matter to refund my money but do not trust these two companies they are scamming unknowing consumers.

I was called regarding Tri Clear... said I would try it and the seller told me the first would be free... just a few dollars for postage... well, it came and I was allergic... should have ret'd it but they said it was FREE... then I got another package from Tri Clear and I refused it. I was charge for it on my credit card and it was over $70! A woman from the credit card called Tri Clear and they denied that they said they'd pay postage... surprised? Telemarketers should not be allowed in the US... but in THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES ONL Y(they might get shot there). I have also been targeted by other telemarketers and my credit card won't help. Why should they when they get interest from charges? Just another scam to get mone...anyway, buy the year 20012, telemarketers will be have no jobs.

I kept receiving little boxes from Tri Clear. I did not know why. Finally, after getting so aggravated about it I called the number I found on the internet only to find out that I had been enrolled in the Tri Clear club and they were charging me $70 per box. I can only get credit for one of them and they will also charge me a restocking fee. Apparently, while on line I clicked on something to receive a trial of it so I could get a dining gift card and inadvertently gave them my credit card info to which they were charging all these boxes. They never sent me any info in the mail or told me that they would be sending me this crap. They won't even let us send back all these boxes-only one and it is subject to a "restocking fee". After reading all these complaints I know why the guy I spoke to was not apologetic that I was charged more than $6.95 for "trying a sample"- which I never even opened that one either, but they refuse to take back more than one. May they rot in HELL!

Ok..I see so many complaints..i am an asian and i ordered the tri clear..i never returned them back because it worked for my skin. Now I am an Indian with brown skin. Earlier I tried Pro Active but it didnt really work for my skin. The only thing is if you keep using this product I would never receive acne. but if you stop using, then boom..there you have brand new acne.

Advice to all who have acne. COnsult your dermatologist and get genuine treatment. I have been using 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide as a gel that unplugs pore and clears spots AND tetracycline tablets that kills bacteria from inside.

Using since 2 months and I have highly impressive results. Best part is that the treatment cost didnt even touch $5. Its that cheap and effective. Of course the treatment was done in India. Cheap and Best place Now I regret why I spent $70+$70+$70 for tri clear though it did work..Very expensive.

I never had a problem with the product itself. I made a purchase in September of 2007 of 3 boxes. I was told by the rep at that time that I will only be charged 19.99 then and for future purchases. When I called back in April I was told that the price was 29.95 and that they could not honor the claim made. I expressed my disappointment and was transfered to a manager. The manager Brian attitude was horrible. All he kept saying to me was this is the price and there is nothing we can do. I told him that I am aware the rep explain to him what my problem was before he took my call. I sent in a complaint to the company and still to this day have not heard anything from them. I strongly believe in customer service and am strongly disappointed in the way the call was handle. I will send a second letter to them expressing my discontment. The price really was not the problem the customer service was.

I was just ripped off by this stupid triclear company. I ordered their stupid product because I thought hey a good deal 6.95, and today I noticied a pending charge on my debit card for $69.95. I had no idea this company was going to go and do this. this should be illegal. I haven't used the product yet, but after reading everyone else's post that the damn product doesn't even work. I will not use it. I will stick to using neutrogena. I am going to attempt to speak to someone with this company and get my money back, and if they don't cooperate, I will just go thru my bank and file a claim with the BBB and attorney general. This company should be put out of business, and if enough people complain then they will be because what they are doing is not ethical

How could they charge you for something you never gave them account/card info on? If it was COD, why'd you pay for a COD you didn't authorise? If it was sent unsolicited US law provides you don't have to pay for it, being you entered into no contract. If you were on vacation, how did you order this? On a dare while drunken spring break binging?! C'mon! I read about the complaints people have made about this product, your's is the only one written by a crybaby whiner with no credibility. Show your brain, not your stupidity, when you write a complaint. Prat.
