Traeger Grill Company review: I want others to know what a lousy company Traeger is.

April 7th, 2022 around noon at Garden Grove Costco, California

Working for Traeger Grills is akin to being employed as a laborer in China. They lure salespeople by claiming you work 10 days and have 10 days off. How wonderful! That's not actually true though because there is a travel day on either side of the 10 days. The first day is traveling to the Costco site (which is not usually very helpful or welcoming either) then setting up the Traeger booth and assembling 4 or 5 grills for display. The 12th day is playing tetrus with 350 pound boxes of unsold grills in an attempt to have as few pallets to ship back as possible which literallly can take hours! Quite possibly, a supervisor will do a facetime to make certain the boxes are loaded as that person wants or they all need to be re-loaded to his satisfaction! The day begins anywhere from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. until 6p.m. on weekends and 8pm all other days. You are on your feet all day long. You are not supposed to sit... at all. There is no lunch break or coffee break and the bathroom is only on an absolute need basis only! Some Costco stores are in areas that just have no interest in the sales of over-priced barbeque grills! The salesperson must reach goal in order to make any money. Sometimes those "goals" are rather lofty and impossible to reach. Each Costco store has a different set of goals.

The Garden Grove Costco Store in California is an especially unfriendly place to find yourself assigned to. The main manager, David pretended to not have been aware of any mis-treatment towards the Traeger salesman when I know the man was treated with great disrespect and humiliated in front of many shoppers by Audrey, the Costco gestapo enforcer. I am also aware several others reported the dress-down by Audrey to David. But David treated my complaint as if it was nothing and I'm certain he was the individual who caused Audrey to be so insulting to one of Costco's best selling vendors. Treating vendors with respect is part of Costco's mission statement!

I would never purchase a Traeger grill because the company is abusive with their sales people. In their training, they behave as if these grown adults just joined the Marines! Their female trainers are all on power trips. They don't look or dress professional (blue hair) yet have positions that give them great power which they definitly abuse!

Garden Grove Costco, California has been reduced by the addition of a newer Costco not far away. This store is very poorly run and most likely under performs due to the very poor managing by David and his side kick Audrey!
