The website offered a $1.00 VIN check on a car. I began entering my information, but was unable to finish. A short while later I received a $1.00 charge to my credit account. They never did anything for me, but I was ok at this point. But the next day I found a $4.95 and a $29.95 charge. I e-mailed twice requesting a cancellation and received no reply. I then called and spoke with someone who took my information and said that it was taken care of. Next month the bill came for $29.95 under a different name and this month trackthevin is back at $29.95. The whole thing that stinks about this is that they feel they can scam people for hundreds of dollars annually for a service that is not useful for the regular person.
Desired outcome: I would like to get this service cancelled and have them return my money
A heads-up they also changed their name but charge the exact same amount $29.95
I cancelled my account and they send they won't be taking any money out of my account and they just took 29.95. And you can't even find out about a vehicle with them anyway
what happened to me, is I cancelled my card TWICE. Turns out I saw in this thread, that the bank gives all recurring companies the new credit card to charge... So cancelling the card DOESNOT help. My new card # card keeps rejecting the charge each month, but I DO NOT want to cancel my card again. It a total SCAM, the $ 1 report was useless and then they have my credit card #.
My back stopped the 29.98 fee by fraud protection. I did cancel my debit card and am Getting new one , I know under fraud protection I should be good .
I cancelled it to and they just took money from my account and don't want to give it back
How to cancel the subscription for no further money reductions
They offered a 1 time vin report for $1 and I took the screenshot. Then I got charged $29.95 and then $4.95. I am going to the bank and getting my money back. All this happened on 08/22/23

I contacted their chat bot and was promised a refund, will see if it happens. I’ve escalated this with the AFP in Australia
I love how the same scammer doing this trackthevin garbage are now downvoting these comments to make it seem like were all lying about this bs. Just found out today, did a vin report for 1$ maybe a couple months ago when i got my car as a graduation gift from my parents, and since I have been charged over 6 times for $30 by 'TRACKTHEVIN'. Would recommend closing the card entirely.
I am also seeing 3 unauthorized charges on my card. I never signed up for anything except the FREE VIN number lookup. Now I am being charged over and over. I even locked my card for unauthorized charges and it still was able to take out money.

I applied for a VIN check and paid the $1 that was asked for. I now am getting a fortnightly charge of $45.11. I can't seem to find any contact details for this company.

The company ask for a dollar payment like everyone else normally do but it didn't say anything about no monthly charge if you don't cancel it I was trying to look up a Vin number around the end of June so it's been around a month when I paid the $1 now they're trying to get $29 monthly

I didn't accept any monthly payments so how do I stop this
I went to their chat and spoke with either a robot or real person not sure which to be honest. I was told I will get refund but we will see. This is 100% a scam, 1-2 people might tick wrong box but not everyone.
I'm also stuck in the same spot, however I can't find any of their information could you send that to me if you still have it? Because I too am spending 30 a month on something I'm not even using
