I also bought a magazine from Top Sales and couldn't get in touch with them for awhile. But I called a while back and got a return call. The new office manager explained that the office manager before her was not calling customers back or processing the orders so she was the reason no one was getting called or their magazines. She put my order in and gave me a date for when they would be delivered. I got my magazine yesterday. So I don't think they are a scam. I think they just had bad people working for them. I also found out their email address [protected]@aol.com.

I was told the same story by a man about raising money for college and to win a trip overseas, how convenient! I ordered I Love Cats magazine April 4th, 2014. Today is Aug 28th 2014, not one magazine has been delivered yet. I have called the number on the receipt several times, it goes to voice mail, and hangs up when I try to leave a message. I too, paid $60.00 for a $15.00 magazine.

Check the BBB website to see they have an F rating, and are NOT accredited. Complaint after complaint about the same issues. Boy was I stupid! Come to my door again, and watch how fast I dial 911. You people should be so ashamed of yourselves, how do you sleep at night? I'm guessing very well, in a home much nicer than mine. The no soliciting sign goes up today!

I had a run-in with these folks today. Here's how it went, blow by blow.
Against my better judgment, I purchased a magazine subscription on the understanding it was going to a children's hospital. After reading bad reports about them online and getting a text from my neighbor asking if I had told the two salespeople he was cool and would definitely give them money (I said no such thing), I walked down the street to get my money back.

I was told by the girl who sold me the subscription that it WAS AGAINST THE LAW to give me back my check. I explained that was not the case, she held her ground and I called the sheriff's department. They tried to leave before deputies arrived despite me telling them the dispatcher wanted them to stay put.

Long story short, the deputies got there as they were getting in their van, stopped them, asked what was going on and made them give me back my check. They also determined they had no permit to solicit in the neighborhood and one of the salespeople had "lost his ID." The deputies sent them packing.

Quick recap of the lies I was told:
1. The girl said she was doing it to raise money for college and win a trip overseas, but a Facebook check showed she's been doing Nation's Top Sales work since 2011.
2. She said she walked to the area, but they left in a van.
3. She said signing the receipt was a binding legal contract. In fact, it was not. She was holding my personal property against my wishes. (Don't try to this on someone with legal knowledge.) She even said giving back the check would BE A CRIME. Sheesh.
4. Told multiple neighbors I sent them to their door and that they were "cool."

I was just uncomfortable about the transaction at first, but after I was lied to, discovered they were violating the law by soliciting without a permit, AND they tried to disobey a law enforcement agency's orders to stay put until the situation was resolved, the next Nation's Top Sales employees who knock on my door are going to be sent forcefully packing.

This is not about Top Sales, its about Someday Sales Inc. If they are the same then I was not aware. I bought Magazine Subscription from a Gentlemen that told me his name was Jamison Ward. He was from a church and was improving his communication skills and in doing so could win a trip over seas. You could either buy a subscription for yourself or for St. Mary's Hospital. I bought one for the hospital. I didn't think about being scammed until I decided to look up the company online the day after my purchase. What I read was disturbing, there are over 150 complaints alone that have been submitted to the BBB in Asheville, NC. I cancelled my subscription and returned the form for my refund within the 3 days I was allowed and as of today I have not heard anything, about the magazines or the refund. I have also placed calls and sent letters. I ordered the subscription on October 16 and cancelled it on October 17, 2010. Meanwhile I am hoping and praying that Dave Fussell grows a conscience and realizes what he has done. He has ripped off so many people and we have to continue to fight to get people like this out of our "backyards". So much for trusting your fellow "man"! I will be in contact with the North Carolina Attorney General next business day and will comment again if I find out what can be done.

Here you guys go. Made this public. I hate that a company like this is operating in my own back yard and doing this to people. Based on reports online, Tracy Turner and Sean Nation have had their hands in alot when it comes to magazine sales. There are direct links to Top Sales and Sean Nation/Tracy Turner to both Veritas Communications and Souther Circulation as well. Based on my research, Tracy Turner (the manager for Top Sales) is actually Tracy Fussell, the owner of Veritas Communications and the wife of Dave Fussell, who has been running this racket under other companies all over the US.

I've made complaints with the Alabama AG as well and have forwarded my findings to them.

Top Sales is managed by Tracy Turner, who is legally Tracy Fessell... the wife of Dave Fessell. She manages Top Sales and is also the owner of Veritas Communication, which is another magazine sales company. Dave Fessell runs these businesses with Howard Brock who has recently plead guilty for charges brought against him by the Alabama Attorney General. Top Sales is owned by Juanita Brock, allegedly set up under Howard Brock's mother's name. Dave Fessell also owns a company in NC called Someday Sales, Inc which also does magazine sales. The allegations of fraud and abuse abound toward all these players in this scam.

You do not think it is a scam. Ok then ask the 1000's upon 1000's of people that never got their magazines. This company is a complete scam and I know as I used to work for them. Never buy a 50.00 magazine subscription from any door to door person as you can get a year subscription for like 10.00-15.00. None of these kids are in school and are ALL on drugs and most running from the LAW. The owner lives very well while paying all his employees less than 20.00 a day. Give me a break and why don't you do some research on traveling magazine crews and then get back to me.
