The Salvation Army USA - staff at the housing program

Hi we want to report our complaints about your transitional housing west wood village in Los Angeles CA, on 1401 s. Sepulveda Blvd. Since we've arrived in May 2019 we could see that the staff here don't care very much about the residents, they're very judge mental, something not is right with how people were leaving here, and they often mention the DCFS. Our case manager Teya Mccockron even said they evicting people for losing there voucher, we didn't see anything in the rules concerning this. In July of 2019 case managers Teya Mccockron and Rachael Everett violated my wife's hippa rights by talking to me about her medical condition without her consent.
In November 2019 Rachael Everett called the police and DCFS and came to our door and opened it with her key. And there weren't any grounds for Miss Everett to call those authorities. We love our children very much and has never abuse them. This has caused us great deal of stress, embarrassment and trauma for the kids, and also a violation our rights by opening our door without permission. She should not be a mandated reporter she is making decisions that are very harmful to families and the organization. The police told us that some one from the office at west wood office called them, we believe it was Miss Everett because she came to the door with them.
This is the uncaring judge mental attitude I was talking about. And in December they put a thirty day notice on our door and we have never violated the lease, broken any rules or received discipline points since we've been here. They never said that we were breaking the rules and in danger of eviction, you give people a chance to correct the problem.
They are trying to cover themselves by getting rid of us this is usually a sign of more serious misconduct. This staff here seems to be working unjustly with the DCFS, dcfs staff even have a key to enter the complex at will. This allows them to harass, and take children unjustly, like they have done to us. There is no need for them to have this kind of access they are not police or firefighters. There is no emergency that will arise where they are needed. A transitional home, especially the Salvation Army should be a place where people can relieve the stress, feel safe, and gain the strength they need to find housing and try life again. Salvation Army staff are like public servants they should not look down on the people or profiting off of their problems.

Please have a team investigate these issues for they are pressing and could affect some many more families that are in your housing programs. We appreciate your speedy response.

Respectfully Observant
Mr. & Mrs. Wright

PS. I did find the policy about losing the voucher, it is a short one line sentence that doesn't explain much. But it still needs to be dealt with. This a very unjust policy and unnecessary there is more the one way for a person to lose a voucher that's not their fault. This policy needs to be removed it is causing thousands of veterans and families to be homeless again in a very short time. Every voucher has a different amount of time on them. Also not looking for work and not enrolling kids in school can have you terminated from the program, these are grievous and unjust policies.
Along with the first three mentioned you have two case worker meetings a month, a monthly mandatory meeting, document job search, document housing search, must complete five hours of class time every week, and turn in life skills sheet every week. This is very stressful to keep up with while looking for housing, and could cause you to miss housing opportunities. It is very stressful to be concerned about losing your place while you are looking for a place to stay. Bible says in Isaiah 10: 1, 2

Woe unto them that write unjust laws and that write grievousness which they have prescribed.
To turn aside the needy from judgement and to take away the right from the poor of my people,
Please feel free to contact me for more details about each situation there's a little more info that will completely clear everything up.
Thank you

Hi the problem is still not resolved we are not satisfied, they have no intention of getting to bottom of what really happen or stopping these kinda of things from happening again. They still have not found out who tried to have our kids taken illegally by making a false report to the police and child protective services, nor who gave social workers access to the facility after hours so they can harass tenants, and why this was allowed. This a gated community you cannot enter without a key or code. They are not dealing with these things at all, they are ignoring them. The staff here seem to have no fear of consequences from anyone.
Since this situation they were told to work with me on a housing plan and there are making it difficult by stopping a meeting that we were having because my wife wasn't with me and trying to have my vehicle towed because they say its not in compliance. That could have wait till at least the housing plan was done. We were not able to complete the housing plan, We had to make it on our own and it is done now, the only thing we need is the funds for the plan.
Please show their headquarters how to handle this type of situation or send someone who can.
thank you much

Hi the problem is still not resolved, they have stop the eviction through Miss Sanchez from longbeach and we are thankful, but we are not satisfied. There has not been a thorough investigation into the breach of confidentiality, assisting the social workers with taking children unjustly, and harassing tenants and evicting tenants prematurely and illegally. They are avoiding these issues and do not want to deal with them.
Most of the tenants that came here after us are now gone. There is a housing crisis right now and homes and apartments are expensive and hard to find. And more than likely these tenants has not find a home. The facility should have a record of every who found a home while they were here.
They are upset with us because we reported them, and are looking for ways to retaliate against us. Please send some one here that is not afraid to deal with these issues and restore direction, order and cooperation. The staff named in the report seemed to be relentless and unconcerned by the current investigation.
Thank you for your help

And also we have been turning in our life skills sheets and attending case manager meetings ask them what days did we missed. We’ve been here since may of 2019 and only in November we began to reschedule meetings and the first one our case manager rescheduled because she was booked that day, which started us trying to meet on days that we were both not busy.
And when we mentioned that we were going to wait before we put our kids in school because it looks like we will be moving soon she said ok, she agreed, she never said that we couldn't do that.
We've been having trouble with our housing voucher since we came here, and we made this clear from the beginning in May, and we are still having problems right now. They knew this and seemed to be working with us but suddenly after they called the police and dcsf on us now they want to put us out. Keep in mind that never mentioned any problems before this. And we still have our voucher.

The director is not doing a thorough investigation she believes what ever her staff says.
Not asking the right question and not requiring them to prove what they are saying.
