I have contacted the dollar savings club and asked them to remove my name as a customer as I have cataracts and cannot read magazines, however they continue to send me a magazine I wouldn't buy even if I could see and they bill my account an extremely outrageous amount. They have not responded in any type of positive manner.

I just called them to cancel my account, and they did EVERYTHING to try to get money out of me. They refused to play any recording of my acceptance of terms, and were demanding the balance of the "contract". After going through 3 sales representatives and 1 "supervisor" I got out of it with minimal payments: $30. These jokers are a scam and a fraud.

The Dollar Savings Club (or DSC) is actually a company that does not handle magazine services, you are referring to either, most commonly, Discount Magazines (DM or DMN), Wholesale Magazines Club (WMC), or Readers Publication Syndicate (RPS) It doesn't really matter, they are all the same company and based in the same call center. The bill that you currently have was, probably, more or less an oversight on your end but there are also a couple of contributing factors that would have resulted in its creation. This kind of account required verbal and recorded permission for it to be created. If you do not recall creation of the account, it was likely offered with some other promotions or explained very briefly. You are not required to make any payment mainly because it was at no point a legally binding contract, which is why I would suggest you call them and back and express that you are going to close the account and dispute any further charges with your bank or pursue legal action. This is what is known as a threat, and at that point they have no choice but the close your account and cease collections. Hope this helps, and good luck.
