When a person signs up for personal training one expects to recieve a higher degree of service. This should include personal attention, personally designed workout regimes, and attention to detail. This is easily classified under the total customer service umbrella, I mean that is at the base of what personal training is, a higher level of customer service to meet their goals concerning fitness. My thought was that since the Alaska Club was noted as one of the "premier" workout facilities in the state they would be able to achieve these ends with ease. I WAS WRONG! The attention you will recieve at the Alaska Club is totally dependent on how much guff you are willing to take. If you expect to set reasonable goals and actually achieve them, than this company will NOT facilitate those goals. They will charge you for their sessions, and then walk you around the club during your workouts and thats where the customer service ends. They will ensure that you will not be pushed to higher level of fitness(the essence of personal training), instead they will have a stream of excuses as to why you did not meet your goals. Even more than that, as you are going through their program they will not do the math to see if it is even effective. Their staff expects you to fit their mold, instead of the other way around, and when you dont get any results they blame the customer. I have now gone up the chain to rectify this issue, and I just keep getting met with more and more resistance to the acknowledgement that their staff is too untrained to consider the level of detail associated with personal training. The excuses are centered around how they play no role in the success or failure of your training(even though you pay 500+ dollars to get some accountability for your workouts) I am tottally dissatisifed with their ineptatude, and their excuses. I would warn anyone thinking of utilizing their "services" to go elsewhere if they want to set their goals and achieve them. Alaska Club does not care about you the customer, and they will deny any responsibility for your workouts and their successes.

The worker said I was hitting the speed bag too hard. Really. They are too expensive anyway. So I cancelled my membership. https://www.thealaskaclub.com/?utm_source=fivefifty&utm_medium=search&utm_campaign=19

The Alaska Club hired a con as a manager at the east gym. Says a lot for the kind of people they hire. He'll bully you into signing up and take your money. They're the worst company and so disorganized. Couldn't answer my question about a company discount. They have their heads up their butts.

I have been a member at 3 different times. While becoming a member is easy, getting out is something else... Every time I was on a month to month membership, and when I cancelled my membership in writing, they kept making monthly withdraws from my bank account! It does not matter how many times I went back to "customer service" (really a joke to call it that), they kept telling me they were going to stop the automatic withdraws but...kept taking $$$ every month. What did I end up doing every single time to put a stop to this? I had to cancel the card I had given them at sign-up! Last time, it took me months before I noticed that they kept taking money from my account. Worse part : I could not find my receipt from my cancellation months ago...and of course, they could not either. What I am the most frustrated about, is that it took me 3 times to understand... That in itself makes me doubt my mental abilities...Now I know and I want to make sure this can keep someone else from making the same mistake. STAY AWAY!
