Tag Huer Roosevelt Field Mall review: Poor quality of repair. Unresolved issue on the rubber piece attached on the case and store manager poor customer service.

I owned a Tag Huer Formula 1 Chronotimer for 15 years and and every 2 3 years I am having the same issue with the watch. Theres a rubber piece that has Tag huer Marking attached on the left side of the case the glue inside will deteriorate and fall apart. It was only glued on the metal and it doesn’t last for long time. I brought the watch for repair 4x already. I paid like $200 on the 1st and 2nd repair and on the 3rd time The Female Store Manager at Tag huer Roosevelt Field Mall covered the repair due to poor it’s workmanship on the watch and She told me that if it happens again just the bring the watch back and will help me. Last July 2023 I had the same issue again and I brought the watch to Tag Huer Roosevelt Field but unfortunately the Female Store Manager doesn’t work there anymore. I told staff regarding issue with the watch and he said He will bring the watch to the service center and they will give me a call. After a few weeks I received a call from the Store Manager at Tag Huer Roosevelt Field telling me they checked the watch to repair the watch it will cost me $275 and I told him that It was covered by the Store Manager last time due to poor workmanship and I am not going to pay for having same issue with the watch. I brought the watch 3x and the issue wasn’t resolved, Its unfair for me to pay $300 every 2-3 years because of poor workmanship of the watch. I declined to do the repair. I called customer service to asked for assistance and I spoked to this guy named Wil and I told him my issue and he was able to generate the history of my watch in they’re system, saw that’s been repaired constantly with the same issue So, He advised me to go on with the repair. but I said I already declined and He said to call the store and tell to accomodate the repair. And he helped me, He did a 3 way call, He spoked to the Store Manager and told him to accomodate the repair and they talked regarding the issue and after they said that they will just call me.

September I received a call from Roosevelt Field telling me that the watch was done and is ready for pick up. I went to pick up my watch and I was dismayed when they hand me the bill of $410. I looked for the Manager and I told him that the last time He called me, He said that to fix my watch it will cost me $275 and I declined coz I believed it’s too much that theres a problem with workmanship of the watch I am having same issue every 2-3 yrs. and the previous manager already acknowledged of the poor workmanship of the watch. And She said that when it happens again just bring it back and She will help me. The Store Manager said the $275 is only for the service maintenance like to clean inside and calibrate and I said I didn’t bring my watch to have maintenance on it. I don’t have problem with the inside mechanism it’s perfect. the only problem is the rubber piece that fell apart due to the glue deteriorates easily. and cost me $ every 3 years. I owned 5 Tag Huer and this is the only watch that gives me trouble and consistently brought for repair. And he said If you don’t want to pay I will bring it back and will dismantle and put the old bezel with the problem. Wow! is this how the Store Manager handle issues? I said, Don’t do anything hold on the watch and. will come. back for it.

I called Customer service and spoked regarding the issue and they acknowledge about the accommodation that they did and also they gave me discount for the repair.

I told them that I was dismayed How come the cost for repair price went up? that the store manager gave me two different price. The Store manager doesn’t know what his talking about and doesn’t know how to resolve issues. I felt like Im am being scammed. The customer service said that its between me and the Store to talk about the pricing but they did give me discount. And when I asked if how much was the discount They dont want to tell me as if they trying to cover up the store for pricing and said just call the store. So where do I call for complain about the Price and the Store Manager who adjusting the repair price?

I believed that its poor workmanship on the watch because the rubber piece should last intact for many years not only 2-3 years and it will start to fall apart. They should use better glue that can last for long time, that can handle water because the watch is water resistant It shouldn’t deteriorate easily. Tag huer is a luxury watch, you’re paying for standard quality to enjoy the watch not to give you hassle and cost you $ every 2-3 years.

Back In 2016, I had the same issue with “rubber piece”and was able to repair But when I got my watch it doesn’t look the same. They changed the bezel of my watch with an old one it was “yellowish” and there was a dust inside the crystal. Like if you didn’t pay attention you’ll gonna end up wearing an old used watch. They tricked you Be careful. I wrote Tag huer though FB and I received an emall from Ms. Michelle Domenico was able to understand helped me resolved the issues on my watch. I hoped She could talked to the Tag Huer Roosevelt Mall Manager for giving two different amount for repair despite the customer service (maryanne)

mentioned they discounted the repair.
