Sunshine Siberians Micah Thompson review: Stolen spay deposit

I drove from Texas to New Mexico to purchase a Siberian kitten from Micah Thompson in November 2022. Micah posed as a good, Christian woman on the phone, which I now know was a manipulative ploy. Because she was disarmingly sweet, I did not research her cattery near as well as I should have and I did not ask for breeding papers to verify the kitten was a pure-bred Siberian, and now that she is supposedly 7 months old, I don’t believe she is. Micah assured me the kitten was well socialized with both dogs and children; however, when I arrived to pick up the kitten, she had all of the kittens in her bedroom and said they were never allowed out of the bedroom because she has so many pets in her house. The kitten was adorable, but she was very small. When we arrived home, the poor little thing cried all night and had diarrhea. I took her to the vet multiple times, and the vet did not believe she was a 13-week old kitten because she was underweight. She was also very skittish around my dog and my son—she was not well socialized at all! I then learned Micah had cashed my $500 spay deposit that the contract said she would send me a video of her ripping up the check after I provided proof of spay. She was very difficult to get a hold of through this process, and when I finally did, she said “oops that was the wrong contract” and kept the check. I have sent her multiple emails and text messages to refund my spay deposit and she has not returned any of my messages. On top of that, I’ve spent hundreds of dollars in vet bills and special foods for the poor, sick kitten she sold me. I mostly feel bad for the animals in her care, and I hope they make their way to good homes. But if you are considering purchasing a pet from this woman, BEWARE! I only hope someone reports her to local animal control to check on the welfare of the animals in her home, because looking back, there were red flags I missed because of her façade that she was a good person. Her teenage children are very sweet, and I feel bad for them because I think she uses them to further an image that she is a decent human, but she is not. I’m only grateful I was able to save the poor kitten I purchased from her. The kitten is still skittish, but she is bonded to me because I saved her out of a bad situation, and that is the only good that has come out of this transaction with Micah Thompson and Sunshine Siberians.
