Worst Service I have ever had was at Studio Belladonna. The girl who did hair extestions #1 Lied about how much it cost, did a terrible job, over charged me and all the hair started falling out within 3 days of application. I complained to the owner immediately, she then told me there was nothing she could do because all her people are independant contractors. She was suppose to call me back and never did. I would NEVER go there if I were you.

All I can say about this is that ... I was researching Studio Belladon because they do "DEVA" hair cuts ... now I think I'll stay far away. Lesson learned = Don't air dirty laundry online.

I don't understand. If this Jamie lady disliked it sooo much and Studio Belladonna didn't want to deal with her, why not just give her the damn $200 some odd dollars back?

If I was dealing with such a person as Jamie, I would've just gave up and said, "Here ###, now get the ### up out of here"

I am for sure that Studio Belladonna would not go broke over $200 something bucks. .

Its unfortunate that there are people as negative and bitter out there to crty about some hair extensions. There are dying babies out there cause they don't have a piece of bread, let alone clean water to drink.

This is ridiculous. I hope Studio Belladonna learns from such situations and Jamie Brace learns how to let go and realize that BEAUTY IS NOT CHEAP!

Although Jamie Brace has never directly (cell phone, email, or text) contacted me regarding any of her complaints or issues, I believe it is necessary for me to comment on the situation.

I am specifically not providing details of the services and conversations as this would be very redundant as Leanna Concepcion’s / Studio Belladonna No.1 in Roseville statements provided in the comments section of the Complaints Board are accurate and do not need repeating. However, I will make additional comments that are relevant to the situation. I am providing supportive facts, not conversational dialogue.

My initial introduction to Jamie was when she came into the studio/salon to inquire about hair extension services. At this time, we discussed the length, the type/kind of hair available, color, and if she had extensions before. I quoted her my rate of $100/hour plus the cost of hair and confirmed that I would purchase the hair to ensure being able to properly color match and charge her only what the hair cost the studio with no mark up.

It is correct that Jamie did not show for scheduled appointment and eventually another appointment was scheduled. She arrived approximately 20 minutes late. During the time of services, she seemed pleased, commented that she liked the length of the extensions and so forth. She had even mentioned to me about the prior stylist, the one she went to at his house instead of making her initial appointment with me, how unhappy she was, how he ruined her hair, how the extension hair was matted in her hair and balled up after washing it, she made a comment that it "melted" in her hair. I even provided a hair cut with the services at no additional charge. This is typically extra but I wanted to give Jamie exceptional service given what she had been through before. Little did I know that I too, along with Studio Belladonna No.1, would become another one of her experiences used as a platform to willfully and intentionally slander for personal gain (free services, after all, she only wants her money back) through discrediting the services of others.

As we neared the end of her services, the tone of her satisfaction began to change. Instead of being pleased and happy with the color, the length, the style, she began to pick everything apart. It was almost like she knew it was getting time to pay and she needed to make sure she wasn’t happy to set the scene for a possible discount. The actions and body language from Jamie were definitely different.

At the reception desk for check out, she was insistent that the services were terrible, the costs were not what she was quoted. It was at this time that I reminded her of our initial appointment in which she was quoted $100/hour plus the cost of hair. Her appointment lasted 2.5 hours, which would be a total labor charge of $250 plus the cost of hair (approx $80). I also pointed out that the brochure states the charge for hair extensions starts at $300. Furthermore, I did not charge her for the 20 minutes she was late which is time that I had set aside for her. In an effort to provide satisfactory customer service, I agreed to reduce my rate to $90/hour, which would be a savings to her of $25. This was just a courtesy on my part as I had performed the services as agreed, in a professional manner, she was pleased with everything until near check out time.

The stylist assisting with finalizing Jamie's charges, myself and Jamie spent nearly ten minutes trying to reach an agreement that was acceptable to Jamie which included several telephone calls to Leanna Concepcion regarding the situation. I was appalled when Jamie, did in fact, throw a business card at the stylist assisting us. It seemed as though it was part of the “show” to ensure that she presented her dissatisfaction strong enough to warrant a substantial discount.

If Jamie was really disturbed by my appearance, business cards and the manner in which I presented myself, why would she have retained me for services? Especially if I was more expensive than what she was quoted from someone else (her words in her comments).

In general, Jamie’s comments are contradictory by themselves. Not by what others are saying happened, rather, what she herself states and then makes different statements later. This is a result of her not having a legitimate complaint and just grasping for something for free. I agree, it is time for a formal complaint through the Placer County Small Claims Court so that these unsubstantiated accusations can end with the true purpose of Jamie’s intentions being exposed for what they are which after all the documentation and evidence is presented it will show that it is Jamie who should be compensating those she has wrongfully accused in an effort of personal gain.

Oh God! I can not get over all this DRAMA going on over this hair. Jamie needs to get over her self and just move on. She has way to much time on her hands to sit here doing all this DRAMA. If you did not like what you got done then and there ask for the manager to come out. If not there than get the name and email. I do think that the card was thrown for the fact that when im mad I would have done it and not remembered it. But to sum it all up Jamie let it go. All this negativity is not good for a person to deal with, its not good for anyone. Really the BBB you went too far with all that. Leeanna, I have always loved the services I have had done there and I will continue to go back. Its our word of mouth that gets sent to our friends, that will continue to bring you customers. There are plenty of haters out there that have too much time on thier hands and worry about creating drama and problems for others. I am sorry you have to deal with this and look forward to my appointment next week. XoXoXo

oops,
Ok i personally have always had positive experiences with Studio Belladonna no 1 and thier owners. I have been in many times for several of thier different services including, cut, color, highlights, nails, pedicures and tanning. I have recently had an appointment with Kate who gave me an amazing facial. I have brought our daughters in for all of thier services as well and Highly recommend Studio Belladonna No.1 . They have always conducted themselves in proffesional manors as well as been beyond courtious. I will continue to recommend this salon to everyone I meet. I am sorry to have heard about this ONE experience being negative and believe that Leeanna the co-owner would go out of her way to rectify any issues. If you have had a bad experience with a salon I am sorry to hear that. However, this seems to be beyond the normal complaints. I have had bad expereinces with my hair before and Never would I go this far. It is simple. You don't like the service you try to rectify the issue then you just don't go back. It seems to be that this client has taken this way too far and on way too long than necessary.
Again, I would absolutely Highly Recommend this salon to everyone. We have a friend that drives 45 minutes to have her hair cut by Rachel at Studio Belladonna. Its Worth The Drive!

Dear Jamie Brace:
Comments and responses are a constitutional right. Studio Belladonna No. 1 seeks the right to defend and honor its management and its staff accordingly. Each website and comment board Jamie Brace has posted upon allows a response in which we have utilized. Studio Belladonna No 1 stands by its statements and has grown tired in constantly defending false and inaccurate mis- information which has not lead anyone into a positive civil resolution.

We at Studio Belladonna No 1 have grown weary of having to constantly respond to a matter in which can no longer reach a civil resolution outside of court. Having comments inappropriately flagged or removed by an “unknown” person’s, is just another example of the civility of who we are trying to work with, Miss Jamie Brace. It is not conducive to a positive outcome and we hereby ask that Miss Jamie Brace file this in a court of law.

From this date forward, June 7, 2010, if you feel your complaint is valid and that you reserve the right to a fair hearing, please forward your request to the proper resources. In this case, this would be the County of Placer, Judicial Small Claims Department http://www.placer.ca.gov/ the website itself will give you the proper direction in how to file a proper court case. If you need any additional help filing, please Google it.

Having offered this opportunity for a fair trial, we will patiently await your complaint with an extensive response which not only includes additional charges of harassment and slander on your behalf but the request of all documents you have allegedly sent, emailed called and or text. All postings and comments made by Jamie Brace have been documented; print screened and will be included for the mediator and or judge to hear.

Any continuations of false allegations, slander or judgment of character will be added as Studio Belladonna No 1 harassment lawsuit against Jamie Brace.

Jamie Brace:
Once again, please do not contact Studio Belladonna or is staff, we are no longer interested in your unfortunate hair experience with our independent stylist and also recommend that you contact your stylist for any additional damages you may see applicable as opposed to the salon itself. We hope that in the future you have a better experience in your journey of stylist ad wish you the best of luck.

I would like to respond to Leeanna, however, I find it difficult to respond to outright lies made by the owner of Studio Belladonna. My only option I guess it to hit them in order.
There was never any confusion on my part as to what I was quoted by Aryhnn. I explained to her I had a quote from another stylist for $100 plus the cost of hair and could she match that price. She said “My usual fee is $100.00 per hour but I can do it for the same price”. I told her I would go purchase the hair at Sally’s beauty supply and Aryhnn said that she would like to purchase the hair as she could possibly get it cheaper at a store that will only sell to you if you have a cosmetology license. At that point I told her that was fine but I did not want to spend more than $200 total to get extensions put in. Leeanna was in the salon at the time but was not standing near us for the conversation. She then helped Aryhnn book my appointment as the studio just opened and they were using a new computer program for scheduling. Leeanna told me they would call me to confirm my appointment. I did not receive a call until after my scheduled appointment time. I did not show for several reasons only one of which being my impression of Aryhnn, the other was not receiving a call to confirm. All of this was explained to Leeanna just hours after the service was completed by Aryhnn. I explained it to her several times on the phone that day as she did seem very confused when I started using math.
At no time did I expect to get the complete service for extensions for $100. I explained to Leeanna over and over, that Aryhnn quoted me $100.00 PLUS the cost of hair. I thought that was very simple math.
The reason we spoke on the phone 4 times was that Leeanna’s cell service kept dropping our connection. The last time the call dropped I called her back and left a message for her to call me back. I did not hear from her again. She did ask me to write her an e-mail, however, our call dropped before I ever got an e-mail address to send it to. I still do not have her e-mail address. I was waiting for her to call me back. I waited 3 weeks before filing a complaint with the BBB. I felt that was plenty of time to resolve the situation.
As to her allegations of me throwing something at one of her employee’s, I am stunned. I don’t even know where to begin to respond to that. That is factually untrue and an outright lie. I would never do something that heinous and illegal. I chose to resolve my disputes in a legal format, like using the BBB, a respected institution who resolves complaints for consumers who are being treated unfairly.
It is obvious that Leeanna does not want to resolve this situation. This is a very simple situation of her employee lying to me, over charging me and doing sub-par work. I would like my money refunded to me AND now I would like an apology for her lying about my behavior. I take assaults against my character very serious.
You may also view pictures that verify my complaint at the following URL Studio Belladonna, Roseville — overcharging, bad service. I also have signed affidavits from two witnesses who witnessed the hair falling out after just 72 hours, which was conveniently not addressed by Leeanna anywhere in her lengthy response. Her response seemed more designed to attack my character rather than resolve the situation.

My name is Leeanna Concepcion and I assist running Studio Belladonna no 1 in Roseville, Ca. I am completely aware of a complaint from Jamie Brace and would like to offer additional facts in this complaint. On April 15th, I received a referral from a personal friend that Jamie Brace wanted to come in and get extensions. Extensions require a consultation so I set up an appointment and introduced her to Ahrynn McCann. I was present during the consultation, but not involved in the conversation. I overheard Jamie asking price and Ahrynn telling Jamie that she charges $100 an hour. On top of this fee, hair would an additional cost of approximately $80-$140. Jamie Brace booked an appointment for the April 19th at 11AM for a 4 hour time frame. Ahrynn bought the hair for her appointment with Jamie. Jamie Brace failed to show up for her scheduled appointment, did not call to cancel, nor did she return any calls from Ahrynn regarding her “no show.” I personally assisted Ahrynn in calling Jamie and asked that Jamie please call to reschedule as Ahrynn could not wait any longer for Jamie to show. Approximately a week later I received a disturbing call from the third party friend who originally referred Jamie Brace. She stated Jamie was upset that no one called to confirm her appointment and that she felt Ahrynn was committing fraud by handing Jamie a business card with her personal information rather than the salon’s business card. Even though Jamie wanted to work with Ahrynn she felt Ahrynn was unprofessional in how she dresses, conducts her business and was offended by her personal business card. She stated that regardless of how she felt about Ahrynn’s professionalism, Jamie would like to rebook and have her extensions put in by Ahrynn. Our third party friend also stated that Jamie had gone to another person, a man whom she found through Facebook or through Craigslist for a fraction of what Ahrynn quoted, and had gone to his place of residence to have her extensions put in 2 days prior to the date of the service Jaimie is complaining about. She claimed she was so unhappy with his quality of work that she would like to give Ahrynn an opportunity. I explained to both Jamie and the third party friends, who were allegedly together at the same place during this particular phone conversation that Ahrynn is an independent contractor and that I was familiar with her business cards, her work and her style and it was this “artistic character” was exactly why I hired Ahrynn. I assured them Ahrynn by no means has intended to falsify any information regarding her place of business or misrepresent Studio Belladonna. I called Jamie either from my cell phone or business phone, both records traceable, to reschedule her appointment. On April 29th, 2010 Jamie Brace came in and Ahrynn proceeded to do Jamie’s hair. At approximately 1 pm or earlier, I received a cell phone call from Rachael Green, a stylist who was helping Ahrynn check out Jamie in the system. She told me that Jamie was upset that the total came out to $300 and that Jamie was upset that the price was incorrect. I quickly explained to not panic, but that our software automatically showed the 300 dollars as a default until we go in and edit the amount to what the stylist charged. Our website and brochures all state extensions are $300 and up as well as a disclaimer “Consultation and Deposit required before booking”. I then received a frantic second call from Rachael that Jamie was clearly upset and stated she was over charged for a total of 260.00. Because Rachael was a stylist, not front desk or manager, she offered to call me again and let Jamie speak with me which Jamie declined. Rachael offered my business card and Jamie threw it at Rachael and stormed out. Rachael. I then received a text “Just so you know, I will not be coming back. On top of her trying to charge me 100 extra, this cut is hideous.” I quickly called Jamie from my cell phone and spoke to Jamie. Her first complaint was that she was over charged a $100. When I asked her the total of which she paid she told me, $260. I quickly calculated in my head that this was in actuality an extremely low amount for hair extension of this caliber. Breaking down the cost, this would be as follows: $89.00 for hair and supplies (receipt on file), $71.00 for labor, Total $260. Ahrynn’s fees are $ 100 per hour for extensions. Our records showed that Jamie was in the salon over 2 hours and received a hair cut as well at no charge. Again, the fees were not making sense to me and I needed a chance to verify it with Ahrynn before I agreed to any refunds, discounts or offers. I explained over $89 dollars went to her hair/supplies and the remainder $71would then have went to Arynn for labor. Ahrynn worked 2 hours plus a haircut for free. I was confused by Jamie at this point with her allegations. I asked Jamie to break down what Ahrynn had told her. Jamie was unable to clearly explain what amount she understood were to be for supplies and what cost was to be for labor. She mentioned several times that she was quoted $100 for the entire service. I explained this may have been a miscommunication as Ahrynns hrly rate is $100, but Jamie admitted that she understood the supplies cost $80 and then claimed Ahrynn agreed to $90 an hour. This then would have brought the total to $296, a $6 difference which Jamie said was not the issue. Jamie then told tell me her haircut was horrible and that she was unhappy. I offered her to come back and get it fixed by either Ahrynn or another stylists and she refused my offer. Jamie then went on to explain that she originally backed out of her April 19th appointment based on personal reasons and that she went a week prior to a man who did her extensions for a fraction of what we charged. She stated she wished she stuck with her gut feeling and not gone to Ahrynn and ALSO pulled another no show as she did on April 19th. I told Jamie that I was disappointed to hear that she was unhappy and that I could offer a number of things. One: A new haircut free of charge, Two: Gift Certificate for any other services we offer equivalent to the amount she spent, or 3, Speak with Ahrynn and discuss how Ahrynn herself could rectify the situation Still after all of my options and no resolution, I asked what it was that I could do to rectify this situation. I explained that because all stylists are independent, I would still do my best to resolve the issue but at this point I didn’t understand what it was that Jamie was asking for me to do. She wanted for me the owner to refund her the full amount and that I should take responsibility for my and that it will ultimately affect my business should I chose not to refund her money. At this point in our 3-4th conversation this day, I found myself confused with her conflicting complaints and math. I felt the only way to assist Jamie was to sit down with Ahrynn and the Owner to discuss what has happened and how we could all resolve it together. As I needed to present this to both the stylist and to the owner, I asked her to write me an email of her events, a breakdown of what she was quoted, what she was charged and what I can do as the co-owner to resolve the issue. I explained I was concerned that the complaints were not coinciding to what I had understood them to be and if she could please send me a documented email to go over the issue and complaints with the Stylist and the actual owner Joseph Concecpion. I explained I would like to take care of Jamie’s needs but any refunds need to be authorized by the owner and addressed with the stylist. As a business co-owner I felt Jamie Brace’s situation was unique and not an issue with Studio Belladonna No 1 or its owners and stylists. I felt that Jamie Brace was generally unhappy with all services and clearly wanted a refund for personal reasons. After the long conversations with Jamie Brace I felt that she would be a client that would seek damages and complain through other avenues as opposed to resolving the issue with the salon or its stylist. Because of this I was advised to await her email, save all documents and not contact her unless I received an email from Jamie as asked. Early May 2010 I was advised that we had a negative review on Yelp.com from Jamie B:“Worst Service I have ever had was at Studio Belladonna. The girl who did hair extestions #1 Lied about how much it cost, did a terrible job, over charged me and all the hair started falling out within 3 days of application. I complained to the owner immediately, she then told me there was nothing she could do because all her people are independant contractors. She was suppose to call me back and never did. I would NEVER go there if I were you.”
We noticed all positive reviews a total of 4, comments including the owner’s response had been deleted from Yelp account and only the negative Jamie B remains to this date. On contacting Yelp.com, we had been advised that this account in reference had been created by Jamie B and now monitored and managed. Having said this, our concern is now for fraud, harassment and slander on behalf of Jamie Brace. I had created an official Studio Belladonna No 1 Yelp page that is correctly being managed by me.
May 26, 2010 we received notice of complaint by the BBB. In response to Jamie Braces statement, I would like it to be shown as Jamie Brace has falsely accused and negligently filed a gross complaint against Studio Belladonna and its Stylist Ahrynn McCann. In response to phone calls, opportunities for refunds or services not being offered are inaccurate and misleading. In addition to a “New’ complaint of hair falling out and pictures being sent, this is fraudulent. I never at any point received any picture or complaint by Jamie that her hair was falling out. I stand by my statement written above and ask that any formal complaints be heard in a court of law with a mandatory mediation prior to. Also, all records, phone, text, receipts and pictures claiming to have been sent shall all be verified in a court of law. Our cell phone records, emails, texts, receipts and so on will be submitted as well. If Jamie Brace does choose to file a small claims lawsuit, it is suggested that Jamie Brace not only provide all records on her behalf justifying her false statements but prepare her defense in slander and fraud. In closing, Jamie Brace has clearly shown the inability to take the appropriate steps asked of her in order to resolve the complaint civilly. Our records show phone calls made to Jamie in attempt for a resolution. It is now beyond my control to assist in a resolution and ask that Jamie Brace acknowledge her actions and know that Studio Belladonna no 1 has exhausted all resources in trying to resolve this matter. We also ask that Jamie Brace not come into Studio Belladonna No 1 and it is clearly stated that she is not welcomed in our salon.
In warm regards,
Leeanna Concepcion
