My brother and I have a credit card from Virgin (MBNA) Having become unemployed I thought I would call help line for a claim pack. This came and I filled it in (very intrusive I might add) sent this off about two weeks later got the reply we are unable to help you at this time. It turns out that my brother is covered but only for death or hospital admin. So this turns out to be a joint policy but only in one name. Now this cover is quite expensive at 79 pence per 100 pounds I would have thought that some cover would be on all the cards.

I have credit card repayment protection insurance with St. Andrews, sold to me by MBNA, and found them terrible to deal with. They finally settled after FIVE months.

I have a payment protection policy with St. Andrews, sold to me by MBNA.

They are a terrible company to deal with, and finally paid up after FIVE months.

Every possible trick was tried by them to get out of paying.

They also nrefuse to disclose what commission they pay to MBNA, who were not supportive at all, after selling me the insurance.

MBNA sold me card protection with St Andrews, nearly 2 years later they have not paid up and the ombudsman is in the process of sorting it out. They prolong and obstruct any information I send and then request the same proof of illness/unemployment several times. They send letters requesting to fill in the enclosed form that is rarely enclosed. I have at least 6 different letters as to why at this time they cannot pay me when I have already proved them wrong. They are scheming and seem to be trained in delaying tactics. It has been so stressful trying to deal with St Andrews Insurance at a time that they are just waiting for you to give up. Then you are left with making the repayments to your card that you thought would be protected. By all accounts I now know that St Andrews has the most complaints in card protection of any company. BEWARE OF ST ANDREWS CARD PROTECTION, THEY DO NOT WANT TO PAY OUT THEY JUST WANT YOUR PAYMENTS.

Agree totally 2 years after flooding still St Andrews not paid out, so passed to Ombudsman to deal with £70, 000 claim.Do not touch them, read small print always and get a better cover with a reliable company, they are part of Lloyds Banking Group.
