Sonny's Used Cars review: Bad Business 10

Im very happy i read your comments because today by KREDIT KARS owned by Sonny. Older guy came out talking to me about an SUV i was intrested in. Now that ive read your Stories i think it might have been Sonny but the so called older man swore Sonny was in Columbia but he would handle all the paper work with no problem. Then his so called mechanic tried to shoot me a side deal with another car. Im so happy i left that place

They are full of it. I brought a 2002 cadillac deville from him and it's been jacked up ever since. Need vaule cover gasket need a lot of stuff. He gave me the run around for three months for a tag. Like Really. He also gave me two paper tags which I had to find out from getting the dmv involved that that's against the law. He just didn't realize who he had messed with. So everyone is going to know about him.

I brought a car from sonny in lyman in Oct 2015. When I got the car I noticed the heat was not working, called and was told to bring it up there. Got there and no one could check it. My brother who has his own shop said it is constantly leaking antifreeze. Called them and they gave me the run around, also I complained that the car was leaking into the whole car when it rained and you can smell mildew and a musky smell. No one would fix it, but when it came to making a payment they had no trouble talking with you. These people have bad attitudes, they act like they are there for, but not, they are scammers. Dont deal with them you will loose alot of money.

I bought a Chevy Cobalt from their Morganton in 2009... Had problems with it from the day I took it home. Constantly in and out of the shop. They offered to switch me into another vehicle but had nothing comparable on the lot, sent me to Hickory, same thing. After speaking to the lady in the finance office "Sun Ray Financial" she told me that I deserved a better car and that I had been their best customer EVER. My payments were consistently 3 months, sometimes 6 months ahead. I paid $1000.00 down and $5880.00 over the year and was 2 payments ahead when she told me if I wanted to bring it back to the dealership, that I could walk away from it with no problems. I asked if it would negatively effect my credit or be filed as a repo and she said no, that they didn't report to the credit agencies and i had nothing to worry about and said she felt bad for me and just wanted me to be happy. I found a GREAT car from another dealer that week and returned the car the same week. Sonny's of Morganton went out of business and was and the lot was emptied 3 weeks after returned my LEMON... 2 years later I am now getting calls and collection letters from a company in California saying I still have the car and never paid for it. It is showing up on one of my 3 credit reports and they are very threatening and continue to call my work number trying to collect $12, 000.00 on a car that I originally bought for $9, 000.00 and paid $6880.00 on before being asked to return it. Sonny has been run out of every town he has been in. He is a CROOK and will not take your calls. I have called his Shelby location and been put on hold and hung up on every-time I call. I hope God deals with him before someone like me runs into him in person... KARMA will get him if one of the hundreds he has screwed over doesn't get him 1st.

I purshased a jeep renegade from them with 5000 down and b4 I even got it home the transmission came out they gave me a loaner car and I was told it would b fixed by the jeep dealer. After 2wks I kept getting the run around I called the jeep dealership and they informed me that the transmission was out and all fluids were cunky but that sonnys told them not to fix it. Sonnys then picked up vehicle on the 29th of july and I was told they were fixin it I then got my jeep towed to me and it wouldn't start the battery was no good which they paid to get me another one it still had same problem and was told that the guy who towed it that it still had the same prob when I asked for my money back I was told I w as s.o.l. I could bring the jeep back but would not get my money back my daughter in law bought one the day b4 me and guess what she's going threw the same thing her transmission came out they said they fixed it and its not go figure I had 6 other ppl who were going to buy cars out there but now wont do to this

I purchased a car from the lot in Shelby, drove it 3 days and the transmission went out. The so called "Manager" up there yelled at me on the phone and talked to me like I was a dog. I would not recommend anyone to by a car from them. They will rip you off and talk to you like you are dirt. Needless to say, I am contacting the Better Business Bureau and he may just find himself without a job when I am dont. Hope those people can sleep with ease at night knowing how they are doing innocent people, and some of those people may have children who are getting stranded in these cars.

buchanan4206, I can't beleive they have not put you in a loaner car!?! Or have they? If they have not, then I totally agree with you!

I bought one a month and half and it has been in shop since day I bought it. And still this day I do not have the truck it is still in the shop wiith bad head on the motor. And they want me to still pay with I have not even had the truck in my driveway for more than 24 hours. They charged 1000.00 down and 430.00 a month and for something I dont even have

I have bought 4 vehicles with Sonny's and everyone in my family is very happy with thier choices. If something was needed to be fixed on one of them they have always worked with me. I don't know of any other used car dealership, on certain situations, that would put you into a loaner car when they are working on yours. Others in my family have bought brand new vehicles from retail stores and didn't receive a loaner when thiers had to be fixed. As far as customer service is concerned, they have always been up front with me whether it was good news or not so good news. Bottom line, Sonny's is a company that helps people with poor credit ratings. Where can you go to buy a car if you have bankruptcy, poor credit, delinquent accounts?
