I was approached by a guy named timmy richards in omaha and he tried to sell me a care package for the troops. I probably would of fell for it but then I remember he was the same kid who sold me magazines at asu some months back. Which I never got. I tried for a refund but they said it wasnt possible and it was my loss. If anyone from prize point publications or smart raiser tries to sell you a care package to help the troops or a magazine than say no! Its a scam. Dont get fooled. Report to your local authorities

By the way, once I realized the level of dishonesty, my next thing to do was change my account number with the bank. That was complete within 24 hours but mopping up the straggling pieces took over two weeks. The reason for the change was that the dirt bag had both my account number and routing codes to an active account-a gold mine for an identity thief.

I was approached in a mall, and a really sweet kid gave me his pitch and I fell for it. Never got my subscriptions, they were supposed to be a gift for my husband.. So I called the customer service number, disconnected. Went to the wesbsite, suspended. It looks like I just got screwed out of my $$$. And not to mention, the math was wrong on my handwritten receipt! He got an extra 10 bucks outta me! What a ### company and the salesguy was sleezy too for ripping me off... BS if he didn't know what was going on.. Shame on me.. Too bad they ruined any chance for legit charities out there to really help people!

Fellow approached me with the "trauma center" line. Handed him a $5.00 check and he said it was too small to process a reciept. He also claimed he was entering the Army in a few days which I now seriously doubt since he had visible "tats" above the coller line that were probably applied in some prison.

Wow, there seems t be a lot of issues with people that have posted, so let me clear some things up. My name is andrew mcculloch, I used to work for smartraiser for 7 mo. So I know the ins-n-outs of the company. First I would like to start off by saying that when we start out we are told what to say, that being "hi my name is... We are doing a project for the troops to send carepackages to our soldiers on the front lines and transitional recovery backpacks to our injured soldiers in our trama units" we describe what are in both of them and explain why it is important to help by contributing. Secondly, I would like to say that we are subcontractors, that meaning we are paid a commission, just like anyone else that goes door - to - door. We are not school kids, we are not in college, and we no longer send directly to individuals with an apo address. Now with that being said, I would like to say that if there is any discrepancys at the door, such as being a non-profit, your neighbor, or anything in which makes you feel uneasy, or unsure you are being told the truth to, you should contact the coordinators, or email the company immediately, and describe who was at your door and what was said, this is the only way to eliminate the "bad apples", and allow for thoes at falt to be delt with accordingly.
Now, as for sending out the packages, absolutly we do, ive sent my brother 1 on his last tour and he personaly confirmed that he had recived it (back when we did send to individuals upon request)
I hope this clears up the issues brought to par, with thoes of you that are skeptical, if you have any further questions you can contact smartraiser directly via the web sight, and im sure that they will have no problem contacting you at your eairliest convienince,
Thanks,
Andrew mcculloch

We had a kid come to our door today saying he was from Smartraiser and it was a non-profit organization that helped our troops and that any donation would be tax deductible. I did some research and found out that this is an out and out lie. He also said he was being deployed tomorrow and that today was the last day to donate. Also a lie. He further went on to say that I would be buying a care package specifically for him and his brother. Also a lie. These guys are crooks, using the good name of our serviceman for their profit. They should be tracked down and thrown in jail!

I worked with smartraiser for a few days while they were in Oregan and am ashamed I did. Upon arrival to the motel that served as their home and office I immediately knew it was a scam and began trying to figure out how to safely get home...several states away. The owners Spencer Rowell and his wife Tara will mind f*** any kid that comes to work for them. If its not a $500 fine for some crap you will be in debt one way or another. I can tell you that after all is said and done at the end of the month only 6 grand is sent to the troops. These kids go door to door 6 days a week and between them pull 2 to 5 grand a day. You do the math. When these kids try to leave they are denied any help wheather its a ride to the airport or bus terminal or what have you. They say the kids get free room and board...LIES. They pay roughly 30-40 a day for the room and gas for the vehicals they are carted around in. They work 12 hrs a day while the owners and a select few stay home, go shopping, feast, smoke weed, get tattoos, ect. All with your donations. Sad beyond sad doesn't even begin to describe the situation. Kids get in fights all the time, Spencer is even known to rough them up and kick them out on their ### w/o warning. They come knocking on your door high as kites and drink every night with your cash that is supposed to go to wounded soldiers. Just be warned. To those of you I conned out of money...my most sincere apology.

Smartraiser IS a total rip-off run by garbage who'll use sacrifices of our troops to stuff their pockets. Low as you can go. One of your "reps" came to my house. He said my neighbor had just donated (lie), that she'd suggested me to ask (lie). I asked if this was tax deductable, he said yes (lie, as stated on your website, you're for profit- which is an understatement).

The next 2 lies are the best: he just moved in down the street & he & his mom were doing this for no money & EVERY cent donated goes for care packages to send troops (do I have to say total BS ?)

His name (allegedly) is Sasha Hedberg & since he's listed on your site, he must be 1 of your high ranking thieves. I say this because I know you're hiring all over the country, & you must hire alot of unwitting victims/as well as knowledgable ### to do your big sweeps across the country.

There was a TV expose on our local news after so many of us complained. Hoping the fact you're using the troops for your thievery gets people fired up to shut you down & lock you up.

Smartraiser is a for-profit company, who won't disclose how much of your donation is going to the troops.

Profiteering in this way is wrong.

Shame on Smartraiser! You're an embarrassment to the United States.

okay timmy richards used to work for a magazine crew which was a bad company, he didnt know you wouldnt get your magazine. he now works for smartraiser which if you did a little bit of research and go on the website which I'm sure he told you to do you'd know it was a legit company, what you people fail to understand is with the magazine thing, us kids did it as a chance to travel the country and make some money we didnt personally process orders and such we just turned them in, after the agent takes your order and turns it in, its not him that scammed you. they count the receipts so no one can steal orders, you're fined if you're missing a receipt. theres good and bad companies out there just like everything else. smartraiser is different, its a fundraiser for the military and I also work for smartraiser, its easy for you to go on a website and run your mouth just because you think you know what you're talking about. did you ever think it was possible the kid did more than one job in his lifetime? we don't think it's anything cool when you people complain about things you have no idea what you're talking about especially when my brother is in the military and I'm doing this for him. so before you make assumptions, try calling customer service or making some kind of effort to talk to timmy himself and ask him what happened with the magazine when he approached you.
