On 24th april, 2016, I book a honda vezel from sg vehicles continental pte. Ltd at “the cars at expo” event. The car that I had booked was, honda vezel 1.5g (Brand new) pearl white color priced sgd. 84, 988.00 (Inclusive of wine colored leather upholstery, dvd, reverse cameras, revert sensor, gps, blue tooth, v kook, recording camera, etc)
Certificate of entitlement by sg vehicles given was sgd. 35, 000.

The salesman was mr. Shan (Who also claimed, he was a chartered accountant of the company). I made a payment thru credit card for a sum total of sgd. 20, 000.

Once that was done, the company did not contact me at all. I called the company after a few weeks and mr. Shan informed me that the coe is up now and that we have to bid for a higher price.

After that, they never contacted me at all. I kept messaging them, but his replies would be very sparse and few and with never any concrete information.

In july, after chasing him for at least 100-150 times (Messages and calls) , he said we should bid for 50k for the coe. I said ok. At 4pm he sends me a text saying that we should bid slightly higher. I replied imm ok. He reverts later that he could not bid on time. So we lost that month of coe too.
He rarely ever answered my calls and never promptly replied to my messages. I also went to their office to seek a complete refund, but the office seemed empty. He was there, as per my appointment and he said he will discuss with his management and revert. Came back with nothing.

Then in august I kept reminding him to bid again, he bid in sept first week and the bidding was successful at sgd 51, 506. This was conveyed to me only thru a message. He messaged me a week later asking me if I would like to bid for an exclusive number plate. I said, I was not interested as he wanted me to spend $1000 min for a bid. I declined the offer. On asking when I would get the car, he said I would get it end of sept.

A week later I sent a reminder on the delivery date, he replied shipment is delayed and I would get the car only in oct or november. I told him that is not right. He said as they don’t have white color in stocks. I asked him what color he has in stocks. He did not reply. Later he suggested I go for another model, which I was not interested.

On repeatedly pushing him for my car, I found out from him later that the car “ might” be available for delivery only end of november. I was terribly upset. I book a car in april and I don’t get delivery for the car before december. It’s a very common car – nothing exclusive. A honda vezel which one can see 1000’s plying on the streets of singapore. I also see advertisements everyday in the paper and magazines, advertising the same car for sgd 99, 000 inclusive of coe and within 7 days delivery.

I have asked them for a full refund several times and they say, if I ask for a refund, I shall forfeit my 20, 000 sgd deposit. This is the weirdest statement ever. I refuse to buy a car from them now, as this company is a fraudulent company. When I showed his such advertisements, he says “don’t send me such nonsense”.

I asked mr. Shan for a contact name and number of his manager or superior, but he never gave me one and never even replied to me on that..

In their brochure, they claim as follows:

Sg guarantees best value – the worse value ever. They don’t reply to clients, once you pay a deposit. No written communication or calls. The company is a big sham.

100% commitment to delivery & quality – 6 mths since I bought the car and no sign of any delivery. They have no sense of commitment, whatsoever.

Building outstanding customer relations – every-time I would raise my voice to argue about my case, the salesman shan would talk even a louder tone and ask me to do whatever hell I like and he doesn’t give a dam. So much for customer relations. In spite of totally being wrong, never once did he apologize or was humble. Behaved like it was the norm and its all my fault.

Establish and build long stand relationship – they cant establish a legitimate car deal. What relationship are they talking about?

Corporate culture and process – nothing in writing. What culture? No manager of his or senior personnel has bothered to contact me ever.

High customer retention with 70%. Repeat and referral business – I seriously doubt it.

Motivated and enthusiastic staff team at your service – this is truly a joke.

Sound knowledge and understanding of industry - I am speechless!

Provide total solution to delight customers – I am definitely not delighted, on the contrary disturbed and stressed by the terrible attitude and even worse service

Strong management support – I have yet to even hear from anybody in their management.

Specialist in continental and japanese cars – I am looking up the word “specialist”

Once our customers. Forever our customers – I am never ever gonna buy anything ever from them or recommend anyone to them ever.

Everything advertised in their brochure is nothing but a farce.

I have been in sales and marketing since the last 21 years, I have never had a worse experience than this. I have been so stressed out with this incident. Neither do they give me my money back nor my car. I was buying this car for my wife and needed the car by end of may latest, as her coe was expiring then. I was supposed to do a trade-off and buy this, but due to their delay, I could not wait and I had to dispose of my wife’s car.

Since the last 5 months my wife has been shuttling in taxis to fetch my kids to and fro from school and classed and to the doctors, when they have been sick.
This whole incident has not only left a bad taste in my mouth but am shocked that in a safe place like singapore, which prides itself for its honest and keen business sense and quality customer service, such actions by a company is not dealt with harshly.

When I googled I saw that his company has 30 cases in 2015 against them for non-delivery and false promises.

The unfair practices complained by consumers include misleading claims being made by employees or agents of sg vehicles (Section 4 (A) of the consumer protection (Fair trading) act, chapter 52a (“cpfta”) ) , false claims (Section 4 (B) of the cpfta) , goods do not conform to the contract (Part iii of the cpfta) and defective goods (Part iii of the cpfta).
Consumers feedback to case that there have been delayed delivery of their vehicles ordered, unsuccessful bidding of certificate of entitlement by sg vehicles and consumers report that were not clearly informed of their obligations under the contract. In several cases, consumers report that they are made to do a top-up of their amounts paid due to a change in circumstances beyond the control of the consumer.

I am sure they have more lined up in 2016 also, as they don’t seem to be affected at all by complains received last year.

I plead with the concerned authorities to take serious actions against such companies and to please refund all affected clients, like me, a full refund and also penalize the company for troubling us and putting us through so much inconvenience due to their inconsiderate and dishonest actions.

SG Vehicles Continental Pte. Ltd or SG Vehicles Global Pte Ltd is a fraudulent company based in Singapore with their office at Blk 161 Bukit Merah Central #01-3705 Singapore 150161 (Next to Library) Main Road. I am posting this message to shed some light into their inappropriate business practices, of how the company is nothing but a fraudulent.
• They advertise themselves with their flashy brochure offering great deals. Most of the customers goes to them in good faith to make a genuine purchase of car. Once a customer books a car and pay the booking advance, the agent/company goes into a complete hibernating state. It simply does not contact the customers at all, which they promise shall get to them back as quick as possible.

• After weeks of waiting, the customers have to themselves enquire about the status of their booking. In most of the cases they are told, that the COE is up now and they have to bid for higher prices and there is no concrete information of the activities of the company to the customer.

• Most of their salesman are also the people working in various capacities like Chartered Accountants and Client Business Relationship Manager etc in the company. There is no proper designation or corporate structure to their business. If there is an issue arising out of a situation, there is no senior management to attend to the problem.

• They never give the customer, contact name and number of their manager or superiors as the company works without of proper corporate structure.

• They would rarely ever answer the calls or replied to customer messages leaving an impression they are busy with more important work at their end. If a disturbed customer asks for a refund most common answer one receives, is that, “if he asks for a refund he has to forfeit the advance deposit”.

• Such are the unfair practices, that, when COE is successful, which generally happens after failed attempts and months delays, they will pressurize the customer to take a variant model or colour stating that the one he has booked is out of stock or shipment will be delayed.

• Even the most common cars advertised in their flashy brochures for great deals have to have issues of un-availability of colours and shipment delays as it is their ways to put pressure on the customers waiting for months to opt for some other models, they wish to push.

Their flashy brochure claims as follows:

SG Guarantees best value – They don’t reply to clients, once you pay a deposit. No written communication or calls.

100% Commitment to Delivery & Quality – It will be months before there will be any signs of any delivery and customers do not have the right to ask for.

Building Outstanding Customer Relations – No written communication or calls, how do their build any relationship with their customer.

Establish and build Long Stand Relationship – They can’t establish a legitimate car deal. What relationship are they talking about?

Corporate Culture and Process – Nothing in writing. What culture? No manager or senior personnel will ever bothered to contact you if an issue arises.

High Customer Retention with 70%. Repeat and Referral Business – Matter of doubt.

Motivated and Enthusiastic Staff Team at your Service – This is truly a joke.

Provide Total Solution to Delight Customers – 30 registered cases (2015) in CASE and surely flying high in 2016.

Strong Management Support – There is no management to get back to you.

Specialist in Continental and Japanese Cars – Look up for the word “Specialist”

Everything advertised in their brochure is nothing but a farce.

There is consumer alert about the company in the website of CASE reproduced below:
https://www.case.org.sg/consumeralert_company_detail.aspx?caid=13

I am sure they have more lined up in 2016 also, as they don’t seem to be affected at all by complains received last year.

It’s a matter of shock that, in a safe country like Singapore, which prides itself for its honest and transparent business practices and Quality Customer Service, such dishonest company is still thriving and doing business despite many cases being registered against them consecutively for last many years now.
I am posting the above information, just to make sure other customer know about the company and be aware of their dishonest actions. I plead with the concerned authorities to take serious actions against such companies and to please refund all affected clients, and also penalize the company.
