On December 2, 2021 I was viewing recipes on the internet when my computer became locked telling me that I had been attached and to not shutdown my computer. I was provided a number to call [protected]) for help to fix my computer. I am ashamed to say that I was flustered and called the number. The individual on the call said that they could help for a one-time fixation fee of $250.00. My computer was "fixed" and I was instructed to send a money order to the following:

Selectkart LLC

2020 Buford Hwy

PO Box 567

Buford, GA 30515

All was well, at least that is what I thought. On March 13th, I was contacted and informed that the software installed on my laptop had an auto renewal fee and I was going to be charged an excess of $4,800. I called to complain and stated that I had not be privy to the renewal fee. I informed the individual that I was not interested in having the software and to cancel the subscription. At this point , I was informed that I there was a fee of $948 (reduced rate since I am a senior citizen) due to cancel the subscription. I was informed that I should send a check to the following:

Instinct Tools

PO Box 4562

Fairfax, VA 22038

Thank you

Desired outcome: I would like to have nothing else to do with either of these establishments.

I was scammed by Bytescart. I took as many files as I could take off. I still am taking BBB info files off. I ended up paying about $509.00 to unfreeze my computers. I did not call the number on my computer. Instead I googled McAffee who is my security for my computer. The number was BytesKart. I did not know. It came up as McAfee on Google. They are getting sneakier. I let them on my computers because I believed them to McAfee as they represented. I was tracking my delayed TV at the time through AM Trucking when the Chinese pop-up froze my computers. It took a couple of days to realize that I was scammed. I called McAfee. They helped me to call my bank to revert funds. They also extended my real subscription to McAfee Live Safe.

I don't know if I have been scammed or not. Freeze on computer, took people over an hour to convince me that if I turned my computer off it would not turn back on. 3 hours and $299.00 later I have to mail a check to 400 Pryor St. SW #4025 Atlanta Georgia. Same company? Sounds like it. I told them no security protection and got quite hostile with them. They dropped the annual thing. Hard to understand everyone, must be from the mid east by their accents.

i also found the same message on Sunday 3/21/22. I called the number (as I had no choice). and was told the cost

would be $299.99 to restore my computer to its original state which I agreed to pay. After the job was done, i was

told I would have to purchase a lifetime security protection to the tune of $3,500 and change. I told them I was 82 years old and i didn't need lifetime insurance. He took my bank information and the next morning, there it was, a bill tin the amount of $3,500. Lucky for me the wanted to know if I wanted to pay the bill by the 25 of March or cancel the bill. I canceled it. I then try to find a tel# for Selectkart lic. so i could find out what 's going on. No luck.
