Scott Favro review: Unhappy with results

I hired Scott Favro to build a dock in Saranac Lake. He was suggested to me by a family friend. He was very proud of his work and talents and was eager to build this on the main road where I live, which would be good visibility for his work. Before installing the dock one of the first questions that I asked was how it would handle the ice on the lake in the winter and if I would have to do anything with the dock at the end of the season before the ice and he assured me that it would last for years. I originally was looking to spend $2000 but price climbed to $3000 and by finish it was over $3600. The dock was very nice, he did do a nice job. He was late starting the project by weeks, he would not call and not show up, would not return phone calls and many times his voicemail was full so you couldn't get through to even leave a message. We hired him in May and the dock didn't go in until the end of July when most of the season was over. The ice just melted and the dock has completely separated from the concrete on shore and the dock is laying in lake. I phoned him to see if he could take a look at it and he was extremely rude, blamed me, he said that he told me that I had to remove some bolts at the end of the season. We never had this conversation and I would have had him show me because I would need to know what bolts and what to do. He told me it would be a 4 hour job and that he would charge me. The conversation was extremely rude and hostile. I was calling to simply see if he could help me get it repaired for the season and I did assume that he would it free of charge since his claim was not true about it lasting for years. He was so concerned with it being on the main road and now the dock is laying in the lake. My big complaint is this man's attitude. He is hostile, rude, and aggressive and I do not recommend him. I prefer to pay to have someone else repair the dock then have him on my property again.
