Safe Ship Moving Services located at 200 Kunuth Road, Boynton Beach, FL 33436 contracted with Fair & Square Transportation located at 2499 Alexia Circle, Jacksonville, FL 32246, to handle my move from Birmingham, AL to Farmers Branch, TX. Order number: AA6140537 for Gina Tombrello. SS begged me for the business and promised me the best services. They lowered their quote to $2907 and I finally agreed and had to cancel with Nationwide whom I had already paid a down payment. When Fair & Square came in, Mr. Indrek Saar, he raised the amount to $4803.00 minus a $500 disc. This was more than I could pay and told him to leave. I have a visual and hearing impairment and all of the arguing back and forth was causing me to have pains in my chest. It was over four hours of disputing the charges because I had measured everything and it totaled 322 cubic feet. Mr. Saar said it was 600 CF and added additional charges of $200 long carry, $300 bulky fee, $600 packing materials and additional fuel surcharges.

SS & F&S threatened me with losing my deposit along with charging me $150 hour for delay in loading ($600 total) if I did not proceed with the move. I did not want to use this guy because of his dishonesty right out of the gate. Also, I had a hard time understanding him because he had a thick accent.

He made me sign documents before they were filled out and just said he would adjust the charges when he has loaded everything. That was a red flag but I had to go forward because I did not want to lose my deposit. After everything was loaded it took him some time to finish up the paperwork and I was so sick and tired that I did not examined the paperwork which was thrust in front of me and told that I would owe $539.00 at delivery of the furniture. Which was $140. more than the estimated charges of $4303.

In addition, Mr. Saar would not tell me where he was taking the shipment. I never got an address of where the items would be stored. When we took pictures of the shipment loaded, you could see all the space he did not use. He deliberately made the shipment come out to 600 CF so he would not have to return any money.

When he called to deliver, Mr. Saar said he would need a postal cashier's check or cash for $539 and that was the final total. When the driver arrived and measured the carry to the apartment, he demanded $275.00. I called SS because I had paid $75 for delivery. But they would not give me credit.

So I negotiated it down to $250 and had to get someone to go get a postal money order because I do not drive. Causing me more stress and more delays that day. Upon taking a look at the pickup truck w/trailer that delivered the shipment, it was evident that the shipment was crowded in to the top of the truck and took up little space because there were pads folded up and placed on each side of the shipment. My mother took pictures and you can see that the shipment was packed to the top of the truck and the bins hit the ceiling.

My experience is do not use these companies: SS sales lady, Clhoe Lincoln, was pushy and did not stand behind their promises.

I never received a copy of the booklet by law I was to receive - "your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move." F&S demanded a postal money order or cash and 70% of a bumped up estimate before loading which conflicted with SS promise of only 50%.

F&S, Mr. Indrek Saar assigned a fraudulent volume to the shipment and demanded I sign new estimate or lose my deposit.

F&S added a fraudulent laundry list of charges and demanded I pay.

F&S & SS threatened me with waiting time and loss of my deposit if I did not agree to the new terms.

F&S made me sign blank documents. F&S would not tell me where he was taking my items after putting on truck. F&S would not unload until I paid him additional $250 for delivery and did not give me credit for the $75 paid.

I wish I went with Nationwide moving Services who I had to beg to get my deposit back when SS told me to switch and go with them. I almost lost that deposit because of the terms of the contract which I was told incorrectly. Anyway, lesson learned don't go with a company that slanders other companies and lowers their rate to "get the Business." In most cases, it is too good to be true and it is in most cases.

I would like a refund of the load difference of 600 cf charged and 350 cf which is $1000.00 and long carry at pick up charge of $75.00 and SS charge at delivery of $75.00 and not credited and the packing charges over charge of $282.00 along with a credit for tape of $72.00 and mattress packing credit of $10 and a full service pack charge of $100.00 for a total of $1,432.00

Thank you,

Gina Tombrello, 1580 Mira Lago Blvd. Apt. 263, Farmers Branch, TX 75234 Phone: [protected] e-mail: [protected]@yahoo.com

Desired outcome: I would like a refund of $1,432
