My Wife and I was celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary. We booked a stay from 5/18/25-5/23/25 @Riu Republica. We called and notified prior to arrival and again once arrival that my wife is 6 1/2-month pregnant. Our room was a suite and was the last building in the back which was a long walk. Room request was put in and room given on 5/20. After being in room #2238 for a few hours my wife starts to feel ill and wanted a shower. Shower had a horrific odor and tried contacting customers service but, was able due to phone not working. Now i have to walk a distant back to customer service to communicate issues. Also notice the room had a lot of MOLD/MILDEW on the walls, ceiling and shower. Room was change to #2247 and after an assessment, that room also had MOLD/ MILDEW. Now room changed again to #3238 which did have some better outcome however the HVAC was not working plus we were on a very tight schedule as this is our Anniversary Day and was going to dinner offsite. Maintenance state it would take a couple hour in order for the unit to come. I mentioned it should not but, again i had to leave. Returned and unit is not working and again another room with NO WORKING PHONE. Again, i have to walk all the back to customer service, which stated there was nothing to be done to accommodate and would have to see of another room @1:30pm next day. Next day room #2395 was given back (First Room). Wife had a lot of issues with breathing, walking ETC. Other issues in these rooms are wet paint on the floors, wall patch etc.
