We paid over 6000USD to have a small shipment of my mothers personal effects and a few pieces of furniture shipped from Connecticut to Ireland (Dublin.) Less than 1/4 of it arrived and had been damaged by their packing process — big gouges in the wooden furniture and tape applied directly on to varnished wood! They packed a dozen crystal stemware, two at a time, wrapped only in one sheet of paper (no bubble wrap to be seen) and threw cookbooks on top of them.
The couple, Helen Shany and Ayal Shany have multiple complaints against their former companies but they just move to a different state and start one under a different name. I wish I had searched for them by name instead of just by their business name.
I posted a review on Facebook and on Google with my photos and videos of the damage to what remains of my items and Ayal called to accuse us of “slander.” I eagerly await legal action so I can call witnesses (his “packers”) to be legally deposed and show my evidence, and hopefully engage the media.
I initially tried to reason with them, assuming they were professionals who cared about providing a good service, but realized after finding another complaint here against Helen Shany (trading as Move Management) from 2014 that was identical to what has happened to my 84 year old mother.
“Helen Shany, who was the owner of Uniworld Cargo in New Jersey, had her license revoked and was sued for $5 Million according to the information posted online.”
Google Ayal Shany and you will see he also had a long list of complaints trading under other company names (Johnson International for example.)
I realized then that I was dealing with hardened criminals. I am posting this so others do not fall victim to this poor imitation of Bonnie and Clyde.
Desired outcome: Find my belongings; or pay the value of my shipment (5000usd) and refund services they failed to provide in breach of contract (6000usd) for a total of 11000 USD.
Just a small idea of our experience. I have more heartbreaking videos but files are too large to post here.
I also used to ship to Ireland, they lost 2 boxes, same Ayal guy refuses to do anything 😦
