RingtoneTimes.com review: Do not use this company - they are scams! 114

The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

On September 11 I was surfing the internet for free ringtones for my phone. I went to ringtones.com to see what they could offer. After I sent my cell number I received a Text that said they would charge my cell account $19.99 for subscription. I promptly called them back to tell the that I hadn't wanted to subscribe and that I just wanted to see what they had to offer. They said that they could do nothing for me and that the charge would still appear on my phone bill but that they would be happy to cancel my account. DO NOT use this company as they are only out for your money. They did nothing to help me and I will certainly tell everybody I know that I felt that I was scammed.

Web site reads 9.99 for thousands of ring tones when they offered 15 in category. I only wish i had seen these complaints before subscribing. I canceled and hour later without downloading anything!

Downloaded one free ringtone and within a week I was charged $20 for some value club monthly charge! I did not subscribe to this monthly charge at all and do not appreciate losing my $20 credit on my phone.

I wanted free ringtones for my cell phone and got ripped off. The message said you are subscribed to ringtones for 9.99/month. I replied to the text to say that I do not want this, their reply was do not understand your command! What a scam!

I went to this website to get free ring tones. Never got the ring tones but they started sending me jokes instead and i can't get them off my phone. Then they sent me a text saying they were renewing at $9.99 a month. When I try to text them back they say command not recognized.

My name is Brent Baker My mailing address is 2719 E. Tower Dr. Cincinnati Ohio Apt.#2 45238. My e mail address is as noted on complaint form . I was offered a free download for the song Lord I lift Your name on high by Sonic Flood and never received that download, the only thing I did receive is text messages stating that I would be charged for my subscription. I did not subscribe to anything and will not pay for it. From the looks of the number of complaints filed in conjunction with my complaint if things are not resolved in 72 hours I will have my attorney from pre-paid legal services McGuire/Snider look into a class action law suit. I have also contacted the Better Business.

First of all the email address doesn't work to try to cancel this false advertising charge.
I called the company immediately and they said it would not be charge, but low and behold, 30 days later they are charging me $9.99.
It will probably take many phone calls to my cellphone carrier and my visa card to get this cancelled. Don't be sucked into this!

All I was trying to receive were free ringtones. I then get a text message saying they charged my account $19.95 a month for fees to my new subscription. This better not have come out of my account because this was done so without my knowledge and consent. I am calling my bank right after this e-mail, to make sure nothing has been deducted. You f*cked the wrong person over, my Identity has been stolen a year ago and therefore I only do freebies on line, which means my account is very strictly overseen.

This is verbatim, exactly how it appears on my cell phone. Thinking this was one of AT&T's customer awards type of thing, I replied OK. The next message I get tells me I'm all signed up to begin getting billed $9.99 a month from ringtonetimes for some crap I don't want, don't need and did not receive!
WTF? How are these people allowed to continue with this deceptive BS? I sent them several E-mails requesting that they cancel the account and refund my money and they flat out refused saying I knew what I was signing up for. Someone show me where the above text message tells me this is some ringtonetimes member application?

I'd like to ring Chris NG's neck!

Anyway, AT&T did refund the money these scammers sucked out of my pre-paid phone account. I imagine pre-paid cell phones are the only one's they can screw like this, since they have your money before you are even aware of what you are mysteriously signed up for.

Someone should do something about these people. I have a friend with the IRS who I'm going to call and see if they aren't interested in auditing Cris NG and his ringtonetimes company!

I got a text message on my phone advising that Ringtontimes.com charged my card $9.99...

I have no knowledge of Ringtonetimes and have not authorized Ringtonetimes to charge me for anything...I have received no product or service from that company...

Now, you either refund my money on my card right away, or I'm contacting an attorney to press charges against you...I'm not going to wait very long for my refund because this type of sleazy scamming business that you're running to rip as many people off as you can really pisses me off...

GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK...DO YOU UNDERSTAND?...

How can, legally, Verizon bill third party charges ? I did not authorize Verizon to bill me something that I never would order ! We have a contract., yet they allow some crap company to third party bill me through them ?
It's a contract violation. I knew nothing about this Ringtone company until it appeared on my bill and I called Verizon.
Rev up your rights (and lawyers) !
Verizon did tell me that they would credit the charge...but what about next month ?

Verizon needs to take care of this right now !

I got my latest wireless bill today and noticed a charge for a Premium Text Message. I never subscribed, never visited their website, never even heard of them before! I did not get any ringtones, wallpapers, jokes etc. Yet they charged me $9.99! This is such a scam! This company should have to pay back all the money it's stolen since it's inception! I am definately contacting the BBB!

The "free ringtones" offered on my Verison phone were charged on my cell phone bill at $9.99 per month...I canceled (as soon as Verison told me it was a third party and how to cancel) and expect to have ALL of the charges reversed on my phone bill immediately.
Its ridiculous that Verison would allow such a scam to be offered on their phones under their menus...
SOMEONE BETTER CREDIT MY CELL PHONE ACCOUNT!
