Free Cruise
Beware! Scam! Run! We were approached at a concert in St. Louis about attending a Welk Resort showing and we would receive a free cruise, vacation, etc. Decided we would go and take a look... Arrived for our showing and was taken into a room with about 50 other representatives showing the property. Our representative was very nice and not high pressure at all. We listened to the talk, watched the movie, toured the property and after all of that decided not to buy. Was taken to an office to get our certificate for our free cruise. When in the office was then offered another deal; and was told our certificate "was out of stock" and it would be mailed to us. After hounding the company several times I finally received the certificate. Went online and followed all instructions and was ready to book our cruise... This is where the fraudulent and misleading begins! If you are taking this tour just for the free trip avoid it like the plague... DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, GAS, TIME! Here is the "free" trip details in comparison with the EXACT cruise on the Carnival cruise web site... Carnival - 2 travers - cruise rate $398.00; Taxes, fees and port expenses $177.40; Total $575.40 includes taxes, fees and port expenses. This is the total for the whole trip... for 2 people on Carnival's web site. NOW... Free Trip Costs - Hotel tax 4 nights $94/night - $376.00; One time registration fee $50.00; Total due to register for your "FREE" cruise - $426.00. I called the company inquiring why the fees are different for them than the actual web site and they said this was their fee and couldn't do anything about it... Again run! run! run! from these people at the concerts, ballgames, etc. it is a scam!
Gift Scam after Presentation
Attended Timeshare presentation at Welk Resorts and was given a "gift" for attendance. It required registration with Ordenza Marketing Group. Since the web application had no reference to it, I mailed the form with a self addressed envelope per instructons. I have not heard from them in over 6 weeks and the deadline approaches. They list no contact...
