Walmart MoneyCard No early direct deposits due to shutdown

I have used the walmart money card for about two years now for all my banking needs and direct deposits. I have had no issues with the card accept for sometimes being unable to use it at gas pumps and not being able to find an ATM that won't charge me for withdrawls. What I love most about the card is the ability to get my paycheck a few days earlier than everyone else. Due to the government shutdown im assuming walmart and green dot bank who is the financial institution behind the walmart money card is apparently not providing the deposits as early as they would prior to the shutdown. My VA pay which is normally deposited on the 26th of each month or the 25th if the 26th falls on a weekend has not been deposited. I'm not really complaining due to the fact that the walmart money card does pay my benefits 5 to 6 days earlier than even the Credit Unions; but it would have been nice to have a heads up about the companies plans to pay the direct deposits later than usual due to the shutdown. So for anyone out their like me who made weekend plans thinking you would have the funds to go or still wondering where your money is your not alone. I love my walmart money card but a little heads up would have been nice. I'm aware that they only guaranteed my deposits to be 2 days earlier but if you know you have been consistantly providing a service earlier than usual just inform me when changes will be made don't have the support staff make me feel mentally I'll when I call to find out where my direct deposit is. Especially when this person can see what days my deposits hit and has no reason for me as to why my money is not their. A simple notification or email would have been sufficient.

Walmart MoneyCard Over draft protection

I think you should be able to use the over draft more than ten transaction's each month it should be unlimited as long as it's paid up what happens if you need to use it more than ten transaction's. It is helpful but not when it's on pause.

Walmart MoneyCard Overdraft protection

Walmart will charge you overdraft fees even though you bring your account balance to a positive within 24 hrs. They charged me two overdraft fees and my direct deposit was on my card 14 hrs later so when they say you won't be charged overdraft fees if you bring your account balance to a positive within 24 hours of making the overdraft transaction is bull crap. I would not recommend using the overdraft protection because they will take out fees regardless of whether you are within the 24 hours or not!

Walmart MoneyCard All Good Things Come To An END

I generally don't like to do reviews based on one experience or issue, but this was so deserving I couldn't pass the opportunity. I used to have an open account until one day I was out shopping, and received an alert of a point of sale charge against my card at a Starbucks in Seattle, WA, A FEW minutes after a gift purchase at a store in my hometown (one of many that day). I immediately phoned to dispute the charge as I didn't drink Starbucks coffee and would never spend $40 there- and asked that it be refunded back to my card. After a year of going back and forth, opening cases, and being transferred around to multiple "departments" (none of which ever wanted to tell me exactly their function or why I was transferred to them) I gave up- something I think was the plan all along- and removed the remainder of the funds from the card and attempted to close the account. To compound the issue, I was told I would have to fax or mail the request to close the account (?) - ok. I immediately faxed it over while on the phone and of course you have to wait for the faxes to be distributed and processed before they can document and process the request. Long story short, I literally had to get rude before anything happened and that was still weeks following the request. Fast forward to almost 2-almost 3 years later, I received a "notification" that the dispute had been resolved in my favor and the funds refunded on a card I had closed, was told had been closed, only to discover it had not! To add insult to injury, they had the audacity to tell me to log into the account and close it so that the funds would be refunded by check. (You can't make this stuff up) well, it gets even better, they then began deducting the monthly charges for the card from the refund of the fraudulent charges until nothing was left because my information had changed (phone, etc.) the code sent to update my password kept going to an old phone number & I couldn't add a new one even with other identifying factors. Long story short, be careful with this card because unlike most, it is insanely difficult to get any justice and true customer service or support. I've said my peace and only hope that you are careful with using this card and service should you dare to chance your hard earned money to it. I leave you with a great line from a great movie, "May the odds ever be in your favor".

Note: I would've displayed the letter, but I believe I ripped it to shreds after hearing they were deducting their fees from an account that was supposed to be closed.

Walmart MoneyCard Walmart Money Card: Blocked Account, Lost Funds, and Poor Customer Service

I've been using the Walmart Money Card for a few years now, and I gotta say, it's been pretty smooth sailing up until recently. Just last month, I tried to use my card at one of my go-to stores, but it got declined. I checked my account, and the balance was more than enough to cover the purchase, so I called customer service to figure out what was going on. Turns out, my account had been blocked for some reason, and they couldn't tell me why. They did give me instructions on how to unblock it, but it took me three tries over two weeks to finally regain access to my account.

Fast forward to tonight, and I'm trying to pay my utility bill, something I've been doing with this card for the past nine years. But once again, my card gets declined, even though my balance is more than enough to cover the bill. I check my account, and lo and behold, it's been blocked again! I call customer service, and this time they tell me that my account has been permanently closed due to suspicious activity/security reasons. And get this, they won't return the $9000 I had in that account, no matter what! I mean, seriously, since when is paying utility bills and shopping on Amazon considered suspicious activity?

They told me that an investigation had been conducted, but they refused to tell me what the suspicious activity was. And to top it all off, no one bothered to contact me at any point during the past month to let me know that my account had been hacked, blocked, or under investigation. So, if you're okay with having thousands of dollars stolen from you by a financial institution, then go ahead and use this card. But if you're like me and you work hard for your money and expect it to be available to you whenever you need it, then I suggest you keep looking for a better option.

Walmart MoneyCard Greendot: A Scamming Company with Terrible Customer Service and No Security Measures

This company is just terrible! I can't even believe how bad they are! My card got hacked and someone took $500 out of my account. It's been a whole week now and I've been transferred from one department to another, back and forth, with no answers. The customer service people are so clueless, they don't even know what they're talking about half the time and they're hard to understand. I asked for an update on my refund check and they just transferred me back and forth between customer service and disputes, but still no information.

I finally reached out to a lead investigator for Walmart and they looked into my account. It turns out that someone from greendot called me and gave me a code, which compromised my account. Now I'm out over a thousand dollars because they won't send me my refund check while they investigate the other $500. They even told me that it's not guaranteed that I'll get my money back!

I tried to contact the federal reserve and even green dot corporate, but they said they can't do anything to override my account and send me my refund while I wait for the investigation. This is just ridiculous! They're a bunch of scammers! There are so many lawsuits against this company and I'm about to add another one to the list! It's not my fault that they don't have any security measures in place to protect their loyal customers' money!

Corporate was a complete waste of time to talk to because they said they can't do anything. This is by far the worst company in the whole country! They're just a bunch of scammers who will let your account get hacked and then make you wait for your money that they might not even give back to you! I'm going to talk to my lawyer about this because it's just not right and it's not good business.

Walmart MoneyCard Poor Security and Customer Service: My Experience with the Walmart MoneyCard

I've been using the Walmart MoneyCard for a good 5 years now and I have to say, I've never had any issues with it in the past. However, I do have to agree with some of the other reviews out there that the customer service can be a bit of a pain to deal with. It's hard to understand what the people at their call centers are saying sometimes, and their English isn't always the best. I mean, how are they supposed to help me if they can't even understand what I'm saying, right?

Anyway, fast forward to a few weeks ago and my account got hacked. Not once, but twice. The first time was right after Christmas, and then the second time was right after New Year's. I did everything they told me to do - I went and purchased a different card, changed my password, and locked my card. But none of it helped. The hacker was still able to change my information on my account, like my phone number and email address, and they were able to transfer my money from my account to an EFT account.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend getting a Walmart MoneyCard to anyone. They really should have better security and protection in place. They finished their investigation and still didn't have any information for me, but they did send me a check. The problem is, Walmart won't cash it even though it came from Green Dot Bank. So now I have to go to a real bank tomorrow and hope that they'll cash it for me.

I take my personal information very seriously, and I'm a private person. So to have my information out there with some hacker is just horrifying. I feel like they really failed me in this situation. I mean, I wouldn't even trust the security on this card as much as I trust my Cash App card. It's just not worth it.

Honestly, I don't know if it was someone who works at Walmart or someone else entirely. But either way, I'm done with the Walmart MoneyCard. And maybe even Walmart altogether.

Walmart MoneyCard Beware of Walmart MoneyCard Green Dot: Poor Customer Service and False Claims

Recently, I decided to purchase a Walmart MoneyCard Green Dot to give my teenager the freedom to shop this holiday season. We added some funds onto the card and my daughter made a few purchases on Amazon. While two of them arrived on time, one did not. We reached out to Amazon to cancel the undelivered order and had $16 left on the card at the time. A couple of days later we headed to Target and made a purchase that brought our remaining balance down to $4.63.

Now, as soon as we cancelled the Amazon order, we contacted Walmart MoneyCard and initiated a dispute for the same. The representative we spoke with confirmed the dispute and informed us that the refund amount of $32.36 would be credited back to the card by 12/20/21. However, when I checked the card, nothing had been refunded. I reached out to customer service via email and they stated that they couldn't find any such purchases. This left me confused, as I had clear evidence of the claimed transactions and phone call recordings.

When I called customer service again, I was informed that there was only one purchase recorded from Amazon and another from Brushmark, which is a completely different company. Despite my explanations and evidence, they overlooked the Target purchase and the refunded amount was incorrect. To top it off, they even mentioned a purchase of $2 from Amazon, which was impossible and completely untrue!

With such poor customer service and utter disregard for the truth, I feel taken advantage of and want to ensure that I never have to go through this experience again. The mistake has left me with no trust in the Walmart MoneyCard system, and I will never purchase one again, even for gifts. It's a shame that such bad customer service can cause such a loss of trust and dismay.

Walmart MoneyCard Warning: Poor Customer Service and Delays with Walmart MoneyCard Replacement After Fraudulent Activity

After experiencing several unfamiliar charges on my Walmart MoneyCard, I decided to examine my transaction history and found even more unauthorized charges. I admit it was my mistake for not being more vigilant in monitoring my account activity. However, I want to caution other users that if this happens while you're out of town and you report these charges, and your entire balance is on the card, you may find yourself stranded without access to your funds. A card replacement is required at this point, but I have yet to receive mine after three weeks and countless attempts to reach the company's customer service team.
What's more frustrating is that once your current card is inactive, you won't be able to access customer service through the 1-800 number provided, as you cannot use your cancelled fraud charge card number. Although you're able to log in to your account as usual, you're essentially stuck without any help in trying to get your money off the card. It took a big favor from someone to help me get home, but I'm still waiting for my card replacement all these weeks later.
I'm sure there are others out there who've dealt with similar issues, and I want to stress that WalmartMoneyCard's customer service is virtually non-existent. How does anyone retrieve their own money when their card is cancelled as a result of fraudulent transactions and the company doesn't send a new card? It's a frustrating ordeal, and the lack of assistance from the company only makes matters worse.

Walmart MoneyCard My Terrible Experience with the Walmart MoneyCard: Do Not Use

My experience with the Walmart MoneyCard has been less than satisfactory. If negative stars were an option, I would give them a negative hundred. I've been a cardholder for over two years and unfortunately, I've had several issues with their service. The first time I had an issue, I had lost my card and requested a new one. However, I was not informed that there was no way to access my funds without the card. I was then told that it would take ten days to get a replacement, which was frustrating. After several days of fighting with their customer service, I paid $15 to expedite the process and finally got my new card.

Just recently, I discovered that my card had been charged fraudulently for over $300. After contacting customer service, the representative I spoke with was difficult to understand. They told me that all of the transactions had been entered into the dispute but that I needed to wait ten business days. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to reach anyone until I received my new card, and when I did, I found out that not all of the transactions had been processed in the dispute. This meant that I had to file another dispute, which was a frustrating and time-consuming process.

To make things worse, I received a denial letter stating that one of the transactions had been authorized by me, despite the fact that it was not even a recent charge. It was a charge from October, yet they claimed it was the same type of transaction, so they denied the dispute. I've been stuck on hold for over an hour now, and I really wish I had never gotten this card. If you're considering getting a Walmart MoneyCard, I would highly recommend looking into other options instead.

Walmart MoneyCard Poor Customer Service from Greendot: My Experience with the Walmart MoneyCard

I've been a Walmart MoneyCard user for more than a decade, and unfortunately, my experience with it hasn't been all smooth sailing. In 2016, I fell victim to fraud and identity theft, which caused me to lose all of my money. Since then, I've tried my best to limit access and protect myself, but unfortunately, I recently experienced another setback.

In my opinion, the customer service provided by Greendot, the company that owns and operates Walmart MoneyCard, has been extremely poor. When I called them after the latest incident, I felt as though I was being treated like a criminal. The staff was degrading and insulting, and their condescending attitude was the last thing I needed during a difficult time.

Despite the fact that I had filed a dispute regarding fraudulent charges on my account, they still accepted my direct deposit without my permission. This was a huge red flag for me, and I was shocked that they would do something so unethical.

The incident in question occurred in October of last year, but it was totally resolved with Walmart losing no money as a result. However, in February of this year, I received a message from Greendot that implied I had done something wrong. They used the incident from October as an excuse to accuse me of wrongdoing, even though it was clear that I was the victim of a stolen phone and subsequent fraud.

I reported my stolen phone immediately and suspended the line, but it was later reactivated without my knowledge and used to make multiple unauthorized charges. Despite my protestations, Greendot acted as though I had somehow caused this to happen, even though it was clear that I had not.

In conclusion, I want to warn others to be careful when dealing with companies like Walmart MoneyCard and to find service providers that are willing to genuinely help you when something goes wrong. In my opinion, customer service is everything, and it's crucial to work with a company that has your best interests in mind. Don't settle for less than you deserve, and take care to protect yourself from identity theft and fraud.

Walmart MoneyCard Green Dot Prepaid Card Review: Customer Service and Activation Issues at Walmart Money Center

After doing some research online, I came across Green Dot as a highly recommended prepaid card option. Intrigued by the positive feedback, I decided to purchase two cards each loaded with $500, on December 26th. My first experience using the card went as planned; however, two days later, on December 29th, I attempted to activate the second card but experienced difficulties. The system repeatedly suggested that I enter valid card information, despite entering accurate information. Unfortunately, this prompted me to visit the Hartford Ct Walmart, which proved further complicated by the unpleasant demeanor of the manager, Victoria, whose attitude resembled that of a professional basketball player with her spin-around juke moves!

I soon realized that no one at the Walmart Money Center could assist me with my issue, thus I decided to go online to speak with a live agent at Green Dot. After several frustrating conversations back and forth, I was informed that the issue lied with the card number and that a refund check would take two weeks to process. I found this unacceptable and disturbing, particularly as it was now New Year's Eve, and my working-class income was completely tied up.

In light of these difficulties, I felt compelled to offer constructive feedback to both Walmart and Green Dot, in the hope that these issues would improve. Firstly, I strongly suggest that both companies provide more live agents to assist with customer issues, as the back and forth online or automated phone system proved both exhausting and ineffective. Additionally, I found the lack of empathy and rude behavior of some Walmart employees, such as Victoria, disturbing and unacceptable. I believe that customer service is the backbone of any company and should receive special attention. By taking these steps, both companies can further improve their services and meet the needs of their customers.

When considering options for managing your money, it's important to prioritize security and ease of use. Unfortunately, there have been reports of fraud and security concerns with Walmart MoneyCard. It goes without saying that managing your money is a serious matter, and it's crucial to do your research before entrusting your finances to any institution. While the Walmart MoneyCard may be a convenient option for some, it's important to weigh the potential risks before making any decisions.
