Billing
I used the company for a spray tan on 03/25/11. It was a one-time charge of $35. Then on both 7/5/11 & 7/6/11 the company charged my credit card $999.99 for a total of $1, 999.98 in charges I did NOT authorize. I did not catch the charges right away, and I admit I should have been more diligent. However, when I did discover the charges I immediately let Rob Lonardo, the owner of Spray Tan La know. He asked me to file a dispute with my credit card company and I did. My credit card company however, did not refund the money b/c more than 120 days had passed. I forwarded this to Rob and asked for a refund and he called me a ### and said take me to court, then hung up on me.
I have filed a report with the Los Angeles Police Department and The Better Business Bureau. I have also spoken to 2 other people who had the exact same thing happen to them. This does not appear to be an isolated incident, but seems to be a pattern. Do NOT use this company. If you must, please only use cash. You cannot trust your credit card with them. If you have used them in the past, make sure to keep a close eye on your statements, even months down the road for suspicious activity.
Sales Tactic Scam
Spray Tan LA and the owner Rob Lonardo are currently running a spray tan scam that offers a free tan and then they bill you for a full tan package even though you never agreed to it. Rob Lonardo and Spray Tan LA are scamming customers with shady sales tactics and pressure sales. Keep clear of Spray Tan LA. Who else is Rob Lonardo scamming money from?
