labor ready HORRIBLE!

What the hell is this TESCOR Survey ###! I went in to labor ready today to fill out an application to hopefully to get some work since my family is going through a hard time right now. I waited there for 2 hours to fill out an application since there were a lot of people ahead of me. Finally my turn comes up and I have to take this TESCOR Survey test with 73 Questions, First off this is the most ridiculous thing I've ever done. This TESCOR Survey ask so many questions that no other job would ever ask, It asked me about 6 times in different questions if I have ever did any Drugs ( my answers " NEVER " ) 10 Questions were about Fighting on the streets and Fighting in the work place ( my answers " NEVER " ) I never fought in a work place or on the Streets NOR! have I ever wanted to be in a confirmation with ANYONE! asked me if I been in a supervisory positions ( my answers "YES" ) times got tough and jobs were lost and you have to do what you got to do to work. I have so Many skills I can weld, drive forklifts, RUN Crews like nothing and So many other top skill sets. SO I went to the Bottom of the Employment agency to hopefully get some extra income and to get fast work and I DIDNT QUALIFY! WTH is this? I have skills that would have help these people get better contracts and I GUESS THEY WANT DRUGGIES AND BUMS! all 5 people in Front of me made it 3 didn't speak English and 2 looked like BUMS. And I got DIS-Qualified? Such ### man.. maybe I should have said YES I've fought before and YES I drank this morning before I came to work and Beat the guy up down the street to before I came in! All I got to say to my FELLOW Workers that are down because of the Economy Be STRONG and keep going Stay away from LABOR READY! If you are an HONEST MAN OR WOMAN Labor Ready Doesn't want YOU! I AM FILING A Complaint against TESCOR and LABOR READY

labor ready working methods

I work for labor ready in Tampa, fl. I just got off of a 8 straight week ticket but since then "2 weeks ago" They have not sent me out to another job site. The way it is suppose to go is when you sign in for that day''s work the employee's behind the desk that are incharge of sending people out to work are calling people at home, " that have not even bothered to show up that morning", and sending them on a work ticket when they have at least 15 people in the building right then that have at least shown up to go out to work. The other question is why are they taking people off a repeat ticket or not sending the people they request to be on the work ticket by the supervisor of that job site and putting someone else or someone they want to put on the ticket, I have seen this done several time in the office in Tampa on 5701 Columbus drive, Tampa, fl, 33619. These type of things that are being done at this office is why some of the temp worker do not bother to do a great job because the people behind the desk seem to think they can do as they please in sending people out to work this needs to change hope someone can help me find a way to get change in the office I work threw

labor ready witheld payment for my services

I worked for 8 hours and they only paid me for 6.5 hours. I called to complain and the woman was rude and patronizing (I think her name was Kristina Bellizzi). I never got paid for that hour and a half. I then found out that this has happened many times before to other people I've talked to that have gone through Labor ready for work.

labor ready Extremely unprofessional

First impressions do not mean so much when you need rent money. However, I was not impressed at all when I went to the Poplar Level, Louisville KY location. It took almost 30 min. to be acknowledged, while the manager and second in command discussed the neighbor's dog and a birthday party. The place is dirty and the manager screams profanities at the workers. They finally had me take a seat (applications are only taken before 10 am) and waited for the new girl to arrive, then they left for lunch leaving the new girl to deal with me and another applicant, after 11:15 am. Another time, I overheard a conversation in which a customer was angry because the workers were sent with the wrong type of gloves because they were out of them. The manager scream "there's a whole pile of dirty gloves over here that they can use!" As if anyone wants to put their hands in gloves that someone else who may not wash their hands, or may have warts, or may have open sores, or even aids has used. It is my understanding that the gloves are taken home by the manager and "washed" but after seeing that absolutely no one has even used a vacuum in the place since I started, it is unlikely the gloves see a washing machine. Another repulsive act is the way they cuss you if there is a particular job you do not want to go to or you do not want to transport others to and from. It is up to the rider if they want to pay you, how much, and is very doubtful you will see that person after they get paid. This is not fair to the driver who has to pay for gas, insurance, and the car payment itself. Get your own ride! Other agencies have vans or they automatically deduct the fee from the rider's check and put it on the driver's, which is how it should be, and excuse me, but I do not know these people and the majority of them are addicts and/or felons by their own admissions, but they are forced on you as if your safety is not at all important.

labor ready Scam

You know I don't know what the *** is wrong with the people that run the labor Ready desk in Chester they sent me out on a job that was only going to be four hours long and I think $20 transportation's I get to the job at 10:30 and I'm hanging around and it's about 11;00 I call the person I'm suppose to meet and he says what job were not doing that job today call your dispatch I call my dispatch (labor Ready) and the knuckel head girl says oops that job is for Saturday she says come back to the office and will give you 2 hours pay which comes to about $14 I had to travel almost 30 miles each way they should realize how much gas cost and maybe give me at least 4 hours that would have been fair but that's the way the whole country's going F you you don't like to bad the girl behind the desk should at least be able to read and write before they hire them.

labor ready Workers fired for finding bomb!

The three workers who found a bomb at the MLK march site in Spokane Wa. were fired by Labor Ready for "Mishandling" the situation. Say they were herassed by company for several days afterwards. This bomb was designed and placed to kill by a white racist who has been arrested. Labor Ready, better people had been killed? These three deserve to be thanked and congratulated and rewarded for their actions rather then punished. They opened the backpack, saw wires and called police. Proper thing to do in my opinion. I would advise everyone to avoid this company as it seems the doller in the pocket is more important then the lives of their fellow Americans.

labor ready The people working the front desk refuse to let me fill-out an application on days they take apps

It has been several weeks now, that I've come into the office at 1450 Morse Rd. in Columbus, OH. Only to be told to come back on monday's. Yes, I have come in at the time stated on the front door. Only to be turned away again. I have come into this office with a gracious and respectful attitude always. Yet, the people at the front counter refuse to allow me an application. Stating that I could come back on Mondays, and when I do, they say they're not taking application because of not enough staff on duty at that time. I come in on Thursdays only to be told the same exact thing. It is disheartning for an indivitual who wants and needs to work to support his family, to be turn away in this manner.

labor ready Refused work for not bringing other workers to job site

Labor Ready Gretna, LA. refused me an assignment. after calling me on the phone, and asking me to come to the office to fill out a records check authorization.

Upon my arrival at the office, the staff member offered me gas money to bring two other people to the job site. Was never introduced to the people and told that I would be paid for gas when I returned with the people. No paperwork to prove such a deal and refused to understand that I am liable for those people when in my personal vehicle.

Am I a taxi service?

Welcome to Labor Ready... I know all about it, it's a very common practice.. get used to it or find other employment. The best thing about it is when they quit dispatching you because you can't afford to pay for the gas and the wear and tear repairs on your vehicle for what little they want to pay you for your services..

labor ready Tescor Survey

I went to Labor Ready looking for work, whereas I was told to take a Tescor Survey before employment could be offered. I took the survey, which asked about theft, drug use, anger issues, RACE, etc. When I finished, I was told I wasn't qualified for employment! I am a very honest person, and answered accordingly, of which I should have had no problems. Nothing negative on my part. When I asked Julie why I was disqualified, she informed me that she didn't have that info, and that I should contact Tescor. I looked them up on the computer when I got home, called them, and was informed that Julie at Labor Ready lied to me about having this info! The representitive from Tescor (Merchants Information Solutions) told me that Labor Ready "would" have that info, and to contact them back. When I called Labor Ready back, I got the same response from Julie! She said she didn't have that info. Obviously, someone is lying, and I have a legal right to know why I was disqualified based on my answers!

We realize it is not available (n/a).
Part of the issue is the secrecy associated with the "survey". Some places have you sign an agreement not to disclose the questions. Tescor and other organizations like them want to be above scrutiny because their test is questionable at best, and possibly illegal, at worst. Either way it needs to be able to pass scrutiny of the people most and worst affected by it.
It's questions need to be openly published and information on how to pass it needs to be made public.

The key to defeating Tescor and any other tests like it is to "obtain" and publish the questions. There needs to be a How To Pass book on these tests with special emphasis on Tescor.

In Ontario we have privacy and consumer protection laws designed to protect us from both 'Bait and Switch' and 'Non consensual disclosure.
Labour Ready does both!
I am researching both 'Statute' and personal experiences from others that both passed and failed this, and I quote "Survey, with no right or wrong answers"

I also failed the Tescor Survey. I am 64 and retired. I planed on donating the money to charity rather than doing voluntary work, as I wanted to stay active physically, and socially. I worked for 40 years in the lumber remanufacturing business, the last 25 years as production supervisor, responsible for all the labor to produce the final product. In this position I would regulary contact labor ready for day labor. As a rule the workers supplied were motivated and hard working. I felt I also would a good worker and was anticipating working at various industries in the area, and was disappointed when I failed. There is definatly something wrong with the tescor survey. Now I don't need the job or the money, but it seems there are a lot of good honest hardworking people not given the oppertunity to participate in the work force because of the tescor survey.

I just wrote the tescore @ labor ready in Kitchener waterloo and I was honest on all questions that I never stole, I would not fake an injury etc., they ran the results from the machine I used and I heard one of the workers say to the other worker he did exceptionally well she looked at me and said I'm sorry you're rejected this proves that if you want to work for labor ready you have to be a dishonest, unrealiable, not trustworthy hmm what has this world come to what has canada come to well better go steal from you're job and then you can work for labor ready trust me you'll pass, for us responsble, reliable, honest, trustworthy people don't go to labor ready because they don't want us they want theives, liers, irresponsible people so employers think about the temp agency that you work with because this is the type of people that labor ready accepts. People that steal from their work secretly, people that fake injury for comp, people that gives their friends dscounts when their boss said not to secretly. So if this is the people they want at labor ready is this the type of people you want workng for you is this really why their is so much corruption, and crimes in work places and in this country.

I failed too. It is like they want you to lie. I don't use drugs, or stole anything. I think I failed because of them violence questions which are so damn stupid. I thought I would pass, but I didn't, I was shocked. I never used violence on the work site. or never got mad enough to strike a coworker. rarely had to defend myself. but I do have confidence in myelf wtf
